"PARTY!" Gwen shouted like a drunk caveman.
"Let me take that bottle from you" We were doing our little ritual before we went out but we drank a little more than we usually do. Not on purpose or anything, we were just having fun.
Friday came around quickly and I really had been looking forward to the party. It was another frat party because those were cheap and fun.
Code was coming too. We hadn't gone out together in a while which is weird since Code and I do pretty much everything together. And by everything I mean playing games and bug Bus and stuff like that. Lately he'd been hanging out with Jacob during the weekends so we hadn't gone out together in a while.
"You know, that dress really makes me doubt my sexuality" Gwen said while putting on her high heels. Ah yes, I was wearing the dress she had bought me for my birthday.
I prefer comfy clothes but I guess every once in a while you gotta dress sexy. Today was that day. I shouldn't have eaten that many tacos earlier. I felt bloated. Not a sexy feeling now is it?
"Until we get there and you ditch me for a hot college guy" I said while grabbing some clothes. I was gonna stay over at Code's place and there was no way I was gonna wear this tight dress longer than necessary.
"You know it. Mama needs some sugar" Gwen sang.
"No. Gwen. Just, no." You don't say stuff like that, even when you're not sober anymore. You just don't.
Gwen started giggling. Yep, okay, too much booze.
"I'm ready! Let's go" Gwen grabbed my hand and we left my room. Someone was eager.
We were all in the mood to go out actually.
When we arrived at Code's place he was already sitting on the porch. He graciously threw my bag with my pajamas and extra pair of clothes in the hallway without looking and closed the door.
Such a sweet guy.
Yesterday Code ran up to me, forcing me to tell the monkeypoo 온라인카지노게임. He said he had asked Chase over and over again and now he wanted to hear my version. As if that would've been an entirely different version.
Code was eating it up. He probably had been torturing Chase nonstop.
I was jealous. I wanted to torture too.
"So where's the party at?" Code asked us. To be honest, I had no idea. Gwen always seemed to know where we were going. I never questioned it.
"It's the same place Jill and I went to last time." Gwen said excitedly.
"Was that the party where she got her piercing?" Code asked. Oh, now I remembered. That was a great party. Well, I think. Not sure.
I nudged Code in his ribs.
"Just so you know, if you get drunk and someone wants to give you a piercing, I'm not stopping them" I fake glared at Code. He just laughed at that. I honestly didn't think he'd mind if he'd wake up with a piercing.
"Hey what about me?" Gwen pouted.
"Well you probably would get a nipple piercing and I'm not going anywhere near that" We all laughed at that joke. Even though we weren't sure if it was a joke. I could see that happening for sure.
When we arrived the party was in full force. It always was because we left quite late. I didn't see anyone I knew but I did see some familiar faces. You know, those people that go to every party but you never talk to.
Without looking at each other we all automatically went to the drinks. That's friendship telepathy for you. Or thirst.
An hour later Gwen was nowhere to be seen and Code was sitting on the couch talking to some people. I was heading over to Code after my refill.
This dress was definitely dangerous. Especially in a place with a lot of horny guys. Luckily they understood the word no.
"There's my queen!" Nate came up to me.
Even though I didn't know him that well I considered him a friend. He had made sure we stayed at his dorm when Gwen, Jake and I were out of it during the last party. Plus, he just called me queen.
"Nate! Great seeing you here" I grinned at him.
I remembered seeing him for the first time. He was Chase's friend. I think they had classes together but I'm not sure.
"I know right" He nudged.
"Hey have you seen Chase lately?" I wanted to know if he already knew about the monkey 온라인카지노게임. If not, I'd be honored to tell him.
"Yep, yesterday. He told me about the zoo. I almost got kicked out of class because I was laughing too hard. Man, Jill, I'm so jealous you got to witness that beautiful moment." Nate and I started laughing again. He should be jealous.
It sucked that Chase had already told him. He told Code too before I had the chance. Not fair. Okay, maybe a little fair since he had to endure it.
