● Sarafaie, Magic: First of all, can you tell us a bit about yourself in and off of wattpad?
◎ Dan, Featured Author: Well my name's Dan though I generally go by Angus 'round these parts. I've been an active member of the 카지노후기 온라인카지노주소 for over seven years now, and within the last year took the plunge and joined the Ambassador Programme. Gotta' be honest I rather love it, and I'm not entirely sure why I waited so long!
Away from 카지노후기, I live in a house in a village near a town in East Sussex, in the south-east of England with my wife and our 7 year old miniature poodle who is now and forever will be in a state of perpetual puppyness. I work as a night porter at a country hotel... Basically, what that boils down to is that I'm one of the guys who stays up all night making sure everyone has everything they need and that no one dies in a fire!
● Sarafaie, Magic: It's such a heartwarming job. I'm glad they have your back. ^^
Anyway, maybe you are realize that your Half-Light is the first Magically Sci-fi that featured in our reading list. How do you feel about it when you found out?
◎ Dan, Featured Author: To be perfectly honest it's quite the honour knowing that in some small part, a 온라인카지노게임 I've been working on for the better part of eight years, on and off, might help the Magic profile grow and develop. Seeing it there most definitely put a smile upon my face!
● Sarafaie, Magic: Glad to hear that ^^
When I first check your work, Half-Light, it got me thinking. how did you come up with such the idea? Especially, the title? Have you searched the specific reference(s) for it? If it's not, then from where you got the idea? Or is it just happened like an inspiration or maybe miracle?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : haha, I think the only miracle as far as Half-Light is/was concerned, is that it ever got written at all. It was the first thing I wrote for many years and the first thing I ever wrote by choice.
It all started one particularly quiet night. The hotel I was working for at the time was a pretty busy one and on those rare quiet nights, it was always a struggle to find something to occupy my mind and keep myself awake, so I sat at the keyboard and started writing and thus, Half-Light was born. The version live on 카지노후기 is vastly different to that written originally, not least for the fact I now understand the rules of grammar. I mean I don't necessarily obey those rules but I know they're there and quite often wave at them as I float on by, riding a literary wave of run-on sentences, semicolons and purposely misused em-dashes.
But that's the beauty of writing, isn't it? We really do get to make up the rules as we go along.
As for the title of the piece, well without wanting to give too much away to anyone attempting to make sense of my ramblings here who might want to go on and read Half-Light, all I shall say is that it's named for a technological device that features heavily in the series.
● Sarafaie, Magic: Yes, it is.. ^^ The perks of writing..
Anyway, the first that came to my mind when I realized your theme of book is combination between sci-fi and magic, it made me asking myself, how did you come up with this? I mean, sci-fi and magic are two opposite things. Sci-fi is so logic, but magic is a total opposite, an imagination somehow, or something that can't be explained in logical way. How did you come up with it? And is there any something that you want to accomplish from this rare combination?
◎ Dan, Featured Author: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clarke
Honestly it just kind of happened. There was never supposed to be any magic in there. It was always going to be a group of friends kicking ass and taking names and then, such is the nature of things, my brain came up with what turned out to be the rather wonderful idea of bringing witches, demons, gods, goddesses and all manner of other magical creatures into the mix. There's even a chain smoking unicorn named Frankie in there somewhere!
To be perfectly honest, what I hope to accomplish with any 온라인카지노게임 I write is to simply tell a good, fun, enjoyable 온라인카지노게임. If my ramblings turn into anything more, that's just a bonus!
● Sarafaie, Magic: That's a good. I like the way how you view your own accomplishments.. ^^
What other authors are you friends with? and how do they help you become a better writer?
◎ Dan, Featured Author: To be fair I think everyone I've encountered thus far on 카지노후기 has helped me become a better writer, even if in just some small way. It's such an inspiring place, one can't help but improve as a writer simply by being here and by getting involved in any number of the countless awesome projects and events that take place.
As for authors I count amongst my friends, there are simply far too many to mention them all by name. A special mention for TheOrangutan though. I joined the site a month after Gav and he was one of the first users I encountered. I recall reading a wee piece entitled The Cubicle and thinking the dude who wrote it was one cool hombre.
I'd be remiss if I didn't shout-out to #TeamOoorah too, everyone who works with me on the Tevun-Krus ezine on the Ooorah profile. Y'all are awesome.
● Sarafaie, Magic : I'm honored to witness such a good friendship you have with Gav TheOrangutan and Team Ooorah. I believe they will always get your back and same goes for you, you get their back too. This is a beautiful friendship. ^^
Was there any moment when you wrote Half-Light that you felt like you were not going to publish one or two chapters because of one reason or two. If there was, would you like to share it with us what are those chapters? And are you planning to publish it as bonus or extra?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : I don't think Half-Light is finished, not even close. I mean sure, there's an argument to be found that no 온라인카지노게임 is ever complete, that there's always more to tell. Whether I do go back to it at some point in the future remains to be seen but it's nice to know it's there, that the characters I love so much to write for are waiting for me, should I ever choose to do so.
So to answer your question. No, not as such. But there may well be an entire novel or two in length added to it at some point in the future!
