I'm Jill and these are five random facts about me 1. A day spent with Nutella is a day well spent. 2. My best... More
My birthday came around fairly quick. My mom had woken me up with chocolate muffins. That's the only reason I wasn't mad at her.
Unfortunately I still had school. Why? No idea. Birthdays are holidays.
Anyway at least I got to ditch detention. On Friday the teachers really don't give a rat's ass so when he fell asleep Code and I made our escape.
So here I was, waiting for my guests to arrive. They were supposed to arrive at eight so I still had a few minutes to enjoy the solitude.
Who are we kidding here? I hated solitude so hurry the fuck up.
I just got off the phone with my dad. He'd asked me whether I felt different now that I was eighteen. I get that question every year and every year I give the same answer; no.
How can you suddenly feel different than the day before? Life doesn't work that way.
But then again if you ask me if I felt any different from when I was fifteen my answer would be yes. And thank God for that. Fifteen isn't a pretty age. Don't disagree with me, I won't believe you.
Plus, it's rude to disagree with the birthday girl. Yep, I'm allowed to use that as an excuse today.
"We're here!" I heard someone yell, followed by a lot of noise. You don't say, I hadn't noticed someone had barged though the front door.
"Happy birthday!" Gwen shouted and threw some confetti on me. As if they hadn't seen me at school today.
I looked at the bunch of losers in the hallway. They all looked happy and were holding presents, which made me happy.
What? I'm a gift person. Don't judge me.
Gwen, Snake, Code, Jake and Chase all came together. I'd figured as much. The only people that weren't there were Kate and her friend.
I'd told her she could bring a friend since we don't really hang out with the same people. I wonder which victim she had dragged along with her. Her friends weren't exactly keen on hanging out with us, especially for 24 hours.
My thoughts got interrupted by the door bell. At least someone had manners.
"Happy birthday sis! There's some confetti in your hair." Kate had brought one of her girlfriends I'd never seen before. She had chocolate brown hair and amber colored eyes. She didn't look too plastic. Her makeup was simple and her clothes weren't that revealing.
"Hi, I'm Tessa. Happy birthday!" She gave me a polite smile. It was obvious she was feeling a bit uncomfortable. Nothing booze couldn't fix.
"Thanks, I'm Jill. Make yourself at home" I gestured for them to go to the lounge where everyone was seated.
They were all sitting on the ground. I'd made a fort of blankets and pillows so we could all sit or lie down on the floor without getting cramps. I'd shoved the couch out of the way. I'd say it was cozy.
"We're all here! Guys this is Tessa, don't scare her off just yet okay?" Tessa blushed a bit. She was just too cute. Like a little puppy.
"I love your little fort Jilly, you should leave it like this" Jake was making a snow angel. Or a blanket angel? You know what I mean.
"Everyone's here so I'm making cocktails" Snake disappeared to the kitchen. Even when he wasn't in his own house he couldn't help but act like the host. I wasn't stopping him.
We were all sitting in a circle now. I was sitting next to a lying Jake and a hyperactive Gwen.
A few minutes later Snake reappeared with a buttload of cocktails. He also brought some shotglasses for later and food. A lot of food. From desserts to deep fried foods.
Excuse me while I wipe the drool away.
"So when are we taking shots? I'm more of a shot person than a cocktail person." I grinned.
"Figured as much" Chase smiled, obviously remembering our GoT drinking game.
"As if you have a preference. You'll drink anything with alcohol" Gwen said while clinking her cocktail glass with mine.
"Gift time!" Code yelled. Just what I was thinking.
We high fived each other and Gwen almost choked on her drink because it was in front of her face. It's her own fault, she shouldn't have been sitting between Code and me.
After some coughing Gwen managed to say "Me first!"
I was getting excited. Her gift was the biggest one of all.
"Wait! Let's do a shot before we begin" Snake said and started giving everyone a piece of lemon. After the glasses had been filled with tequila and the salt had been passed it was time to drink this sucker.
"To Jill!" Jake shouted and everyone followed after. Very moving.
After the shot it was gift time. My favorite part.
Gwen carefully placed the huge wrapped box in front of me and started biting her nails in anticipation. I would've laughed at that but I was kinda busy unwrapping the present.
And by unwrapping I mean violently tearing the paper apart.
I looked at the content and noticed it was a black dress. I picked it up and held it in front of me.
Damn.
Jake whistled.
