Part 29

Present time

Sai was in the city mall. The ground had almost slipped beneath her feet when Satya informed about the real identity of Pakhi.

"Inspector Pakhi Mohitepatil! What the hell is this? Is she a double agent or what? You sent me to spy on Virat then you sent her to spy on me?" Sai asked perplexed.

"She is our undercover cop but its not what you think." Satya tried to explain.

"Then what it is?" Sai demanded answers.

"Pakhi was already working undercover in one of Lala's pub when one day she met Virat Chavan. With the way he helped her we thought that he might be interested in her. So I asked Pakhi to follow Virat and try to interact with him, try to come close to him. Pakhi tried to do so by acting like his fan girl and asking for a job from him but it didn't work out." Satya told her about the day when Pakhi had met Virat first time.

Satya continued telling Sai more about it. "I didn't want to involve you in this matter at first but when Pakhi failed I had no option left, so I visited you in the orphanage and convinced you to work for us. But I was surprised when our sources told us that Virat's right hand Jagtap was looking for Pakhi again. Pakhi went to him and rest you know how Virat hired her to keep a watch on you. I thought it was a good idea. Not only Pakhi can help you in your mission but also....."

Satya was interrupted by Sai. "...but also she will spy on me whether I am doing my job properly or not? Whether I changed sides or not? Right?" Sai questioned him.

"Haan to galat kya hai isme? Aur waise bhi hamara shak toh sahi saabit hua na. You have changed. Now your loyalty is with Virat. You are purposefully giving wrong information as you are warming his bed now." Pakhi answered on behalf of Satya.

"Just shut up you bit*h." Sai couldn't help but vent out her anger. Pakhi was crossing her limits. The way Pakhi was saying all this was making her feel cheap.

"You shut up! Yaha par tumhara Virat nahi ayega mujhpar gun taan ne ke liye. Yaha katghare mein tum khadi ho aur explanations bhi tumhe dena hai." Pakhi retorted back.

"Main Virat ke kareeb ja rahi thi mission ke liye lekin zara tum Satya ko batana chahogi ki tum uske aage pechhe kyu mandra rahi thi?" Sai asked back.

"I was just acting. Jaisa ki Satya sir ne kaha, I was just playing to be his fan girl, a dumb girl so that he wont look at me like a threat. Maine bhi jo kuch kiya wo is mission ke liye hi kiya. Lekin tum jo kar rahi ho...main daave ke sath keh sakti hoon ki wo sirf acting nahi hai. Satya sir, aapko dekhna chahiye ye jis tarah Virat ki aankhon mein dekhti hai, usse chipakti rehti hai, aur ab to uske room mein bhi rehti hai...ye sab sirf acting toh nahi ho sakta." Pakhi explained her pov.

"All bullsh*t! Mujhe to yakeen hi ho raha ki tum ek cop ho. Mujhe to lagta hai tumhe bas Virat ka attention chahiye tha...I don't know why but jitni chalaak tum ho...jarur tumne isme bhi apna koi fayda dekha hoga." Sai commented.

"You know what? You are not my senior, I am not answerable to you." Pakhi answered back.

"Sahi kaha tumne, you are not answerable to me. Same way, I am not answerable to you. Tum kya sochti ho isse mujhe koi fark nahi padta. Hairani toh mujhe Satya ke mere intentions par yun doubt karne se ho rahi hai." Sai answered and gave a pointed look to Satya.

Satya averted his eyes, as he thought Sai was hurt by his allegation. Sai continued accusing him. "Satya mujhe tumse ye ummeed nahi thi. I was living my life somehow in Pune. You came and convinced me for this even though you knew my life could be in danger. But I agreed because once and for all I wanted to put end to this. You ignited the desire for revenge in me. You asked me to ....to go close to Virat...pardon me if I couldnt understand that "coming close" has some different meaning in your dictionary than mine. Whatever I did, I did all this for your mission and you are questioning me now?"

