Here is the second update of today.

Part 5

Sai was shocked and also scared after hearing Virat's name after so many years. She had thought she had moved passed that bitter past but looks like it will not leave her easily.

Her first response was denial. "Who Virat Chavan? I don't know anyone by that name."

Satya shook his head dejectedly at her. "Come on, Sai. I know everything about you. I know you used to be his girlfriend."

Sai became defensive. "Ok, I used to date him but I don't know anything about him now. Its been more than 5 years now I am not in touch with him." Sai answered.

"That I know. I also know that you ran away from him and he believes that you are no more. That's why I have come to you." Satya said as calmly as possible because he noticed she was getting agitated now.

Sai started panicking. "Who are you and how do you know all these things about my past?"

"Calm down. I am from police and I am not here to harm you in any way. See, I have come empty handed....I am not carrying any weapon....not even my service pistol. I suggest we should sit down somewhere and talk." Satya tried to convince her.

"You are such a fool officer. You have come alone here without any weapon. I can kill you and bury you in my backyard. No one will ever know what happened to you." Sai said and unlocked her gun.

"You can...but you wont. Agar bewajah logo ko marte dekhna tumhe pasand hota toh tum aaj bhi Virat Chavan ke sath hoti yaha nahi." Satya replied and noticed she has put down her gun.

Sai sighed and finally agreed to talk to him. "You can come inside." Sai said and lead him towards the common room.

Sai asked him to sit down and offered him coffee. "Tell me what do you want to talk about?"

"I am new officer in charge of crime branch, Dcp Satya Adhikari. We have been tracking down all the mafia lords. We have full authority from govt. We will finish them this time and destroy the roots of organized crime from Mumbai forever...." Satya trailed off when he noticed Sai laughed at him.

"May I know why you find this funny?" Satya asked.

"You are really delusional you know.... 'We will destroy the roots of organized crime from Mumbai forever'. Jab tak Virat Chavan zinda hai tab tak ye hone se raha." Sai mocked him as she laughed at him again.

"You can laugh all you want but I will make this happen. Thats why I need your help in this." Satya directly came on point.

"My help?" Sai questioned.

"You were once a part of Virat Chavan's life. I want you to go back to him again but as our informer." Satya revealed his plan.

"Are you out of your mind? You claim you know everything about me then don't you know how and in what circumstances I ran away and how I faked my death and you want me to go back to him...he will kill me." Sai said shocked out of her wits at the stupid and dangerous plan.

"Listen to me first..." Satya tried to persuade her but she didn't let him complete.

"Aapki bakwaas khatam ho gayi ho toh please jaiye yaha se." Sai showed him the door.

"Sai, ek bar mera pura plan toh sun lo." Satya tried to explain.

But Sai was adamant not to listen even a word of such dangerous plan. "Mujhe laga tha aap police wale hain toh shayad aapko koi chhoti moti information chahiye hogi mujhse Virat ke bare mein isliye aap yaha is tarah aaye hain lekin aapne toh hadh hi kar di. Aap chahte hain main us aadmi ke paas wapas jaun jaha se badi mushkil se marne ka natak karke main bhaagi hoon. Aur aapne soch kaise liya ki main taiyyar ho jaungi iske liye? Please abhi isi waqt yaha se nikal jaiye aap."

Satya stood up, he could clearly see Sai was angry and scared after listening to him. She wont understand anything now. So he decided to leave for now.

Next day Sai was playing with the kids in the morning in the orphanage. She had a blindfold on her eyes and searching for kids. She was about to trip over a stone and fall down when she felt someone caught her. She immediately removed her blindfold and found Satya has caught her hand.

They had an eyelock. Satya was staring at her as if mesmerized by her beauty. He never noticed before she was so beautiful. No wonder that don Virat Chavan was so besotted by her.

Sai tried to stand straight and brought Satya out of trance. "You here again? I thought I made it very clear to you that I am not interested in your stupid plan." Sai said and asked kids to go in for breakfast.

Satya suddenly remembered why he was here for. "Listen to me. Our plan is not stupid. Try to understand.  Gang wars are happening, crime is at its highest peak. Death toll is increasing day by day. Mumbai is on fire. We need to take immediate action." Satya tried to explain the severity of the situation.

Sai gave him disinterested look. "Toh jaiye apne Mumbai ko bachaiye, kisne roka hai? Lekin iske liye aap meri life kyu khatre mein daalna chahte hain?"

"You have been there between them once. You know how these mafia lords operate, how they work..... Virat is the main pillar of Mumbai underworld. He is back in Mumbai and hell bent on destroying other mafia lords. If we plant you as our informer in his life then we will get all valuable information not only about him but about others also." Satya explained.

"Yeah! And to save your Mumbai from them you want to sacrifice me." Sai said sarcastically.