"It truly was a magical moment. I wish I could've recorded it." I really did. I mean, it was already playing over and over again in my head, but still.
"You'd be YouTube famous." Nate grinned.
"So Chase's not here?" I kinda figured there was a chance he'd be here since Nate's here.
"Nope, the poor guy had to finish his animal essay." Man, working for school on a Friday night. That's something nobody should have to go through. Ever.
"At least he's got some great memories to keep him company." I wanted to smirk but I couldn't help but genuinly smile.
"Yeah not just about the monkeys" Nate said suggestively. The only thing missing was an eyebrow wiggle.
Crap, maybe the guy had a crush on some hot Harvard chick. That would suck.
"What do you mean?" I eyed Nate suspiciously.
"Nothing. Didn't you guys have fun?" Nate said innocently. Yeah, there was something he wasn't telling me.
"Besides the monkey incident you mean? Yes, actually. It was a lot of fun." I took a few sips from my drink. Nate did the same.
"That's great." Nate winked. Weird guy. The alcohol was probably getting to his brain.
"Gwen texted to say we could go without her. Hi Nate." Code appeared behind me. It seemed as if Gwen was getting very lucky tonight. That dog.
"Code, I haven't seen you in a while. Nice hair." Nate said while looking at Code's fauxhawk. I should probably fix his hair soon since the sides were growing back.
"Thanks man. Jill did it." Code said while ruffling my hair. I ruffled his hair back, at least I wanted to but he stepped aside. Damn guys for being tall.
"Jill, you seem full of surprises. All I hear about you is bad jelly beans, drunken tongue piercings and monkeypoo adventures. Can I hire you as a best friend?" I guess Nate was right. We never really had any normal encounters. If so he'd know my life wasn't that eventful at all.
"I can fix you up with a price" Code said while leaning his elbow on my shoulder. Now it was my turn to take a step aside. I didn't like it when people leaned on me like that. Yes, I'm not a very tall person, don't take advantage of that. Thank you.
"You'd sell me?" I fake gasped.
"Nah, I'd rent you out. I'll get more money that way" Code deadpanned. I had amazing friends. Seriously. The love is strong.
A few hours later we were back on our way to Code's. Without Gwen.
"Good thing I came along. You can't walk alone at night wearing that." Code pointed at my dress. He didn't say it as a compliment though. More like a nuisance.
I sighed. "I know, but Gwen bought it so I had to wear it at least once." Don't get me wrong I liked the dress. No, I loved the dress. It just didn't seem appropriate to wear it to a party where everyone would rather tear the dress apart, if you catch my drift.
"I get it. But people were eyeing you like a piece of meat." Code scrunched his nose thinking about it. Like I hadn't noticed.
"Aw were you worried Cutie?" I cooed and pinched Code's cheek.
He slapped my hand away pretty fast. I laughed when I noticed my pinch had left a tiny red mark on his cheek. He started poking my ribs as revenge.
-
I woke up in Code's bed. He had a guestroom but when I saw his bed yesterday I jumped on it and fell asleep within seconds. I guess I had been tired. Alcohol always made me tired.
Luckily I wasn't hung over. I hadn't had too much to drink yesterday. I noticed Code was sleeping on the floor. The guy could literally sleep anywhere so I didn't feel sorry for him.
I quickly changed into my tight skinny jeans, a tank top and an oversized sweater that was a little see through. Hence the tank top.
Yawning I went downstairs. I had no idea what time it was but I figured it wasn't even noon yet. I scratched the back of my head and noticed my hair still seemed in place. Awesome.
"Morning" Chase said when I arrived in the kitchen, my favorite place in this house. In every house. He was wearing sweat pants and a shirt. I noticed he always wore something like that when he was at home and wasn't expecting any visitors.
I groaned something in return. I'm not a morning person so I didn't even pretend.
Chase chuckled. "Want some coffee? You look like you could use some."