It was a tight black dress with studs and it was cut out at the ribs. Needless to say it was a very sexy dress, something I didn't wear that often.
"Whoa, thanks Gwen" It looked quite expensive and it seemed a perfect mix between something Gwen would often wear and something I'd wear.
"When I saw it I just had to buy it. Do you like it?" Gwen asked excitedly.
"Of course! I love it" Gwen hugged me. Since it's my birthday I'll allow it.
"There's also a note!" Gwen grinned mischievously. Oh boy.
I started reading it. "Hey! Read it out loud" Snake whined. Baby.
I rolled my eyes "Fine"
You're finally eighteen, my little Jill
I know you're usually pretty chill
but with this present you'll be dressed to kill
seeing you wear this is gonna be a thrill
but if you tear it...
I turned the note around
... I'll murder you
We all laughed at this. I should've known it was gonna say something like that.
"Now wear it!" Gwen yelled.
"What, now?" This was a special occasion dress.
"Go on we wanna see that hot stuff" Jake winked at me. Gross.
I ran upstairs and rapidly changed into the dress. It was tight, hugging all my curves. Not that I had a lot of curves. It didn't look too slutty either. I'd figured the cutouts were gonna be slightly too revealing but to my surprise it was flattering, showing off my waist.
The studs gave it an edgy finish. Just the way I like it.
When I got back downstairs everyone was cheering for me. Obviously they'd taken another shot while I was changing.
"Okay, who's next?" I asked.
"Snake and I got you this" Jake handed me another box. It was wrapped but it clearly wasn't done by the guys. It looked to neatly done.
"But first this one! It's from me alone" Jake wiggled his eyebrows. Should I be scared?
It was a little gift and he had wrapped it himself. Clearly. It looked like shit but it was the thought that counted.
I tore the paper away and started to laugh. "A framed picture of your bike? You shouldn't have" I showed everyone the picture. That moron.
"Now our present!" Snake said. He clearly couldn't wait anymore.
I gasped when I saw what was inside of the box. Oh my. This was perfect.
"Snake and I each designed our own. This one's mine" Jake said while handing me the shoe. They'd bought my Chuck Taylors that they'd designed themselves. They looked awesome.
They were crimson colored but Jake's shoe had a little motorcycle painted on it and some cool looking black swirls. Snake's shoe had a chef's hat and a little knife painted it on and a little bear. I chuckled. The first time I'd met Snake I'd told him he was a bear of a guy. The shoes really looked incredible.
"Thanks guys, they're seriously the most awesome shoes ever" So far, so good. These presents were the best.
"Damn my present sucks compared to this" Code moped.
"Dude, you know I expect the most from you" I winked. To be honest, I really did. He likes thinking about gifts so I know he'd spent some time on his gift.
Code handed me a few boxes. Yes, a few. As in, multiple gifts. I was already looking forward to it.
"Oh and Chase pitched in a little but he got his own gift" I looked at Chase who was nodding.
"I told you you didn't have to" I said but I couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah yeah, don't get mushy. Open it!" Code was getting impatient, as always.
Seriously these presents were awesome. Code and Chase had bought me weird Japanese food. You know, it's like powder but when you add water it turns into actual food. It looked crazy.
"Oh my god! We're so making this tomorrow!" Everyone looked a bit disgusted when I said this except for the brothers.
"I stumbled upon this and it screamed your name so I got you this little something" Chase handed me a little wrapped gift.
It was weird he'd actually went out and bought me something. Maybe this was his real prank? No, I don't think so. Although it would be very unexpected if it was.
I looked at his face but I couldn't read anything. He was just eating some snacks and waiting for me to open it.
Tearing at the wrapping paper it revealed a little carton box. I opened it and saw a candy necklace. Nom nom an edible necklace. I remembered these from when I was little. They were awesome.
Then I spotted something else in the box. It were cookieshaped earrings. They looked so cute and so real. I was tempted to take a bite but decided against it.
"Thanks so much Chase!" I said while putting the earrings in.
"You should've bought her a cookie piercing" Code laughed. Even though that'd be awesome, I didn't think that existed.
"That just leaves us" Kate said.
"What do you mean us?" Kate was the last person left.
"Yep, Tessa chipped in" Tessa smiled at me.
"Really, you shouldn't have, we don't even know each other" If my friends don't buy me presents, I'd kick their ass but I don't expect the same from strangers.
