SCENE VI. Neville's Flower Shop.
Enter NEVILLE and Harry
NEVILLE
So Merlin smiles upon this crazy idea,
That after-hours with sorrow chide us not!
HARRY
Come now, Neville, what sorrow can,
It cannot countervail the exchange of joy
That one short minute gives me in his sight:
Do thou but to bring us together once again,
Then love-devouring death do what he dare;
It is enough I may but call him mine.
All suitors beware, I shall spare none.
NEVILLE
These violent delights have violent ends.
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume: the sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite:
Therefore love moderately; long love doth so;
Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.
Enter DRACO
Here comes your lad: O, so light a foot
Will ne'er wear out the everlasting flint:
A lover with gossamer hair
That idles in the wanton summer air,
And yet not fall; so light is his vanity.
DRACO
Good even to you shop-owner.
NEVILLE
Harry shall thank thee, sir, for us both.
DRACO
As much to him, else is his thanks too much.
HARRY
Ah, Draco, if the measure of thy joy
Be heap'd like mine, we shall set the stars ablaze.
With the unimagined happiness I feel
Received by thee in this dear encounter.
DRACO
Conceited am I, richer in love than in gold,
Then ever I was before, my dear Harry
My true love is grown to such excess
I cannot give count to my happiness.
NEVILLE
Don't count your chicks before they hatch'd
Come, decide... what is your path?
For 'tis only a matter of time ere you're discover'd
In secret this secret cannot lie,
But your choice to flee or make it known.
Which path do 'ere you choose? For there
Are doomed consequences whatever you choose.
HARRY
Ah, Draco, my love. I am at your desire.
Decide what path we 'ere go
And I will not hesitate to walk it so
DRACO
Harry. It may be easier to begin life anew.
To flee England and all this ballyhoo,
But I must break with my family first,
Or the bullets will start to fly.
HARRY
Tis right you 're. Bid our families adieu.
But are you sure, my love?
DRACO
Done am I with this talk of war.
The threat of violence, perseverance of hate.
I declare to all that I love thee, wizard,
I care not where my parents stand.
HARRY
My love, you make me whole.
DRACO
Whole enough to become one?
I test thy conviction, my Romeo.
Will stand you at a muggle alter with me
And swear you will be mine alone?
HARRY
Oh, Draco, name the time and place,
Or else say now! I crave nothing else!
DRACO
Give me a day... and time to bribe a man.
Is there any such covenant you desire?
HARRY
A muggle shrine will content all my dreams,
I only desire to bind me to your name.
I will forsake my father's name.
DRACO
Nye, my love. We kept our names,
What was one is two, joined by words,
And soon I hope in deeds as well.
HARRY
Ay my love. That I look forward to.
When will you call for me?
DRACO
By the workmen's hour. I know a priest.
Ere I pry him with words and wine,
He may acquiesce. But I want a lawful script.
Go you to the clerk to get the license.
HARRY
As you wish, I am yours to command.
DRACO
If that be the case, kiss me, my hero.
And don't hold back.
NEVILLE
I'll just go outside, by your leave,
You shall stay here alone,
You two will be one, soon enough.
Exeunt
