This is the third time it happened
I always have to leave the equation
Just because I know someone else is the right option
You never chose but your actions spoke
You told me you liked none of us
Yet every night and day you text him without delay
He probably doesn't even like you
I might actually love you
But a haze of friendship drifts this love away
A sense of security makes me want to stay
I know in my heart that you both deserve the best
I knew from the start that I stood no chance
Wanted to talk to you after all this time
Yet you came happily with him by your side
I was confused and so ashamed
I prayed that the world would end that day
You were my everything, The person I could tell anything
But to you I was nothing, just a friend that makes you laugh
Maybe if you didn't know him then I would be the one
Maybe if the time was right then I could be the one by your side
