"Where's he taking you?" Kate asked.
Kate, Gwen and my mom were all sitting in my living room. Tonight was my date with Chase so obviously the girls wanted to come over to torture me about it and make it into a bigger deal than it was.
"I didn't ask." I shrugged. Kate and Gwen sighed. Seriously, I'd rather be hanging out with the guys right now.
"But... but... how do you know what to wear? Damn it Jill stop hanging out with guys all the time." Kate was getting annoyed. It made me chuckle. Wasn't I supposed to be the one freaking out?
"He texted me a few days ago telling me I should just wear something casual." I was relieved when I got that text. I wasn't the kind of girl to go on dates and get all dolled up. I didn't like guys opening doors for me or waiting for me to take a seat. It was bullshit.
"He texted you and you didn't bother to ask what you guys were doing? That's stupid as fuck!" Gwen added. She didn't watch her language even though my mom was in the room.
"I figured if he wanted me to know he'd tell me. Guys stop making me feel like a noob!" They were making me feel like this was my first date ever. Well, I guess technically it was but I had been in relationships before so I wasn't completely clueless.
"Fine. What are you wearing?" Kate said while sipping from her water. We weren't drinking because my mom was with us, not that she didn't know we drink but you know. Manners and such.
But still, water? Fish poop in water. That's my philosophy.
"I don't know yet..." I said carefully. They all groaned. Crap. I knew I shouldn't have said that.
"You know you don't have to go on this date if you don't want to." My mom had the worried momlook in her eyes.
Why wouldn't I want to go? To be honest I'd been looking forward to the date. I knew it was cheesy but it was alone time with Chase and that was the part I was looking forward to. I guess that's why I hadn't asked what we were doing. It didn't matter.
Maybe my lack of knowing what to wear translated in disinterest? I wouldn't know why my mom would ask me this otherwise.
"Who says I don't want to go? I'm going. You know what?" I stood up from the couch "I'm going to raid my closet right now."
You know those movies where people give inspirational speeches and then the people start shouting? Telling girls you're gonna raid your closet before a date has the same effect.
My mom had a knowing smile on her face. As if she wanted to hear that reaction from me. Sly woman, trying to provoke me like that.
"You should go for a skirt, that's cute." Kate told me.
"No way! She doesn't know what she's doing tonight. Skirts aren't safe, unless she's ready to flash her underwear." Gwen argued. Oh God. I was gonna die before I even got to go on this date.
"I don't know if I should set rules or anything, but don't flash your underwear on the first date." My mom fake reprimanded. I snorted. I really needed that life lesson.
"But it's okay on the second date?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Well, your father would say don't flash anything until you're thirty so I'm gonna go with that." Nice save, mom, nice save.
I was sitting on the bed while Kate and Gwen were arguing in front of my wardrobe. It was best not to interfere.
"So the guys aren't coming over to scare your date away like usually?" My mom asked. She decided not to interfere with the girls either.
"Nah. Code said he wanted to know how it went because he thinks it's weird. Snake is working and I don't think he'd scare Chase away since Snake works for his parents. Jake didn't really know what to do because he considers Chase a friend so he was gonna sit this one out. It's an unusual situation." I explained.
Code was the first one to know about the date. I had told him a few minutes after it had happened. I told him about the kiss and the date. I hadn't told him that Chase and I liked each other yet, because it had just happened and it felt a little too intimate to share. At least at that point.
Code had asked me at least ten times if I was joking and then just shrugged. He had said he didn't know what to think and that it was a little weird so he was just gonna wait and see how this would play out. I had to say my approach was similar.
I told Code that we would blow the whole thing off if he wasn't okay with it and it was true. Code was an amazing friend and I knew Chase cared a lot about this brother. Bros before hos and that applied to both of us, strangely enough.
On Monday during lunch I just got it over with. Gwen's reaction was, and I quote 'fucking called it!'. Kate's reaction was similar but not in those words. The other guys didn't really express their opinions, they just went with it. That meant they were okay with it. Believe me, if they weren't they'd start ranting or something. No reaction is a good reaction.
I ended up wearing a light grey skinny jeans, a thin black sweater and black combat boots to tie the outfit together. It was extremely casual, something I'd wear to school even. And it felt perfect.
Like I said, I don't like getting dolled up. People should just take me the way I am. I kept my makeup simple.
"Here, you should wear this instead of your usual lipstick." Gwen handed me a lipgloss and I smiled at her when I noticed it was vanilla flavored. She smirked at me.
