Pansy (Part 2)
Pansy walked down the hall, trying to will her head to stop hurting. She left Granger alone after her plea to wait. She just told her that to get her memories, and she had to leave.
"I have to find Draco. I'm sure he's freaking out about now. You figure out what you want and let me know."
She stopped at her room to freshen up, before walking to Draco's room and knocking. She heard the rough, "Go away," and opened the door.
"Draco?"
"Leave me alone," he said, his voice high. He was curled up in a ball in the bed.
"Did you get Potter, at least?" she asked, coming over to the bed and lying next to him.
Draco had been in love with the stupid prat since day fucking one. She was so sick of dealing with his heartbreak. It was why she was so insistent on everyone taking the damn potion. It was all for him. Her best friend needed some happiness, and Potter... maybe he really loved Draco, too? She could only hope, with the way those two would fight, on and off the pitch.
Draco didn't answer. His quiet sobs were all that she heard.
"Draco, honey? Please..." she said and moved closer, hugging him.
He had hickies all down his neck. Well, he wasn't alone and since he was the only person there last night who didn't need a potion to tell him what he wanted, she assumed he had found his target.
"Was it Potter?" she pressed, tucking his hair behind his ear, and he nodded. "Oh honey, was he freaking out when he woke up?"
"No," he sniffled.
"So... what's wrong?"
"It won't work... it won't work..." he muttered. "It won't work."
Pansy sighed. "Draco... sweetie... it could, don't you see? Potter was in your bed! He wants you, too."
"No... he doesn't. It was the potion. He can't love me."
"Draco... that was truth. Pure truth. No curtains, no shroud over what you feel. He went to you, Dray."
"Only because of the potion," he hissed.
She rubbed her head, wishing she stopped for the cure before easing Draco's mind. "Draco, honey, please. My head is killing me. I don't want to argue in circles with you. Can you at least whip me up a pain potion?"
He gave her a glare, but with a shove from her, he got out of bed and went over to his small potions table that he had set up. The big nerd actually brewed potions... for fun. Within a minute, he took a slug of something and then passed the glass to her and handed it over.
"Thanks," she said, drinking it. The headache faded. "Much better. Are you still in denial? Potter wants you. Everything you want is at your fingertips, Dray."
Draco sat back down and lowered his head, tears came and she pulled him down into her lap. "He won't want me. I'm a Death Eater. It doesn't matter if we belong together. I'm his enemy. I'll never be good enough for him, Pansy."
"Draco! Come on! The war is over. You can't live the rest of your life with that Mark hanging over your head! You didn't have the choice to say no. Potter knows that!"
"It doesn't matter. It's a dream. He'll be disgusted with himself soon enough. A gay fling with his archrival? How cliché."
She rubbed her head for a different reason, now. "No... he won't. He's been stalking you for years. Once he remembers what you told him when your tongue was loose, he won't let you get away."
Draco lifted his head. "I should stop him. Potter is not meant to be with someone like me."
Pansy pushed him back down. "Geez, Draco. You need some self-respect. But listen for the millionth time, he wants you... out of all of us."
"Yeah? And where does that get me?" Draco said, sitting back up. "He's the fucking Chosen One! You think the world will let us be together?! No... they won't. Every one of those do-gooders will tell him that we're wrong, that I slipped him a love potion and I deserve to be in Azkaban!"
"You don't..." she started.
"Yes, I do! I'm only out because Potter saved me... and now I'm his bitch... right?" he said, and broke down, crying into her lap, again.
Pansy sighed, rubbing his back and let him get out the vitriol. "You're too self-involved to even ask me who I woke up with."
"What? Oh... sorry," he whispered, contrite. He was still her best friend. "Dare I ask?"
"Oh... yeah... it was Granger," she said and enjoyed the look of surprise on his face. "So you aren't the only one with problems, hun."
