Present time ( Few months since final showdown)

Annual police day celebrations were going on in Mumbai. Home minister Thorat was the chief guest. After some speeches and cultural program, came the moment of award distribution.

"Now, for bravery award, I am calling the name of most promising, brightest and courageous officer of state police force who lead the operation clean Mumbai and ended the gang wars, violence, restoring the peace in the city." The presenter of the program spoke from the podium.

Everyone started looking at the person who considered to be worthy of this award.

The presenter invited the chief guest Thorat and announced the name of awardee. "Dcp, crime branch, Mr. Satya Adhikari, please come on stage and receive this honour."

Satya clenched his jaw, controlling his anger. He hated this moment, he didn't want to go on stage but then he looked around, all the people were looking at him only, he knew he cant create drama. He has to go. So with heavy heart he went on stage and received the award.

"At least give a small smile officer or else press reporters will ask questions." Thorat whispered to Satya while handing him the trophy. Satya looked at him angrily but then controlling himself gave a small fake smile. He turned around to go back when presenter of the show requested him to say few words. He politely refused and just said thanks to all.

Everyone was congratulating for the award but only Satya knew that it was not an award. It was a mockery of his duty, his belief in the system, his feelings and his intelligence. He was being fooled in the biggest way possible and this award is just like a salt on his wound. Everyone thought that he and his team had finished off all the mafias to eradicate organized crime from the city but only he knew what the reality was. All the praises he was getting for was not less than a bullet shot on his heart. He felt suffocated in the program; he decided to go home early.