"Don't worry, you will be safe. We will train you before sending you there so that you can use different types of weapons and communication gadgets. Please say yes for the sake of our city, our country. It needs to get rid of all those criminals." Satya pleaded.

"I don't give a damn to your patriotism. Do you have any idea how dangerous Virat is?" Sai asked back.

Satya nodded his head in understanding. "I know he is a wanted don...."

But Sai didn't let him complete. "What you know is a mere data. How many murders he has committed? How many FIRs are there in his name? This data is nothing...its just facts and figures. I know him as a person. Had spent time with him. Virat Chavan ek insaan nahi...ek janwar hai...mad with blood lust. He kills before even thinking for a second. Uske bare aap ye jo baatein kar rahe hain na....bahut aasaan hai kyunki wo yaha nahi hai. Virat Chavan samne hota hai na to achhe achho ki pant geeli ho jati hai."

Satya shook his head on her words as if she was just exaggerating and glorifying a criminal. "Haan, haan...mujhe pata hai Virat Chavan kaun hai aur kya cheez hai. Lekin shayad tumhe nahi pata ki main kaun hoon aur kis kabil hoon. Main Virat Chavan aur us jaise mafia lords ko jad se khatam kar dena chahta hoon. Aur iske liye mujhe jo karna pade main karunga. Tumhara is plan mein shamil hona hamare liye jeet ki taraf pehla kadam hoga. Tum bilkul bhi tension mat lo, tumhari jaan ko koi khatra nahi hoga...I will assure that..." Satya was about to complete when Sai again interrupted him.

Sai smirked at him. "Aap keh rahe meri jaan ko khatra nahi hoga. Lekin baat sirf meri life aur death ki nahi hai. What about mental, emotional and....." Sai took a pause as she become uncomfortable for few moments thinking about being close to Virat again.

Sai continued after taking a deep breath. "....and may be about my physical torture...all that I'll have to bear because of him.

"What do you mean?" Satya asked fro clarification.

"Main bas itna janti hoon ki ek time tha jab main usse pyar karti thi lekin jab maine usse breakup karna chaha toh...he held me against my wishes, he wouldn't let me go away. Main tang aa gayi thi us life se. Isliye mujhe mauka mila toh main waha se bhaag gayi. Aur aap keh rahe hain ki phir usi pinjre mein wapas chali jaun? Na jane wo kya kya karega mere sath." Sai completed her sentence.

Satya was quite for some time. He was so engrossed in the planning that he hadn't thought much about this, about her pain and risk involved for her in this plan. "I know it will be difficult for you to face him again, face everything that you left behind but please try to understand hamare mission ke liye ye jaruri hai. Jo dangerous game humne plan kiya hai uska sabse jaruri mohra tum hi ho. And I am sure, he wont kill you. ...I know that....he was obsessed about you, you yourself said that. Agar tumne marne ka natak na kiya hota toh aaj bhi tum uske sath hoti. Intelligence ki news hai ki Virat Chavan ke sath tumhare baad se kisi ladki ka naam nahi juda hai...iska matlab toh yahi hai na ki who aaj bhi tumhare liye pagal hai. Wo tumhe nahi maarega balki phir se apne sath rakhne ki koshish karega, bas yahi to hum chahte hain." Satya began but Sai said in between.

"You try to understand. Your plan is very risky. I am not alone now. I have responsibility of these kids. I cant risk my life now." Sai said.

"Kya kar paogi in baccho ke liye? You'll spend your life time then also wont be able to give them a good life. But I can help you. I'll make sure you and your orphanage is given monetary help also." Satya gave her another reason to make Sai agree to his plan.

Sai kept quite for sometime as she wondered monetary help will be very useful for the orphanage but the very next moment she stopped her chain of thoughts. "No, you please go from here." Sai answered firmly.

Satya didn't know how to convince her, what reason to give her then suddenly he decided to explore her emotional weakness. "If you don't want to do it for money also then do it for revenge." Satya played his trump card.

"Revenge" Sai repeated after him as if already attracted by the idea.

"I know everything Sai....every torture, every injustice he did to you. You loved him and he thought he owned you. You were pregnant with his baby. You lost your baby before it was even born because some of his enemies attacked you to get back to him. He was responsible for your baby's death. You tried to break up with him and he held you captive like some slave. Don't you want to take revenge from that man?" Satya asked, he knew Sai will definitely agree now.

Sai just kept looking at him as the pain she had long buried deep down in her heart resurfaced. "I need some time to think." Sai could only utter these words and went inside the orphanage.

She ran inside her room and opened her cupboard. She searched frantically for something and finally found it hidden in the corner. She took it out and clutched it to her heart as she cried her heart out. It was a pair of woolen baby socks which she had made for her baby. She sat down on the floor as the scenes from her past life started floating in front of her eyes one by one. She kept sitting there whole day. She spent next two days in continuously thinking about her past and what Satya has told her. Satya didn't disturb her in these two days. He knew she needed time.