"It was no big deal" Tessa shrugged. She'd been quiet but I guess being in a room with strangers can be a bit overwhelming.
"Seriously, it's even a surprise you're here. Did Kate bribe you?" Even her boyfriend wasn't dedicated enough to join us. But he's a sissy so I didn't really care.
"No, she's a new student since this year" Kate grinned. That would explain it.
"Oh, so that's why I've never seen her before" Even though this school year had started several months ago.
"Never? Always the perceptive one, Jill" Jake rolled his eyes at me.
"So you know Tessa?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. No way in hell he'd know her. He doesn't even remember his hook ups.
Jake nodded "Oh so she's one of your hook ups?" Code asked Jake. We all laughed, except for Tessa, she was blushing.
"No way, he doesn't remember his hook ups" Gwen had said exactly what I was thinking earlier.
"She's not. I just remember the pretty girls at school" Jake said. He exchanged a look with Tessa.
You're fucking kidding me.
Tessa was the girl? Tessa was the girl?
I looked around but noone had noticed the little exchange that had just happened between Jake and Tessa, except for me. Who's perceptive now, huh?
Jake caught me looking at Tessa and him, who were conveniently sitting next to each other and gave me a surreptitious wink. I pinched his cheek.
"Anyway..." Kate sighed, giving me the present. "This one's just from me."
"Is it a bunny? Because they can't breathe in this" I asked while receiving the wrapped gift.
"Funny. Your dad said no by the way" Kate looked sad. I knew this was gonna happen.
"So are you guys stepsisters or something?" Chase asked, looking confused.
"Yep, well not officially but we don't need a piece of paper to declare our sisterly love to each other right boo?" Kate cooed. I snorted.
"What she said" I told Chase. Kate nudged me playfully.
I opened the gift and noticed a little makeup bag with some mascara and eyeliner. The things I usually wear.
"So you're getting things that will either make you fat or make you look good. Guys, I think we did a great job" Gwen said. We laughed. It was true though, I'd gotten food or clothing items. Or makeup and jewelry. My friends know me well.
"And this one's from Tess and me" Kate handed me an envelope.
I had to savor this moment. This is the last gift.
"You're mentally preparing yourself for the last gift aren't you?" Code said, laughing. Busted.
"Shut up" I muttered and opened the envelope. It was a gift card for Victoria's Secret.
Jake looked at it "I'll help you shop, no problem"
I nudged him "Dream on buddy"
"Thanks Kate and especially you Tessa" She gave me a genuine smile.
After some talking and a lot of drinking Gwen said "So, what do we do now? Spin the bottle or something?"
I snorted.
"What are we? Twelve?" Apparently Gwen was the only one that wanted to play this game.
I looked around and noticed something. There were four guys and four girls. This has never happened before. Ever.
Guys had always been in the majority.
"Oh my god I can't believe there are four guys and four girls. This can't be happening. Am i dreaming? Is this real life?" I said dramatically.
"Wow, we should totally do makeovers and have naked pillow fights" Jake said in a girly voice.
"Be careful what you wish for" I grinned mischievously.
A makeover sounded like the perfect idea.
Jake looked happy "Are we having naked pillow fights?" Suddenly Gwen slapped Jake on the back of his head.
"No but I'm thinking the guys definitely need a makeover" I smiled.
"We should have a competition! The girl that can make the most beautiful drag wins." Tessa said. Okay, I might like her. That was an awesome idea.
Everyone started cheering except for the guys. They were looking for an escape. Yeah, not happening.
"I'm getting the makeup!" Gwen was already running upstairs. They were definitely not getting out of this one.
I didn't have that much makeup but Gwen always left her makeup at my place so over the past year I'd gotten quite the collection. Plus, Kate had brought a little makeup bag with her since she was staying an entire day.
A few seconds later Gwen got back with her arms filled with makeup. She was out of breath. It was obvious she'd been running, probably afraid the guys had talked us out of it.
No way.
"So are we timing this?" Kate asked curiously.
"Nah, let's just make it as pretty as possible" Gwen answered her. Needless to say we were very excited about this.
"Don't we get a say in this?" Code groaned.
"NO!" The girls collectively said. Damn. Shit was getting real.
A few seconds later I was sitting opposite Chase with some makeup next to me. I'd picked him since he knew me best of all the girls. Code and Gwen were teamed up, Snake and Kate and surprise surprise, Jake was teamed up with Tessa.
