Today is the day. Snake's birthday.
I liked other people's birthdays because they always look so happy when they receive their gifts. Is that weird?
And it was Friday. Needless to say I was in a good mood. I was grateful my foul mood didn't stay with me the entire week. I didn't like having those kinds of moods, especially when there isn't a reason.
When there's no reason to be sad you should choose to be happy.
Easier said than done apparently. Whatever, I was in a good mood and wasn't going to spoil it by overthinking.
The day went by so slowly, maybe it's because I was on time today. I left home a little earlier so I could see Snake to wish him a happy birthday. I'm such a dedicated friend.
No, seriously. Everyone was surprised to see me this early.
The rest of the classes were pretty boring. And as usual, lunch period went by too quickly. We were busy teasing Snake about his present. We would drop ridiculous and false hints to throw him off. He got really confused about his present.
That was a good sign. He'd be more surprised when he actually got it tonight.
Two more classes to go and it would be weekend. I was currently in Hi온라인카지노게임.
Code was in this class too. Unfortunately they'd separated us in the beginning of the year because we couldn't help but talk to each other. So he was sitting at the window while I was sitting on the other side of the class, near the door.
Our teacher was pretty young. She almost looked like a student but I think she once mentioned she was twenty-five or something. She had light brown hair and blue eyes and she got the attention of a lot of boys. Gross.
She was okay though. She was stern and she knew what she was talking about although sometimes I had trouble taking her seriously. She got flushed by all the male attention and it didn't seem appropriate.
Oh well, you know me, I just minded my own business.
"Psst." I turned my head towards the sound and noticed it was Code being anything but subtle. Before I knew what was happening he threw a crumpled piece of paper at me.
It hit me square in the head. Who knew the guy had great aim? It earned some chuckles from people who'd seen Code's victorious moment. He was beaming, obviously proud of himself. I rolled my eyes, biting my lip to keep myself from laughing.
I grabbed the paper and started unfolding it. I was about to read it when I noticed a shadow forming above me. My teacher was standing in front of my desk, looking at me. Sigh.
"Since you're disrupting class you can read the note out loud, Jill." She said. It took a lot not to roll my eyes. The purpose of the note was to not disrupt class, she chose to disrupt it by paying it attention to it.
Did she think I would be ashamed to read it out loud or something? I'm not embarrassed easily.
I grabbed the note "You coming over before the party?" I laughed. Code could be so stupid sometimes.
I looked at him "You could've just asked me after class you idiot." I laughed. His reply was a shrug.
Some guys were making comments being proud of Code because I was coming over or something? Come on, people know we're just friends. I decided to play along.
"Of course I'm coming over for your big package." I grinned and he winked at me. Jake would've been so proud of us. The guys in class were cheering now. Unbelievable.
"Looks like you've earned yourself a detention Jill." As if I was gonna stay longer on a Friday.
"I didn't really do anything, you asked me to read the note so I did." I really didn't feel like I was in the wrong here. Usually I accept a punishment when I know I deserved it.
"You were disrupting class." The teacher argued. I rolled my eyes.
"You can't just punish people because something didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. You asked me to read the note so I did and now you don't like the consequences. You were probably thinking I'd get embarrassed or something but I didn't. You're obviously just giving me a detention because you didn't like the outcome of your own actions. To me that comes across as abuse of power and even immature. Is that really how you want your students to see you?"
I'm starting to think I enherited mom's rants. I just fight for what I believed in I guess? That sounded more like a lawyer. My parents would be so proud. Or maybe not in this particular situation.
The class went silent. The teacher seemed like she wanted to say something. She opened her mouth and closed it again. Then she opened it again.
"Let's just forget about this. You were saying something about reading a page?" I asked. I didn't like all the attention aimed at me and obviously I'd put the teacher in a tough spot and I didn't mean to do that either. I just wanted to get my point across.
She looked at me for what seemed like an eternity. She eventually turned around and resumed her lesson. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. She could've sent me to the principal or something but she didn't.
"Dude, teach me!" The guy next to me said, he looked as if I'd just saved the world or something. I didn't know the kid.
I smirked "You have much to learn, young grasshopper."
He looked confused. Really? He didn't get that reference? I'm so disappointed in humanity.
After class I was wondering if I should talk to my teacher. I mean, it must've been humiliating for her. Well, what's done is done I guess.
Suddenly two hands grabbed my shoulders and I got pushed back against something. Or someone.
"You totally kicked ass Jill." I looked up, leaning my head against Code's chest and saw him beaming at me.
