I don't try to understand Code, I just accept him the way he is. Wow, that sounded way too sweet for me. I'll just kick some puppies later.
Kidding! Ok, not funny, I get it. Mental note: do not joke about kicking puppies.
Another text from Code. He must be really bored. Or maybe he was in an awkward situation or something.
What can I say, I'm unpredictable. Livin on the edge
I snorted. Yeah, he's very adventurous.
Whatever you say studmuffin
He absolutely hates cute nicknames. So we all take advantage of that. I didn't get a text back. I knew those three texts were stretching it.
When it was time to leave I threw a Ramones hoodie on because it was getting chilly. I locked the door and headed to my beloved car.
Maybe if I wished hard enough, someday my car would turn into a motorcycle. Hey, a girl can dream.
There was no traffic on the road so I got there in ten minutes. Usually I didn't bother knocking and went inside, but I wasn't sure if his parents were home.
Code's parents own a restaurant so they're not home very often. When I know they are, I'd always knock because I'm such a wonderful person. I do have manners. I just don't show them a lot.
Since I wasn't sure I decided to knock instead of barging in like usual.
I heard a dog bark and shuffling of feet and then the door opened.
"Oh, hi Jill." It was Chase, Code's brother. Code would never greet me this politely.
Chase was wearing a Harvard tshirt and sweatpants. He was barefoot. I don't understand that. I never walk around without any socks. I love socks. They're nice and keep your feet warm. Right now I was wearing Simpsons socks. Okay, I don't know why I'm ranting about socks, just remember they're awesome.
Chase had dark eyes and the same hair as Code but it was a shade darker, so it was like a chocolate brown.
He's two years older and goes to Harvard. Hence the tshirt. He's a dork. Seriously. He's a very serious and dull person. School is everything to him. I'd never had a conversation longer than five minutes with him before.
It was weird since Code is so laidback. They do get along most of the time. I think. Code doesn't talk about his brother a lot. Not that I would care.
Chase gestured for me to get inside.
"Hey Chase." I greeted him. And that would be our conversation for today.
Suddenly Bus ran up to me. Bus is a bull terrier. I think he's a cute little dog but I'm not allowed to say that. According to Code he's a badass dog. Dogs can't be both badass and cute. Whatever.
"Code's upstairs." I'd almost forgot Chase was still there.
"Okay, thanks Chase." I said. After a few cuddles with Bus I took my shoes off and headed upstairs.
Well, that was a long conversation. Look at me, being overly social on a Monday.
I opened the door to Code's room and noticed he was playing a game. What a surprise. "Code I've missed you so much baby!" I walked up to him and give him a little kick with my foot.
"Gross, you sound like Jake when he's hooking up with a girl." Ha, I really did.
"Nice socks." He raised his left eyebrow. I just grinned. See? Socks are awesome.