"Sai listen...." Satya tried to say but Sai stopped him.

"No, you listen. This dangerous game in which you are using me as pawn, at the end I will only get defeated, only I will be a loser here. If you win then Virat will be killed and if Virat wins then he will kill me for being a traitor. I have no reason to double cross you. Yes, I love Virat and you always knew that but then also you placed your trust on me because you knew I wanted revenge for my unborn child...moreover I wanted to end Virat Chavan and its still the same. But if you don't trust me then why don't you just kill me here?" Sai retorted back and dropped some truth bombs to make Satya realize his mistake.

Satya listened to her patiently. Sai was right. In any case, at the end it will be her loss. "See, when you came to my house....not only my son but also my mother also started treating you as a family member. You gave us hope that we could be one happy family together. I trust you...more than you, I trust that emotion which you have in your heart. ....but you know sometimes even strongest of the trust falters due to circumstances...that wrong information about venue name and then these photographs.....all these created doubt in my mind...I was jealous somewhere. I am sorry. I shouldn't have doubted you."

Pakhi was surprised to listen to all this. She also noticed Satya might have feelings for this Sai. How easy it was for her to once again earn Satya's trust and also sympathy.

"But sir, how can we trust her completely?" Pakhi asked, trying to create doubt again. Doesn't matter they were both working for the same mission. The fact remains the same, she hated this Sai.

"This dangerous game that we conceived was based on trust only from the starting...Virat's blind trust on Sai...our trust on Sai...Sai's trust on us...we have to stand by that...aur kuch galat hua bhi toh tum bhi to ho ab Sai ki help ke liye." Satya explained Pakhi. She had to agree after that.

Pakhi couldn't stop before pointing out one more mistake of Sai. "Ok, if you say so, its finally your call to trust her. But atleast ask her to be more careful. Aaj main nahi hoti toh ye pakdi gayi hoti." Pakhi informed.

"What do you mean?" Sai questioned.

"You couldn't have found any better place to hide all those gadgets? Its polybag was stuck in the lid of flush tank. A servant found it while cleaning washroom. He was going to take it to Jagtap." Pakhi revealed.

"What!" Sai was shocked.

"Yes, luckily I saw him and thank God he was not a smart fellow to understand what were all those gadgets. I stopped him and convinced him somehow that its your personal stuff and Virat will be angry if he comes to know that he touched your personal stuff. I took it from him and told him I'll inform you and Jagtap about it." Pakhi explained.

"Thanks....for help...I cant even imagine what would have happened if Jagtap would have got it." Sai reluctantly acknowledged her help.

"See, you both can work together after all and help out each other." Satya concluded with a smile.

It was more than 10 minutes since all of them were standing there. Sai realized she has to again to the lingerie shop from where she came, as Virat's men were waiting for her there and if she took any more time, they might come looking for her. She bid goodbye to Satya and was about to turn back when she noticed some moment in the corner, she became alert immediately.

Satya was about to say something more when Sai stopped him. "It may be my doubt but I think a man is watching us continuously." Sai said in low voice.

Pakhi also looked at the man in the corner some 6 feet away from them. "I think she is right. He keeping a watch on us." Pakhi confirmed.

"Oh shit!" Pakhi exclaimed when the man took out his phone and pretended to look into it but by the way he was holding it looked like he was clicking their picture.

Satya turned towards him and that man looked him in the eye. He understood he was caught so he ran away from there and Satya ran after him. "He has got our picture." Satya shouted while he chased him away. Pakhi also followed him.

"Sai, you go back. I will come later. Koi bahana bana dena mere liye koi puchhe toh." Pakhi said to Sai.

Sai came back to the lingerie shop and came out of the exit door where Virat's men were waiting for her.

"Where is that Pakhi ?" One man asked.

"She wanted to do more shopping. She will come later. Virat is calling me, he is asking me to come immediately so we cant wait for her. Lets go." Sai lied and went home, not knowing what storm was waitng for her there.