She definitely wanted a juicy 온라인카지노게임 tomorrow. She wasn't gonna get one.
It appeared I got ready right on time because the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it." My mom said while rushing downstairs.
"Have fun and tell us everything tomorrow okay. We need details!" Kate said and Gwen gave her a high five. They were so strange together it freaked me out. In a good way. I think.
Shit. I hurried downstairs when I remembered Chase was talking to my mom.
For the first time.
Alone.
"You know, you do look familiar." My mom told Chase when I got downstairs.
"Maybe because you know Code? They are related you know." I told my mom in a fake condescending tone.
"Hi Chase." I smiled. It was nice seeing him. He was looking very casual with a dark blue jeans and a black hoodie.
"Hi Jill." He then turned to my mom "You lectured my Biology class once."
"Right! I was terrified that day" My mom chuckled. I still remembered the waffles she had baked that day.
"I didn't notice, the lecture was great." Chase shot my mom one of his genuine smiles and I think that was the moment she decided that she liked Chase.
"Alright, we should go before my mom wants to go in my place." I held Chase's upper arm and guided him outside.
"Be safe and don't do anything I wouldn't do" My mom winked.
"Am I supposed to know what she meant by that?" Chase asked me when the door behind us closed.
"I don't even know what she meant." I shrugged.
We got into the car. I was relieved he didn't open the door for me.
"I know it's cheesy to say this but you look beautiful." Chase smiled but kept his eyes on the road.
"You're right, that's cheesy. I was surprised you didn't open my door earlier." I snorted.
"I don't think you would've appreciated that." Chase replied. Huh. He knew me better than I'd thought.
"You're right. And you don't look that bad either. I mean obviously I'm the prettier one but you'll do." I joked.
"Funny. I don't like the whole door opening thing either. I mean, you're not disabled or anything. I don't see anything romantic in opening a fucking door." Chase started ranting. Whoa there.
"What is your idea of romantic then?" I asked him. He kept silent for a minute.
"I don't think I have an answer yet. I'll get back to you." He said eventually. I guess it was a hard question.
"Okay, can you at least tell me what we're doing tonight?" I decided to change the subject. Plus, we'd been driving for ten minutes and I didn't know where we were heading.
"Dinner and a movie." Chase said.
"Really? How original." I couldn't hide my disappointment. That was such a cliche thing to do. Don't get me wrong, I love eating and watching movies, I guess I'd expected something different from Chase.
"Don't worry, we're doing it Jill and Chase style" He winked at me. That sparked my curiosity. I decided not to dwell on it and just let it happen.
A few minutes later Chase parked the car and we went inside a Chinese restaurant. I'd never been there before and I loved Chinese food.
"It's an all you can eat buffet." Chase explained. All you can eat? That's amazing. I love those!
A few minutes later we were sitting at the table with a mountain of food on our plates. We got lost in all the food so we both took pretty much everything so we could taste from both of our plates. Yes, we were definitely strategic and serious when it came to food.
I noticed Chase had paid for both of us.
"So I open the door myself but you pay for the food?" I recapped.
"Exactly. If it bugs you, you can pay for the next date." He answered. It made me smile that he was already thinking about a next date.
"Who says you're getting a second date?" I smirked. I could see he was getting a little uncomfortable. He was probably kicking himself because he had let that slide.
"I didn't mean t-" I shoved an egg roll in his mouth to shut him up.
"Dude chill, I'm messing with you. We'll see how it goes." He nodded while chewing happily on his food. Even with his cheeks filled like a hamster he still looked adorable. Damn him.
We spent almost two hours talking and stuffing our faces with food.
"If I don't stop eating now I'm gonna explode." I really overdid it. I was grateful I wasn't wearing a tight dress because I had a foodbaby.
"Me too. I'm impressed with you though." He told me while eyeing my empty plate. Me too, I was pretty proud of myself.
"What can I say? I'm dedicated." Chase chuckled.
"Let's get out of here." He grabbed my hand and he only released to when we arrived at the car. It was getting cold outside and I was already missing his warm hand around mine.
During the car ride we got into a heated argument about how mermaids would reproduce. It was very funny how passionate we both got about that.
I hadn't even noticed Chase had stopped the car until he pointed it out.
I looked outside and noticed we were at his house.
"Dude, I don't put out that fast." I nudged him playfully.
"A guy can hope." He grinned mischievously. It still surprised me when his playful side came out.
Instead of going to the door we went around the house to his backyard. He had his hand on the small of my back to guide me. I had noticed that we were always touching each other one way or another. Not that I was complaining.