There was definitely something going on between them. I was gonna find out what. Not tonight, but soon. They looked cute together. Even though Tessa seemed so innocent and Jake was anything but.
"Let's make you pretty" I said with a grin that almost hurt my cheeks.
"I'm afraid" Chase chuckled. As he should be.
I started with applying a primer all over his face. This gave me some time to study his face.
It looked like he didn't need any foundation. His skin was pretty flawless. That was so unfair. I hated people with flawless skin. Sometimes girls smear a lot of crap on their face and even then their skin won't even look as great as Chase's. Like I said, not fair.
Well, I shouldn't really complain, my skin wasn't that bad either.
Chase hadn't noticed I was studying his face because he was doing the same with mine. We were sitting pretty close.
"You have freckles. They suit you" Chase suddenly said, breaking the silence.
I didn't like my freckles but I didn't bother putting makeup on them either. It was only on my nose.
"Only when I've been in the sun" I shrugged. During winter, my skin was clear. And pale. But let's not go there.
"Let's start with eyeshadow" I said while looking at the makeup I'd been handed. His eyes were a dark blue so I figured some earth tones would fit perfectly.
Yes, I was taking this competition seriously.
"Don't you dare make me look like a sparkly fairy!" I heard Code yell. Knowing Gwen, she'd be relentless.
"I don't know, sparkles would suit you" Chase answered him. Code glared in his direction. "Get him back good Jill" Code said, pointing at me.
Chase and I laughed at him. Poor Code.
"Close your eyes" I told Chase. Too bad his eyes were closed. They were so pretty. Weird to think a few months ago I didn't even know the color of his eyes.
I gently applied the eyeshadow.
"This is relaxing" Chase said. I was so close to him that I could feel his breath tickle my face. His breath smelled like lemons, probably because of the shots we'd been taking.
"I can do this more often, all you have to do is ask" Putting make up on guys. Who knew it could be so much fun.
"No need" Chase gave me one of his smiles. Up close I could see how his smile could light up his entire face. No wonder his smiles were so contagious. They always seemd so genuine. Unlike Jake's smirks all the time.
"Okay, keep your eyes closed and don't freak out. I'm applying eyeliner now" I decided to go all out on the eyeliner, applying it very thick with a big wing. It was still decent though, it wasn't even as bad as Amy Winehouse. Although it was pretty close.
"You can open them" I wanted to see the result with his eyes open. I felt like I could make his face better and by better I meant more ridiculous.
Suddenly I felt his thumb in between my eyebrows. I looked surprised.
"You were frowning" Chase said seriously. I smiled immediately.
Something about this moment felt so intimate but it wasn't. It was probably all the alcohol in my system or our proximity.
"I tend to frown when I'm concentrating" I explained, still looking in his eyes. The eyelook looked pretty awesome, if I say so myself.
"It's your birthday, you should be smiling" Chase said.
I looked at his lips and started thinking about the perfect color. His lips were full but not too much. Just perfect for a guy. Damn he was blessed with his facial features.
I decided to put my favorite lipstick on his lips, the one I used almost daily because it gives your lips that extra touch without making it too obvious you have lipstick on.
I snorted when I looked at the result. He really did look ridiculous.
"This is my favorite lipstick, I use it all the time" I said, grinning when I noticed him pouting a little.
"So indirectly we just kissed" Chase said. He was blushing slightly, looking adorable. Well, he didn't look adorable, he looked fabulous.
Blush! That's what I'd forgotten!
"Okay, now you're scaring me" Apparently my entire demeanor had changed when I got the idea. Oh he should be scared alright.
I started on the blush and decided to put some highlighter on his cheekbones to make them glow a little. He was such a pretty mangirl.
Taking a step back I studied his face one last time. Not bad.
"I'm so proud of myself" I said.
I hadn't noticed we were the last to finish. I guess I'd been too focused, the rest of the world had been drowned out.
"Everyone done?" Gwen asked. Oh her face definitely looked like trouble.
A few seconds later all the dragqueens were standing next to each other. Code definitely looked the most ridiculous. One word: sparkles.
His eyes were sparkly blue, his cheeks were sparkling and he was wearing bright pink lipgloss. I was almost crying from laughter, this was too perfect.
Jake and Snake looked pretty bad too, but not as bad as Code. Is it weird that Jake could actually pull off red lipstick?
Needless to say we took a lot of pictures.
Now there were eight girls.
