Neville
Neville woke up fully clothed, unlike practically everyone else in the dorm. He felt, happy, well-rested and smiled at his fully-clothed sleeping companion. Justin was still out. Neville had always been too afraid to ask the nice Hufflepuff if he was interested in guys... or him. He never thought he'd be able to be forward with anyone, much less his crush. He had obviously said something last night, to get Justin to come to his room.
But the memories were gone. He had a slight headache, which he reached over to his table for some Whooping Willow bark to chew on for his headache. Thankfully, it slowly went away and Justin groaned in pain. He had some ready for him, when he woke up.
But fear started to set in. Justin wouldn't remember... Justin wouldn't know how he felt. He'd be shocked to see where he was, with a tree hugger like him. He might even be disgusted. Homosexuality isn't illegal anymore, but Neville knew that some people cared. They cared about it enough to deny their own feelings and condemn their friends and family for it. Some of his cousins had. Gran had always been supportive.
Justin could deny him, or that this happened. He could scorn him, he thought dreadfully. He nearly cried. But there was a clue. His clothes were still on and so were Justin's. Maybe... maybe Justin was just keeping him company? They weren't wrapped up in each other. They didn't have sex. Justin was straight, he grimaced. He's a good friend, who just stayed with him as a friend.
"Oww... my head," Justin growled.
"Here... take this. Don't swallow, just suck on it," Neville said, trying to hand him the bark.
Justin nearly leaped out of the bed, spluttering. "What?"
Neville was startled, but held up the bark. "It's Whooping Willow bark. Your headache will go away."
Justin's expression changed from horrified to confused to embarrassed in seconds flat. "Oh... I thought... umm... nothing... umm... so... umm... is this... umm... your room?" he rambled on, in a cute way.
Neville smiled and nodded. "Yeah... but here. Your head is probably killing you."
Justin slowly took a bit and chewed on you. "Thanks. Umm... are... you... umm... gay?"
Neville frowned and whispered, "Yeah. I've been afraid to come out."
Justin stepped forward. "You... you have?"
"Yeah... I really shouldn't be a Gryffindor. The Hat tried to put in Hufflepuff... but...."
"I always wished you had been. Then we would have been closer," Justin said.
Neville looked at him, feeling hope starting to tingle.
"I'm... umm... gay... too...."
Neville stood up. "You are? Justin... I've... been... too afraid to tell you that I... like you."
Justin smiled. "I like you too, Neville! Maybe we became boyfriends last night?"
"But... we... were still dressed? Why wouldn't we... umm... try it?" Neville asked, awkwardly.
"Well... I... never... umm... did it... umm... before," Justin stammered, more than he was.
"Me either," Neville said, smiling.
"Well... maybe... we just... talked? I wouldn't want to... do it... because of a potion."
Neville smiled. "Me either. I think... you're right."
"Well... Seamus has the answer in the common room," Justin said.
"Let's go!" Neville said and took Justin's hand.