I sighed. Code released my shoulders and hugged me from behind, wrapping his arms around me and resting his chin on the top of my head. "What's wrong Jilly?"
I liked the position we were in. My dad would sometimes hold me like that when I was still a kid. It made me feel safe.
"I don't know, I feel like I was disrespecting her."
Code turned me around so I was facing him. "She totally deserved it. What's up with you this week? Are you PMSing?" He looked grossed out.
I slapped his arm. That was probably the first time we were having a serious conversation so I should've expected that one of us would ruin it.
He was right, though. Why did I even care? I usually don't. Aw man, I really didn't want to get my period!
I told Code I'd be at his house at ten and then we headed to our own classes. Last class of the week, finally.
My house was empty when I arrived. I had some time to kill so I headed to my dad's place. I decided not to take the car, since it wasn't a long walk.
The door was locked. I was hoping at least Beth would be there. I had a key but it would just be another empty house.
I went to the grocery store to get some snacks and headed back home. A movie it is! I decided to watch A Clockwork Orange. Again. I could watch that movie every day and still not get sick of it.
When it was eight PM I decided to text Gwen.
You coming over to get ready?
Maybe we could repeat our ritual from last Friday. My phone buzzed a few minutes later.
Sorry, dinner with grandparents :( See you there?
Oh right I forgot. She'd already mentioned that. My phone buzzed again.
You have to wear the dress!
I smiled. A few weeks ago Gwen and I went shopping and we went into this expensive shop because they were having a sale. We immediately fell in love with the same dress, luckily it was only available in my size.
I usually didn't buy these kind of dresses but when Gwen said I was turning on her inner lesbian I just had to get it.
When I went to my room I took the dress out of my closet and looked it over. Buying a dress is not the same as actually wearing it.
Come on Jill, you're not the kind of person to chicken out on anything. I smiled, let's do this.
I took a quick shower and actually put some effort in my hair. Yes, shit was definitely getting real. I curled it a little to enhance my natural waves. It took me way too long and I'd almost burned my ear. This is why I don't usually do this.
Makeup. I wasn't sure how to do my eyes. I decided to put my dress on first and then see what would fit best.
I struggled into my dress. Was it that tight when I'd bought it? Had I been eating too much junk food lately? Yes and yes. I stepped in front of the mirror. Damn.
It was a short sleeved tight dress that hugged my curves. It stopped mid thigh and showed a little cleavage, definitely not too much. The cleavage was made possible by a push up bra. I'm not that blessed.
The dress was bright blue but on the sides it was black making it very slimming. This dress was definitely flattering.
I decided not to go crazy with the makeup since the dress was already such an eyecatcher. I went with a winged eyeliner and decided to keep the rest of my face neutral.
No heels though, we were probably walking so I went with simple black flats.
Suddenly I heard the front door slam. "Jill?" My mom was back.
"In here." I yelled back. She knew where I was. I wondered what she'd think of my dress.
"Hey have you ea-" I looked at my mom, wondering why she didn't finish her sentence. She was looking at me. Oh boy, here we go.
"Holy shit you look hot, turn around." I snorted. That's my mom.
"I'm proud to say I have a hot daughter. Are you trying to impress someone?" She raised her eyebrow. Of course she'd think I was doing it for a guy.
I rolled my eyes "No, Gwen told me to wear it tonight."
She smirked "So you're doing it for a girl? Whatever makes you happy honey."
I pushed her towards the door and she started laughing. We talked a little bit before I headed out. It was already dark when I went outside but luckily it wasn't chilly. I did bring a jacket, you know, just in case.
When I arrived at Code's place I didn't bother knocking and just went inside. I was only five minutes early so Code should be ready by now. I caught him sitting on the couch, petting Bus.
When Bus noticed me he ran up to me. I pet him, but not too long because I didn't want to have drool all over my dress.
"Jill, I didn't know you were hot." Code said. That was two minutes after I'd arrived. Code didn't even look who walked through the door, I could've been a robber and he would think it were me.
"Yes you did." I smirked. Code rolled his eyes.
"Ready to leave? Where's the present?" I looked around for my beautifully wrapped present. My wrapping skills were poorly but I felt accomplished with this one. I didn't see it lying around though.
He looked at me. We were having a silent conversation. I knew he forgot it upstairs, if it weren't for me he would've arrived at the party empty handed.
"Shut up I'll go get it." He muttered while getting up. I laughed at him, this is typical Code.
I decided to look where Bus went, I thought I'd seen him run towards the kitchen. I suddenly felt eyes on me and turned around.
"Wow, Jill, you look great." Chase was trying not to gawk. I seriously might be in love with this dress. I looked at Chase but my smirk disappeared when I noticed what he was wearing.
