Part 40

Present time

Jagtap went to Virat's room. He was determined to bring Sai's truth out. He knew what he has to do for it.

"I want to talk about something important." He said.

"Yes, tell me." Virat replied.

"Where is Sai?" Jagtap asked scanning the whole room. This time he deliberately wanted to talk in front of her, he wanted her to listen to them.

"Why are you asking?" Virat questioned.

Jagtap clarified, "Aise hi, I was just curious, haven't seen her since morning."

"I am here. Virat told me that you two had a fight yesterday and you were upset. So I was making your favourite dish for the lunch." Sai said as she came there with servants holding lunch tray.

Jagtap gave a fake smile to her and waited till everyone was settled.

"You wanted to say something." Virat reminded.

"Yes, Bhawani kaku had called me. After continuous attacks and counter attacks and Anna, Omi bhau already dead, the remaining of the idiots Patnaik, Ismail has again asked Bhawani kaku to call for peace treaty." Jagtap informed.

"Huh! Peace treaty, what a joke? They didn't keep their promise of peace treaty for even one day last time. The truth is that they are scared. Two idiots already died, Lala has already made deal with us now only Patnaik and Ismail left. They are scared for their life that's why all this drama of peace treaty." Virat replied.

"I know, Bhawani kaku also understands this that's why she is not pressurizing you. She just asked you to consider it once and then take any decision." Jagtap informed further.

"Ok, say yes to kaku. Lets see what they have to say this time." Virat agreed after thinking for a while.

"The meeting will take place at Lala's bar tomorrow evening. The name of the bar is Sunshine and the exact time of meeting is 7pm." Jagtap told him and pointedly looked at Sai. He noticed how her expression changed but she managed to hide them quickly.

"Virat...woh, actually I remembered that doctor had asked me to come for an important test. So I have to go today." Sai made an excuse so that she could visit the hospital and pass on the information to Satya.

"What! So soon? Abhi thode din pehle hi toh overall checkup karwaya tha tumne, tab toh sab theek tha. Phir ye achanak ek aur test?" Virat questioned.

And Jagtap too remembered how exactly before the last police raid Sai had gone to visit doctor. May be this is how she passes on information, there must be some accomplice in the hospital who helps her. He should look into this just to gather enough proof against her.

Sai became nervous when Virat questioned back. It was a genuine question, she didn't know how to counter that. "Woh kya hai na ki...ab doctor ne kaha hai to kuch jaruri hi test hoga, main aise mana toh nahi kar sakti. Waise bhi main koi chance nahi lena chahti, we are planning a baby aur pehle hi ek bar mere sath wo hadsa ho chuka hai." Sai played sympathy card.

"Haan, lekin is tarah bar bar koi na koi test ke liye bulana..." Virat raised his doubt but Jagtap stopped him.

"Sai theek keh rahi hai, Virat. Main samajh sakta hoon pichli bar tum logo par kya beeti thi. Isliye is bar aur bhi precautions lene ki jarurat hai. Agar Sai ko lagta hai ki usko doctor ki har advice maan ni chahiye to usko karne do na." Jagtap supported Sai because he wanted to find out her truth.

"Achha theek hai tum ja sakti ho. Lekin be careful, take enough security with you." Virat advised.

"Uski fikar tum mat karo. Main apne khas aadmi Sai ke sath bhejunga. Usko koi khatra nahi hoga." Jagtap assured.

Sai gave a nervous awkward smile to Jagtap. She was grateful to him that he somehow helped her in convincing Virat but she was confused as to how come he suddenly became so caring about her.

And like Jagtap guessed from her expression, he voiced out her doubt. "Mujhe pata hai Sai tum soch rahi ki achanak mujhe kya ho gaya. Actually baat ye hai ki kal Virat se jhagda hone ke baad maine realize kiya kit um dono kitne important ho meri life mein. Main decide kar liya ki main apna bewajah faltu ka shak karna chhod dunga tum par."

Virat was happy listening to that. "Ye hui na baat. Main bahut khush hoon tumhare is decision se." He hugged Jagtap while Sai just managed to gave a small smile.

Next day as per the plan Jagtap brought Virat to Lala's bar. Virat was about to enter inside when Jagtap stopped him. "Meeting is not scheduled for today." He informed.

"What? But you only told me yesterday about this time and place." Virat asked.

"I lied." Jagtap said.

"But why?" Virat asked him in confusion.

"That you will get to know in sometime." Jagtap said and took Virat in the building located opposite of that bar.

They stayed hidden there and Jagtap asked him to wait for some time. Jagtap checked his watch, it was 7.30 pm already. Just like he guessed, soon police came there and raided the Lala's bar.

"Now you believe me? See, I have given you proof today." Jagtap pointed his finger towards policemen.

"What do you mean? You knew police will come here?" Virat asked as his heart started beating fast inside his chest fearing what would Jagtap will say now.

"Don't pretend Virat, as if you didn't understand anything. I lied to you purposely in front of Sai about the time and place of meeting because I knew she will pass the information to the police. And I was right. See, police have raided the place around the same time. Now there is no scope of confusion. This time only three of us knew about this fake meeting. There is no possibility that the information could have been leaked by any other person." Jagtap explained.

"NO, this cant be true.....I don't believe you." Virat said as he turned to the other side to avoid looking into Jagtap's eyes.

"Don't be stupid Virat. You saw it with your own eyes now and even if there is 1% doubt left in your mind then see this." Jagtap said and showed him a photo in his mobile.

Virat's eyes went wide with shock seeing the photo. It was inspector Karishma's photo in police uniform in the police station.

"She is an inspector in police. I wanted to know how Sai was passing on information to the police. I doubted she is using the excuse of hospital visits for it. So, one of my men followed Sai to the hospital came to know about their little disguise game. My man informed me that there is no real doctor by the name of Karishma in that hospital, he followed that girl too and she turned out to be a cop. Sai goes to see her on the pretext of routine check ups whenever there is some important information. When I told you about this meeting, didn't she go to the hospital? Now you believe me or you still prefer to turn a blind eye towards her betrayal?" Jagtap asked.

Virat closed his eyes as he didn't know what to do? How could this be true? Why is this happening to him? What did he do to deserve this kind of betrayal from the love of his life? His mind went blank for some time and when he opened his eyes they were blazing with fire....threatening to burn everything on its way.
