Part 43

When Sai was about to lose hope, she closed her eyes, waiting for some miracle to save her from Jagtap. Just then her miracle happened as both of them heard a familiar voice.

"Virat Chavan is not dead yet."

Both Sai and Jagtap looked towards the source of that voice, Sai in relief while Jagtap in confusion and horror as it was the voice of none other than Virat.

"Kya hua? Chauk gaye mujhe zinda dekh kar?" Virat raised his eyebrow at utter shocked expressions of Jagtap.

"Tu...tum...tum...yaha kaise...tum toh wo peace meeting mein gaye the...phir waha par toh tumhe ab tak mar jana tha..." Jagtap started stammering.

"Well, surprise! Nahi mara main." Virat smirked and taunted while Jagtap gulped down with difficulty as he never thought his plan would fail like this.

Virat taunted again. "Woh kya hai na, its not that easy to kill me...not at least for a coward like you."

Jagtap was still finding it difficult to believe that Virat was standing right in front of his eyes. He was perfectly fine except some minor injuries. Jagtap took a deep breath and recovered soon from his shock as he has to tackle a difficult situation now. He knew his truth is out now, Virat has seen his true colors and now he won't spare him. So the first thing that came to his mind was to attack Virat and try to kill him here at least. He ordered his remaining two men to attack him.

But Virat was too fast for them as he shot the one directly on forehead before he could even lunged at him and then he bent down to save himself from the other one's bullet. Before that other man would have shoot him again Virat killed him too like the first one. It was a piece of cake for him to take care of two goons single handedly. Now Jagtap was even more worried as to what will happen to him.

"Game over! Jagtap, I have just one question...WHY....why, why...kyu kiya yaar tune ye sab? You were my buddy, my brother, my confidant, my family then WHY the hell did you do all this?" Virat banged his fist on the wall in frustration as he demanded answers.

Jagtap became equally frustrated as he shouted in response. "Because I was tired....tired of you and your arrogance and ungrateful nature, tired of being your shadow. Humne saath saath shuruaat ki thi na. Ek sath badhe is raste par, jitni mehnat tumne ki hai utni hi maine ki, shayad tumse bhi jyada but still you became the Don for the world and what I am? 'The confidant', 'the right hand man', the side kick'....why is that so?"

Virat was taken aback by his response. He never knew Jagtap held so much frustration, so much dissatisfaction inside him. "Bas yahi wajah thi? Its just the name that f*cking matters! Not my love, my friendship, our camaderie...sab bhool gaya tu?"

You took away from me my most precious thing, you took away my love...my Sai. I have seen you two together, falling in love ....my heart broke every time I used to see you together....that was my limit. After that I decided I will not stay quiet. I will claim what is rightfully mine. So without your knowledge I started building my own informers network and contacts in the business. Jagtap was enraged hearing his insult. She jumped on Sai and held her throat but he was kicked away by Virat. He stood up and said with utmost disgust, looking towards Sai. "Ghatiya to tum ho Sai, tum dono ho. Arre main to tumse itna pyar karta tha ki tum Virat ki ho gayi, uske baad bhi main tumhe apnane ko taiyar tha. But you broke all my hopes when you became pregnant with his baby. That's when I decided that if you cant be with me then I will not you to be with Virat also. I planned to kill you."

"Toh mujhpar wo attack karwane wale tum the jisme maine apna baby kho diya." Sai gasped at the revelation.

"Mujhe pehle hi saamjh jana chahiye tha. Shak toh mujhe usi din se ho gaya tha ki shayad koi meri gang se hi is attack ke liye responsible hai lekin kabhi sapne mein bhi nahi socha tha ki tu woh kamina hoga." Virat also commented.

"What?" Jagtap asked with gritted teeth.

Virat said as he gave him a look of pity as he dropped the truth bombs.

Jagtap attacked him in anger but Virat blocked him and punched him on the nose. Jagtap felt down.

Virat continued, "When Marco suddenly turned against me I started having doubts that someone from my inside circle is betraying me but I didn't have any proof to take action against anyone. Jagtap looked away feeling insulted. Virat continued telling him further. Sai couldn't stop herself from asking a question from Virat. "But how did you come to know about his plan, exactly? Aur agar tumhe pata hi chal gaya tha toh tumne ise pehle hi kyu nahi rok diya, iske plan ka hissa kyu bane, kyu apni jaan khatre mein daali?"

Virat kicked Jagtap once again in anger as he made move to run away. Once he was sure that he has held him securely, he started explaining Sai.  "I knew after I slapped him, he will try something stupid. Isko range hatho pakadne ka bas yahi tareeka tha. I wanted to confront him only after being sure of his misdeeds. He thought only he can fool me telling me about the wrong details of peace meeting to bring out your truth. I used same trick for him, lied him about the peace meeting and didn't give him enough time to think. As I guessed, he immediately called Lala and planned that today he will murder me on the way itself. In midway, he lied to come back here and asked me to go alone. Lala's men attacked me in the mid route. They specifically targeted the car in which he had informed them about my presence but as I have guessed Jagtap's plan, I changed the car and thus survived the attack. Then with the help of my men, I killed those goons."

Jagtap looked at him listening how easily Virat guessed his plan. Virat gave him one more information. "Tumhare us partner Lala ko maar kar hi aa raha hoon yaha...aur ab tumhari bari hai." Virat pointed his gun at Jagtap.

"I am sorry....forgive me....you cant kill me....I am your brother....please forgive me."Jagtap pleaded.

Virat ignored him as he replied  latter part of Sai's question. "Jante ho tumhara plan jante hue bhi maine tumhe pehle hi kyu nahi roka, kyu maut ke muh tak gaya kyunki I was waiting to find out ki tu kitna neeche gir sakta hai...kis hadh tak ja sakta hai? Kya sach mein mujhe jaan se maarne ki planning kar sakta hai...kahi mujhe koi galatfemi toh nahi hui? And I got my answer today. Dost aur bhai bolke dhoka diya hai tune mujhe....you bloody b***tard!...Even after knowing about you...I still had hope in my heart that you wont kill me...after all we were like brothers...we have literally grown up together...but you just disappointed me. Mujhe nahi pata tha itne saal se aasteen ka saanp paal raha hoon main."

"Please Viru, tu toh mera yaar hai, chhod de mujhe...maine ye sab... ye sab...haan...pyar ke liye, pyar ke liye kiya maine, Sai ke liye kiya...please chhod de mujhe." Jagtap pleaded again.

Virat looked at him with utmost hatred. "Jhoot, sab jhoot. Tune ye sab pyar ke liye nahi, power, position aur paise ke liye kiya. Tujh jaise insaan ko toh pata hi nahi pyar kya hota hai. Agar tu sach mein Sai se pyar karta na toh usko maarne ki saazish nahi karta bar bar. Pyar ke sahi mayne pata hote toh apne bhai jaise dost ki peeth mein chhura nahi ghopta. Virat said the final word and fired. The bullet was aimed at his heart and killed him instantly.
