If I didn't send that message would we still talk
If I stop bringing him up would this still work
It's hard to be someone else just to be with the person you want
Could I be a better person by letting you see what I'm worth
Dying in silence and things I just can't stand to see
In the tears, in the lies could there be a little truth hidden in the seams
Because it seems like I've been wasting all this time
On people who never knew and saw the real me
Only versions created from our shared perspective of things
I become the person that should be perfect for you
Method acting and immersing myself to play this tune
Forgetting the real and waking up after you leave
Or I leave because I've grown tired of the lies and schemes
Is it possible that there is someone out there for me
How is it possible that I was never the best choice
Even though you could tell I was the kind of guy that would give his voice to be with the one he loved