I gasped when I saw the scenery in front of me. There was a big white blanket attached to the wall of his garage. We were gonna watch a movie on that makeshift screen. In front of the screen there were two lawn chairs next to each other filled with blankets and pillows so we could sit or lie down comfortably. It looked incredible.
"Holy shit." Were the first words I could say.
"What d'you think?" Chase asked with a smile on his face. He had been watching my reaction so he already knew my opinion.
"Maybe I should put out." I said, still looking at the sight in front of me. Chase started laughing.
"Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back." He said and went inside. He didn't have to tell me twice.
I got rid of my shoes and sat down on the lawnchairs. I adjusted it so I was lieing but I could still see the screen perfectly, then I proceeded to cover myself with blankets. I was hoping I wouldn't fall asleep 'cause this was extremely cozy.
Chase got back with an ice bucket filled with all kinds of drinks, ranging from soft drinks to wine. In his other hand he had a bowl of popcorn. I wasn't gonna eat a lot of popcorn since I still felt stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving because of our dinner earlier.
I helped Chase with the buckets and he went over to the projector.
"What are we watching?" I looked up at him.
"The Notebook" He deadpanned. What?!
"You should've seen your face." Chase started laughing. I had actually fallen for that one.
"Shut up." I muttered but couldn't suppress my smile.
"We're watching Repulsion." As if this couldn't get any more perfect. It was one of my favorite movies. Repulsion is an old thriller, not a lot of people my age know it.
"I love Polanski!" I said excitedly while Chase was getting comfortable next to me.
"I know. I asked Code about it. He's my Jill whisperer." He scratched the back of his neck. It seemed as if he was uncomfortable admitting it.
"Jill whisperer? That's creepy, but effective." I smiled at him and shuffled against him so I was lying in his arms.
"Very effective." He answered after I was settled in his arms. I snorted.
"Shh, it's starting." I whispered. Ten minutes in I got thirsty but I really didn't want to move. Life was so hard. I accidently groaned.
"What's wrong?" I could hear the amusement in Chase's voice.
"I'm thirsty but I'm so comfortable here." I could feel his chest vibrate against me.
"Well, I'm pushing you away 'cause I'm thirsty too." He said, but didn't move a muscle.
"Anytime soon?" I teased him.
"I understand your struggle." He said seriously. We moved anyway and Chase opened the bottle of wine.
We clinked our glasses and took a sip. It was sweet tasting. We put the glasses on the little table next to Chase and then I impulsively kissed him before he could lie down again.
It only took him a fraction of a second to respond to my kiss. It started out sweet but it got more passionate very soon. He licked my lip, asking for entrance but instead of opening my mouth I bit his lower lip in response causing him to groan.
The kiss deepened shortly after that and our tongues were dancing with each other. My hands were playing with his hair and his hands were at my hips and the small of my back, pushing me closer to him if that was even possible.
Eventually we stopped kissing because my lungs were about the explode. That kiss was just as hot as our first kiss last week. It was hard stopping there.
"We're missing the movie." Chase's voice was still hoarse from the kiss and his eyes were dark. It made me want to kiss him all over.
"You're right, pay attention Chase!" I shoved him lightly. He pecked my lips and lied down again. My heart was still beating like crazy but when I went to lie down next to Chase I could feel his heart was matching mine.
I kissed the place underneath his ear and went back to watching the movie.
"You're evil." Chase said while holding me a little closer to him.
"I know but why this time?" I asked.
"You were teasing me with that little kiss." I chuckled. I knew that place underneath the ear was sensitive but I hadn't expected it to affect him that much.
"You mean this?" I kissed that place again but this time a little longer. Crap, I was getting turned on myself, I hadn't planned that.
He didn't respond with words but with sounds. He moved his face closer to mine.
"Revenge" He whispered in my ear and started kissing the same place but soon moved down my neck to my collarbone, driving me insane in the process.
"Chase" I moaned. Slightly pulling his hair with my hands.
Suddenly he stopped and I really wished he didn't.
"Fuck" He said against my skin. He was panting just as much as me.
"So... movie?" I said, feeling lightheaded.
He just nodded and turned his body. I hadn't even noticed he was hovering over me when he was attacking my neck with his lips.
It took me a while to get my body back to its normal state but I got there eventually. We were watching the movie again but it was almost over. I was lying comfortably in Chase's arms while his hand was massaging my head.
I always figured first dates were awkward but this was bliss. It didn't feel like a date, it felt like we were a couple, hanging out. But we weren't a couple. Right?
