I looked outside and noticed we were at his house.
"Dude, I don't put out that fast." I nudged him playfully.
"A guy can hope." He grinned mischievously. It still surprised me when his playful side came out.
Instead of going to the door we went around the house to his backyard. He had his hand on the small of my back to guide me. I had noticed that we were always touching each other one way or another. Not that I was complaining.
I gasped when I saw the scenery in front of me. There was a big white blanket attached to the wall of his garage. We were gonna watch a movie on that makeshift screen. In front of the screen there were two lawn chairs next to each other filled with blankets and pillows so we could sit or lie down comfortably. It looked incredible.
"Holy shit." Were the first words I could say.
"What d'you think?" Chase asked with a smile on his face. He had been watching my reaction so he already knew my opinion.
"Maybe I should put out." I said, still looking at the sight in front of me. Chase started laughing.
"Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back." He said and went inside. He didn't have to tell me twice.
I got rid of my shoes and sat down on the lawnchairs. I adjusted it so I was lieing but I could still see the screen perfectly, then I proceeded to cover myself with blankets. I was hoping I wouldn't fall asleep 'cause this was extremely cozy.
Chase got back with an ice bucket filled with all kinds of drinks, ranging from soft drinks to wine. In his other hand he had a bowl of popcorn. I wasn't gonna eat a lot of popcorn since I still felt stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving because of our dinner earlier.
I helped Chase with the buckets and he went over to the projector.
"What are we watching?" I looked up at him.
"The Notebook" He deadpanned. What?!
"You should've seen your face." Chase started laughing. I had actually fallen for that one.
"Shut up." I muttered but couldn't suppress my smile.
"We're watching Repulsion." As if this couldn't get any more perfect. It was one of my favorite movies. Repulsion is an old thriller, not a lot of people my age know it.
"I love Polanski!" I said excitedly while Chase was getting comfortable next to me.
"I know. I asked Code about it. He's my Jill whisperer." He scratched the back of his neck. It seemed as if he was uncomfortable admitting it.
"Jill whisperer? That's creepy, but effective." I smiled at him and shuffled against him so I was lying in his arms.
"Very effective." He answered after I was settled in his arms. I snorted.
"Shh, it's starting." I whispered. Ten minutes in I got thirsty but I really didn't want to move. Life was so hard. I accidently groaned.
"What's wrong?" I could hear the amusement in Chase's voice.
"I'm thirsty but I'm so comfortable here." I could feel his chest vibrate against me.
"Well, I'm pushing you away 'cause I'm thirsty too." He said, but didn't move a muscle.
"Anytime soon?" I teased him.
"I understand your struggle." He said seriously. We moved anyway and Chase opened the bottle of wine.
We clinked our glasses and took a sip. It was sweet tasting. We put the glasses on the little table next to Chase and then I impulsively kissed him before he could lie down again.