Thanks.
I didn't drink coffee often, only when I was really tired. I guess I was tired now. I could go for coffee. So I nodded my head in response.
A few minutes later Chase presented me with a nice steaming mug of coffee.
"Milk, cream, chocolate bars?" I laughed.
"No thanks. I drink my coffee black. Just like my soul." I added dramatically.
"Or your heart." Chase joked.
"You hurt me. Hey I saw Nate yesterday. Too bad he already knew about the zoo" I pouted.
"Oh you talked to Nate? Yeah, I told him since he would've found out one way or another." Chase seemed surprised I had talked to Nate. He probably forgot that I'd already slept in his dorm once when I got drunk.
I took a sip of my coffee.
Something was wrong.
The coffee tasted weird. It tasted 'thin' if that makes sense.
"What did you do to this coffee?" I eyed Chase suspiciously.
His facial expression was neutral but I noticed amusement in his eyes. Something was definitely up.
"Nothing, it's supposed to taste like that." Chase said with a shrug.
"What does that even mean?" This was it. This was his prank. No doubt about it. This coffee tasted like shit.
"It's Kopi Luwak." Chase said casually. At least he tempted to sound casually. I noticed a playful tone in his voice.
Kopi Luwak. I knew I'd heard about that before but I couldn't seem to remember what that was. The name sounded weird. Damn it where do I know that name from.
Chase was watching my every move. He could probably see my thought process clearly written on my face.
Oh no.
"Chase you dick!" I ran to the sink and started spitting and drinking water from the tap. I heard Chase's booming laughter in the background.
Let me explain.
Kopi Luwak is catpoo. Basically the coffee beans get eaten by these catlike creatures and then they shit. I didn't know a lot about it but I knew enough to know that I pretty much had been drinking cat poo.
"Gross man. I'm gonna brush my teeth." I ran upstairs. Chase was still laughing, I couldn't help but crack a smile at that.
I brushed my teeth three times. It still didn't seem like enough but decided to leave it at that anyway.
When I got back downstairs Chase was sitting on the couch. I went to sit next to him and he burst out in laughter again.
"Gotta hand it to you. That was a great prank. I'm impressed." I smiled, showing him I wasn't mad or anything. Not that I seemed mad earlier. Okay, maybe a little.
"I know, I'm proud of myself." Chase grinned.
"This isn't over Chase. I'm gonna get you back." I poked his arm and tried to look serious but I knew I was failing miserably.
"Bring it on" Chase said confidently. He felt invincible now, but that wouldn't last long. Revenge was mine. You gotta love prank wars.
It was quiet for a moment. Chase was just sitting on the couch and I was sitting next to him but my body was aimed towards Chase instead of the TV.
I hadn't noticed I'd been watching him until I saw him looking back at me. Busted.
Slowly he inched his face closer to mine. Was he doing what I thought he was doing? I decided to wait a little longer because it would be awkward if I leaned in but it turned out I only had something on my chin.
Until his face was only a few inches from mine. He was moving slowly, giving me enough chance to back out if I didn't want anything to happen. Little did he know that it was the opposite. I closed the gap between us because I couldn't wait any longer.
And then we were kissing.
His lips felt warm and soft against mine.
The kiss was nice but my legs were cramping so I moved my body on top of his. I was straddling him on the couch. We didn't break the kiss while doing this.
He quickly dominated the kiss. I hadn't pegged him like that kind of guy but I loved every second of it. He could lead the way, I'd gladly follow.
I was holding on to his shirt and he had his hands on the back of my head. He was rubbing my head lightly. It reminded me of when you are at the hairdresser and they wash your hair but it feels like you're getting a headmassage. Needless to say Chase's hands were relaxing me.
The kiss deepened, that and the massaging caused me to moan. Whoa there Jill, it's just a kiss. This was proof it had been too long.
His hands slowly moved down my spine and rested at my waist, causing goosebumps to erupt all over my body. My hands moved from his shirt to the back of his neck.