"What's happening here?" A familiar voice asked. Chase and I both looked and saw Chase's dad standing at the door.
"Crap I didn't know my parents were coming home tonight." He whispered so I would be the only one to hear it.
"No worries" I whispered back and squeezed him reassuringly.
I got up and went over to Derrick to greet him and he gave me a hug.
"I think you've got the wrong brother Jill" Derrick laughed.
"Well, since I can't have you it doesn't matter really." I shrugged. Just to be clear, I didn't mean a word but Derrick and I loved to boost each others self esteeem.
"I'm flattered" Derrick shot me a genuine smile that reminded me of Chase's.
"And I'm offended." Chase said behind me. I hadn't noticed he had walked up to us. My hand immediately went to his arm. Derrick noticed and gave us a knowing look.
"You'll get over it." I cooed and Chase rolled his eyes.
"I'm gonna leave you kids." Derrick said. He obviously knew he was interrupting something.
"What do you mean? You're not joining us? I could kick Chase out." But really, I was relieved we could go back to our date.
"As much as you make me feel like a young man again, I'm gonna have to decline, seeing as my son is glaring daggers at me." Derrick chuckled.
When Derrick got back inside we heard Paula asking "What are the kids doing?"
"Making grandbabies." Derrick replied loud enough to know we'd hear him.
"Alright but not too loud I want to sleep." Paula replied and then Chase's parents started laughing. They were crazy.
"That's highly disturbing." Chase looked grossed out. I laughed.
"Come on we can still catch the ending of the movie." I dragged Chase back to the lawn chairs.
Ten minutes later the movie was over. We ended up talking for another hour.
"I should take you home." Chase said reluctantly.
"Are you sure you can drive? We've been drinking wine." Nothing better than to end a date in a drunken car accident.
"Yep." He showed me his glass and I could see he had only taken a few sips. The glass wasn't nearly empty.
That's how we ended up back in the car ten minutes later.
"My body has a lot of digesting to do from that dinner." I overshared.
Chase chuckled. "Mine too."
When we arrived at my house I was disappointed. This date went by too fast and I didn't really wanted it to end. Ever.
"I'm gonna do one last cheesy thing and that's walking you to your door. But only for selfish reasons." Chase grinned.
"Selfish reasons?" I asked.
"Yeah I get to see you a little longer." That was charming as fuck. I laughed and shook my head.
"So when's our next date?" I asked while facing Chase. We were standing in front of my door and I didn't want to go inside yet.
"Who says you're getting a second date?" He used my own words against me.
I took a tiny step towards him, invading his personal bubble but I didn't do anything.
"Fine, no second date then." I said with a challenging look.
"That one bit me in the ass." Chase frowned, making me laugh.
I didn't know what possessed me to snake my arms around his waist and hug him because I wasn't really a hugger. Although Chase might be the exception. I took a deep breath and smelled his cologne.
"Did you just sniff me?" Chase asked. I let him go so I could look him in the face. He was hiding his smiling but failing at doing so.
"Of course I was." We laughed. I should've been embarrassed but it was the truth. I was sniffing him and I'd do it again.
"You're crazy but I like you anyway." Chase smiled. He sounded so sincere that it warmed me to the core. If it was cold outside, I wouldn't know.
"I like you too." I replied. I didn't even have to think about it. I liked Chase and this date was more than I'd expected it to be.
We kissed but I stopped before it could get to heated. No way was I going inside turned on like a fifteen year old hormonal boy about to lose his virginity.
I couldn't help but smile at Chase's pout when the kiss had stopped.
Chase still had his hands on my waist and my hands were resting against his chest. It seemed like a nice chest, might I add.
"I don't want this date to end but I really should get inside." I groaned.
"I know." Chase said while absentmindedly rubbing my back up and down.
"I'll hear from you tomorrow?" Chase said but it sounded more like a question.
"Of course." I smiled.
We gave each other one last peck on the lips. Yes, a peck. I didn't think we'd trusted ourselves enough to go for a real kiss.
I sighed when I got inside and jumped a little when I heard my mom's voice. I was surprised she was still awake.
"You were standing outside for almost half an hour. How was it?" Mom asked excitedly.
"It was ... kinda perfect." I had a ghost of a smile on my face. God, I sounded cheesy.
"Interesting." My mom smirked. "I'm going to bed but you're giving me details tomorrow." She kissed my cheek and went upstairs.
Tomorrow I was gonna get grilled and not just by my mom.
I was happy to stay in my cocoon of happiness for a little while longer.
