Although I liked them better when they were tipsy because when they were sober they tended to talk about politics and stuff they'd learned in class. It made me feel dumb. I didn't like feeling dumb.
Did I feel like going to a college party? I guess there wasn't anything else to do.
"What are you guys doing this weekend?" I asked the guys.
"I think we're hanging out with Jacob." Code said. They loved Code's hair by the way. Gwen was proud that I was able to do something decent with his hair.
I groaned. I didn't like Jacob, he was a stoner. I mean, I didn't mind people smoking pot. I know it's not addicting and it enhances your current emotions so I'd tried it once because I was curious. I didn't think it was special so I never did it again.
I didn't like it, however, when people were being pushy about trying it a few times. Jacob was one of those people. Needless to say I only hung out with him when there was no other choice.
Gwen didn't like Jacob either. They'd hooked up a few times and afterwards it got awkward and they just stopped hanging out. Now, whenever someone talks about Jacob she looks as if she was entering a smelly toilet.
"College party it is!" I exclaimed. Gwen looked happy. She knew she'd won when she heard about the guys' plans.
"It'll be fun! You haven't hooked up with guys in such a long time Jill." Gwen said. I don't hook up. I'm not that kind of person. I really don't see the appeal of getting drunk and making out with a stranger. And drunk kisses are sloppy, disgusting kisses. Doesn't sound that appealing now, does it?
I knew what she meant though. I haven't had a boyfriend in six months. I don't fall in love easily so when I do and I'm in a relationship I go all out. So of course when there's a break up I fall hard.
My last relationship lasted a little over a year and it was nice but we didn't exactly end it in the best way possible. That's an understatement. It wasn't pretty.
Gwen is the opposite of me. She hooks up at parties and rarely gets in a serious relationship. I guess she was thirsty for some college men.
"Okay, come to my place at ten tonight and we'll get ready together." Gwen and I had this ritual. We'd always get ready together when we went to a party. It was always fun and we were different when the guys weren't around. I don't think we did it on purpose, it's just something I'd noticed.
"Hey if you girls just want to hook up, I'm your man." Jake smirked. The worst part is that he actually would.
"No, you're a boy. College guys are men." Gwen poked Jake's cheek. That comeback wasn't bad at all, I shot her a proud look and she beamed and winked at me.
"Psh, they're nerds." Code muttered. He was probably thinking about his brother and his friends or something.

It was almost ten when I heard a knock on the door. Gwen had arrived. I opened the door and she looked as if she had too much coffee. She was really excited to go out.
She had a bag with her that probably contained her clothes and makeup.
"Let's do this!" She was already heading upstairs when I was closing the door. Eager girl.
We took a shot of tequila before we started on our hair and makeup. Told you we had a ritual. I put some neutral colored eyeshadow on my eyelids and finished it off with a winged eyeliner. Yes, winged. I was living on the edge today.
I even put some lipstick on. It was just a tint redder than my normal lip color, so it made my lips stand out a little bit but it was still subtle. I decided not do to much with my hair, letting it fall wavy and naturally.