Or wasn't wearing.
He was wearing blue faded jeans and... Well that's it. He had a good body. Not too much muscle but there was a slight six pack showing. Damn, I should pay more attention to nerds at school.
I realized I hadn't replied yet, I had just been staring. Chase didn't seem to notice since he was doing the same thing. We're such idiots.
I was about to say something until I heard Code running down the stairs "Got it!"
Took him long enough.
He look at both of us and raised his eyebrow. "So are we ready to leave or are you two just gonna stare at each other for a little while longer?"
Chase looked embarrassed and I nudged Code carefully because I didn't want him to drop the present. "Let's go."
Chase cleared his throat "Yeah eh... have fun."
We went outside. "Dork." Code muttered. I snorted.
The party was held at The Beerbarian. Don't mind the cheesy name. Snake's uncle owns the bar so we could just drink as much as we wanted. It was a little bar nearby so it was only a fifteen minutes walk.
It was a fun party. I was having a blast, Snake was happy and the alcohol was very present. These things might be connected with each other.
I'd gotten a lot of compliments on the dress and Jake's sexual innuendos were hitting a new high. Needless to say, the dress was a big succes. It even rhymes.
Snake was grinning like a kid when it was time to open the presents. He didn't get too many since all of us got him one big present; the knife set.
He was literally jumping up and down when he unwrapped it, it was so cute. He gave everyone a big hug. He was also a little tipsy.
I was the last one to receive one of his bonecrushing hugs. He opened his arms and I jumped into his arms. Alcohol, stop doing this to me.
"Thanks Jill, I know it was your idea." He whispered in my ear. I'll never know how he knew but it was fine. Anything to see my friends this happy.
Code, Snake and I were the last ones to leave. Gwen headed home an hour ago and Jake left with some bimbo.
I needed help going home. No, I wasn't shitfaced, just a little tipsy. Code on the other hand was singing the Hannah Montana theme song and could barely walk.
So there we were, walking down the street with Code sandwiched in between Snake and I. We were doing our best to keep him from falling but it was quite the challenge. He was hyperactive and heavier than I'd thought. I'm putting him on a diet.
And then there was silence. Code was getting tired.
"Crap, now I have to carry him." Snake volunteered to walk him home since I wasn't strong enough to carry a guy. I think now is the time he was regretting that decision.
Snake grabbed Code and put him over his shoulder like he was a sack of potatoes.
"No don't carry him like that, his stomach is pushing against your shoulder, he might puke." I said. We both shuddered. We both didn't cope well with vomit. Snake sighed.
"Fine." He put Code down and picked him up bridal style. I laughed. Hard. Code was peacefully sleeping with his head against Snake's chest and Snake just looked very annoyed.
"Stop stop!" I yelled. Snake suddenly came to a halt. He was standing underneath a lamppost and I really wanted to take a picture of this.
I grabbed my phone and aimed it at my friends. "Don't you dare Jill."
Ignoring Snake, I grinned "Say cheese lovebirds." Snake grunted. Close enough.
Maybe I should consider photography because this picture was art. I made a mental note to send it to everyone tomorrow. This was too precious not to share.
When we arrived at Code's house I grabbed Code's keys out of his pocket and opened the door. "Maybe we should just lay him down on the couch so we won't wake anyone." I suggested.
I could imagine waking everyone up by going upstairs. The couch looked comfortable enough. Snake listened and put him down.
We went outside and I locked the door. I'd go back to his place tomorrow to give him his keys back.
"Why are you heading the same way?" Snake's house was the other way.
"I'm not letting you walk around alone in the dark dressed like that, Jill." Snake answered. He was walking me home? He must've really loved his present. Well, of course he did. He'd only mentioned it fifty times.
I decided not to argue "Thanks." I nudged him and he smiled.
"You look great Jill and again, thanks for the knives." I smiled, he was being nice.
"No problem, I knew you wanted them." I shrugged. It really wasn't a big deal.
"You're a great friend." We looked at each other. Oh my god we were having a moment. I started laughing. He always got so cheesy when he had been drinking.
"I'm not drunk!" He yelled a little too loudly, proving that he was indeed a little drunk.
When we got to my house we said our goodbyes. He gave me another bear hug (not drunk he said) and then I went inside.
Struggling out of a tight dress when you're tipsy is one of the hardest things ever. I was ready to just go to sleep, still wearing the dress. Eventually I got out of it. I only fell twice.
After I crawled in bed I'd noticed that the sun was starting to rise. Time to go to sleep.