● Sarafaie, Magic: I thought Half-Light is already completed?
Good to hear. ^^ I know your fans will be waiting for those eagerly..
◎ Dan, Featured Author : It shows as being complete on here, sure. After a few months of sitting pretty on my profile, marked as being incomplete, I made the decision to change that in an attempt to stave off the countless, "When are you gonna' update Half-Light?!" messages!
● Sarafaie, Magic: Oh my God.. haha.. I literally choke on my food. You are so honest. And we're glad you are comfortable enough to be honest with us. We appreciate it.. ^^
How do you balance making demands on the reader with taking care of the reader?
◎ Dan, Featured Author: To be honest, that balance isn't really something I think about. I write the stories I want to write, those I want to tell. If people enjoy them then that's wonderful, truly. I don't believe in writing to make other people happy though. In my mind, any author or writer who does that is not telling a 온라인카지노게임 that comes from the heart. By telling a 온라인카지노게임 you think others want to read you're selling yourself out - and I'm not for a single second saying that's necessarily a bad thing. What I am saying is that a 온라인카지노게임 written from the heart, one told by an author who loves every single syllable of every word of every sentence they write, is always going to be a better 온라인카지노게임 than one told by an author who decides to write about -insert latest teen heart-throb here- because they want to gain 카지노후기-wide fame.
● Sarafaie, Magic: Ahhh.. yes, I know right.. People nowadays tend to do that..
Anyway, I'm going to ask your little secret..
Are you by any chance happened to hide some sort of secrets or code inside Half-Light that only few people will know or understand?
If you are indeed hiding something on it.. would you like to share it with us? And can you tell us why are you hiding it?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : Haha, I like the way you call it my little secret...
Anyways... There's not really anything particularly secretive about Half-Light. It's fast-paced and confusing - yes, confusing even to me sometimes and I'm the one writing it! - action-packed, and filled with characters who all believe they're doing what's right for any number of different and varied reasons.
One thing the more eager-eyed readers might notice, is that there are a couple of sequences of numbers sort of hidden in plain sight and repeated throughout the course of Half-Light. Is there a reason for this? Well...that remains to be seen!
● Sarafaie, Magic : Ahhh.. now we all know your little secret.. xD
Is there any character in Half-Light that you feel close the most for some reason? If there is, can you tell us who and are you feeling so close with her or him?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : Dan, or Sir Daniel James Colt to use his full title.
To be perfectly honest he was never supposed to feature much, in fact I'd got in mind I was going to kill him off after only a few chapters. He had other ideas though, it seems. And I think that's why I feel a certain closeness to him as it was whilst writing for Dan that I first truly understood the concept of a character taking over his or her own development and leading the 온라인카지노게임, at which point as authors, we are simply along for the ride.
I don't remember who said it, nor do I remember where I read it or the exact phrasing, but there is something that's always stuck with me.
'I always thought -let's call her- Susan was a middle-aged single mother from East London. It turns out she was actually a seventeen year old Japanese schoolgirl with a penchant for death metal and playing with knives.'
Like I say, I don't remember the exact phrasing which is unfortunate but the message there is the same, however it's worded.
● Sarafaie, Magic : Do you read your book review? How do you deal with bad review and good review?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : I do, and I think any writer worth their salt has to do so. Whether you're intending to make a living writing or you're simply doing it as a hobby, the thoughts and opinions of others, be they positive or negative, good or bad, are hugely important.
We all want to improve as writers and I'm no different. I deal with reviews, bad or good, in exactly the same way. I take on board what's been said and generally sit on it for a day or two deciding whether or not to make any changes based on that review.
● Sarafaie, Magic : If you can go back in time to your younger writing self, what would you tell to him?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : I would tell younger me to keep at it, to keep plugging away. It's totally worth the continued effort!
I'd also tell him to make an effort to learn about proper use of grammar and such more quickly than I did!
● Sarafaie, Magic: This is my last two questions. As you know that our profile is still new to wattpad community. Do you have an input for us to make profile better than now? If you do have, what would it be?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : The most important thing for or any genre/tag/community profile is to keep followers engaged. There's a reason users follow such profiles and it's because of those normal everyday users the profiles exist.
Listen to your followers and take on board what they say but at the same time, don't allow them to dictate how the profile functions and is run.
Above all else, I think it's important not to try too many things at once. The last thing anyone wants is to feel overwhelmed and with profiles like Fanfic , ScienceFiction & like magic, it's very easy to forget that without those folk following the profile, it's really nothing more than a group of Ambassadors talking to themselves!
● Sarafaie, Magic : Wow. Thanks so much for the inputs. We believe as well as other profiles that we are nothing without our followers. And I personally agree with you.. Again, Thanks Dan. ^^
And for the last question and probably the most random one..
Imagine that you are a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
◎ Dan, Featured Author : You're welcome, of course!
haha, what colour crayon would I be? Let's say...purple, because why not?!
● Sarafaie, Magic: That's wrap..! Thanks so much for sharing your time, knowledge and view with us.. We have so much fun in this lovely interview.. ^^
◎ Dan, Featured Author : It's totally my pleasure, and was an awful lot of fun for me, too!