Satya visited orphanage again. He asked for Sai there but she was not in orphanage. Satya was about to return when he noticed that one luxurious car stopped at there and Sai came out of it. She came inside and found Satya waiting for her.

"I was about to call you today." Sai said but Satya didn't listen to her as he kept looking at the car with questioning eyes.

"They were Mr. & Mrs. Malhotra. Bahut ameer log hain lekin koi aulaad nahi hai. Hamare orphanage se bachha adopt karna chahte hain. Main unke ghar gayi thi verification ke liye, hamari routine process hai." Sai explained and Satya nodded at her.

Sai continued, "Un logo ke pas duniya ki sari daulat hai phir bhi unki life bachhe ke bina adhuri hai. Ek couple ke liye, khastaur par ek ladki ke liye uska bachha ek sapne ki tarah hota hai. Mere miscarriage ke baad mera sapna toot gaya. Main yaha itne saalo se is orphanage mein in bachho ke sath life spend kar rahi hoon, socha tha meri life ka adhurapan bhi mit jayega. Lekin us din aapki baatein sun kar jaise sari galatfemi dur ho gayi, maine socha tha mere zakhm bhar chuke hain lekin......" Sai trailed off as she couldn't control her tears.

"I can understand. You may not have talked or even thought about your past since years. Talk about it....let it out of your system." Satya encouraged her to share her pain.

Sai let her tears flow freely as she started telling him everything. She told him how she met Virat for the first time. How she was fascinated by him. How she couldn't stop herself from falling in love with him even after knowing that he was a criminal. All those beautiful moments she spent with him. Then how she came to realize that there is no future with a criminal. How she used to persuade him to leave underworld. But he didn't care a damn about what she thought. Slowly the love she had for him started fading away and she lost all her hopes from Virat. She was on the verge of breaking down when she got to know she was pregnant. She begged him to leave this crime world and start a new life for the sake of their baby but as usual he didn't want to listen anything. She had decided that she will not give birth to her baby here and jeopardize its future. She had made her mind to leave Virat."

Sai took a break to wipe her tears which were rolling down continuously now. Satya put his hand on her shoulder to offer comfort which she gladly took. Satya didn't know why but he felt relieved seeing her accepting his consolation. He nodded at her to continue.

She told Satya about that fateful day when she had lost her baby. She had given up on Virat long ago. For her, that baby was the only ray of sunshine. Her world came to an end with the death of her baby. Some of his enemies had attacked her, she had survived but lost her baby. She hated Virat for that. If he had left the crime world on her advice then her baby would have been alive. She blamed him for everything. She broke up with him and tried to end everything between them. She wanted to run away from him but he didn't even let her go. He refused to set her free because according to him, she belonged to him and whether she wanted it or not, she will always be with him. She was tired living like that. Then how one day when they were under attack she took advantage of the situation and faked her death and ran away.

Satya could understand her situation and frustration. He held her hand in his for support and she gladly  took it. She was all alone and she needed someone to say that its gonna be all ok one day.

Sai continued to share her feelings. "Its been more than 5 years since I left Virat. I would have died of suffocation eventually had I not ran away. Sometimes I wonder is it possible to love a man with all your heart and then hate the same man equally. I thought I will start my life afresh. Maybe I'll be able to forget him eventually and find love again also. But seems like I spent all the love in my heart for the man who was not even worthy of it. I tried but I couldn't bring myself to love again. Now there is only hatred left. I hate him. He destroyed my life, snatched away my happiness, my dreams from me. No matter how much I try to suppress it but hatred still burns inside my heart....I guess it will only end either on my death or his. And I would not like to miss the pleasure of killing him from my own hands. So yes I am ready to participate in your mission."

Satya was delighted to know her decision." I promise, you wont be disappointed. We will finish off all these mafia lords and also Virat Chavan.

Sai stopped him and tell him about her one condition. "But you have to make sure that when the moment comes you will let only me to kill Virat Chavan. Your mission either will prove to be a suicide mission for me or I'll be able to take my revenge and get over with it once and for all." Sai said with determination.

Satya smiled in reply and shook hands with her agreeing to her condition. "Ok, if that's what you want."

"Nahi, aise kaam nahi chalega. Promise me that only I will kill Virat Chavan. No one from your men or you will touch him. Mujhe mera badla khud lena hai usse."

Satya nodded his head. "Hum pehle Virat ke through baki sab mafia lords tak pahuchna chahte hain toh Virat Chavan toh last tak rahega. Phir jaisa ki tumhari ichha hai, I promise you that only you will kill him. Tumhe tumhara badla lene ka mauka jarur milega."