I noticed he was playing a little with my piercing with his tongue. That little shit. So now I knew what it felt like to kiss with my tongue piercing. I guess it's more fun for the other person, since I didn't really notice a lot of difference.
I pulled his hair a little bit to tease him and he groaned against my mouth. Things were definitely heating up.
I didn't want this kiss to end but I knew the end was near. If it would last any longer my lungs would explode. Damn it. It felt like I needed this kiss more than I needed oxygen.
We finally broke apart, both of us panting.
We didn't say anything. If we would talk the kiss would definitely be over. The moment would be over. The spell would be broken. Reality would kick back in.
I wanted to stay in this moment of bliss longer than I knew was possible.
Who knew the guy could kiss like that?
And what do you say after a kiss like that? Everything would sound ridiculous in comparison.
"You're lucky I just brushed my teeth three times." I said. Chase laughed.
"I am" Chase said. His voice sounded a little hoarse and it made me want to kiss him all over again.
I decided to sit back on the couch. I'd been straddling him all this time.
There was a shift in the atmosphere. Even the little distance I just created between the two of us couldn't change that.
"We should talk about this though" I could just kick myself. I knew talking about it was necessary but I didn't want to ruin this moment already.
I just had to know what was going on in that head of his. I had to know.
"Just give me a minute to collect my thoughts." Chase said. Clearly I wasn't the only one feeling this way. Knowing that was kinda relieving. But it just didn't seem possible to have a kiss like that and only one person affected by it.
"Okay" I eventually replied. I suddenly realised I hadn't reacted yet.
"So" Chase said. Obviously not knowing where to begin.
"I'll start. You know I don't just kiss random people. It's obvious that I like you." I wasn't gonna wait for a confession. I wanted to get that off my chest ever since I found out about my feelings.
"It wasn't obvious actually. So I'm glad that you're being this forward about it." Chase replied. I guess sometimes it's hard to read me for guys since I have a lot of guyfriends. They often think I'm just being a friend when I'm feeling something more.
"Right. Well, you know me, I don't sugarcoat. Honestly, I've been wanting to tell you ever since the zoo." I wasn't stupid. I knew he hadn't said it yet. He was either thinking about a way to say it back or thinking about a way to turn me down gently.
"I like you too. A lot. And I've been thinking about it for weeks." For weeks? He had had feelings for me that long? Holy shit I had been blind.
"I've been torturing Nate with it" He chuckled. I could see he felt a bit uncomfortable talking about this. I guess it's always risky to tell someone what you're feeling.
That would explain the Nate's vibe yesterday. Everything was becoming clear. I had the feeling Nate wasn't telling me something and for a minute I had thought Chase had a crush on a college girl.
"So we both like each other. Where does that leave us?" I asked carefully.
"Well I'd like to take you on a date first. Usually it's a date first and then a kiss but I guess we're not that conventional." We laughed.
"A date? People still do that?" It seemed so oldfashioned. I don't think I've ever been on an official date before. I mean, I went to the movies or grabbed a dinner with boyfriends before but it never seemed like a date date you know. More like hanging out.
Chase shrugged "I do. So what do you say Jill, can I take you out on a date?" He held my hand in both of his to make this moment a little dramatic, causing me to chuckle.
"Sure, why not." I was wondering how cliche this date was gonna be. It could be fun.
"Next weekend? Or is that too soon?" Chase asked. Too soon? I'd go on a date right now. Spending time with Chase wasn't actually something I'd dread.
"Next weekend works fine for me." Chase gave me one of his genuine smiles. I really wanted to kiss him again but I guess I had to wait another week.
"And if you play your cards right you might get another kiss next weekend" I teased.
"You know how to motivate me." That made me think of that dopamine comment he had made earlier this week. I guess motivating took another turn. It wasn't about food anymore.
I gave him a quick kiss on his cheek and went back upstairs.
This was gonna be a long week.
