A/N: Thanks to psychosis and rukz01 I got the idea for this piece. Ladies, gentlemen, undecided and all of the above, I give you the night of the theft....

There's nothing quite like doing something you know you're not supposed to be doing. A smile tugged at the lips of the culprit, showing that there was no remorse in this moment, no sign of the protestations of innocence that would follow in the light of day after the events of this night were discovered.

The only thing better than doing something you know is forbidden, is getting away with it and then doing it again, and again and again. The shadow slipping through the night darkness had to push down the urge to laugh, feeling the adrenaline high screaming in veins thick with blood. It was hard not to enjoy this chance to get out and about. The Councillors all thought that there was only one way in and out of the House. That might be true to these idiots that had no imagination, but the theif knew no barriers to their skill.

Although it didn't look like it to any of the so-called adults, there was a pattern to the thefts and the attacks. A reason behind why each person had something special taken away, a specific purpose to the attack on Luna. The thief knew that others saw the actions taken as a disgrace, the steps taken by a coward and someone lower than them all. But pride wasn't as important as knowing inside who was better. How dare they look down on this ninja in the night? This paradigm of the ultimate cat burglar had bested them all, taken from them the things they had cherished most. For no other reason than that they had them and the theif had wanted to take them away.

Slipping into the House closest to home base was risky but going to be worth it in the end. Greedy eyes had spied a beautiful bauble around someone's neck. Even if it wasn't going into personal use, it was going to cost the slut who wore it more grief than any money would have made the thief happy. Sneaking into the House the same way egress had been achieved tricked the security measures currently in place. There was no room for the honour system in the real world and it certainly served no purpose here with freaks, geeks, monsters and morons. A task that would have been made far easier with the addition of Magic or a native stealth like a lycanthrope would have but those options weren't available.

Instead this professional relied only on the thrills a human would have in this circumstance. There would be no way to hide should the target wake up, no ally to call on should a witness catch the scene. Unsure if this was a House with a Councillor sleeping on the couch, the thief moved as if gifted with a feather's weight. There were no telltale creaks in the floor boards, no scream from a rusty hinge to betray the location of the thief in the night. Nothing barred the way between the sneak and the target, the necklace stolen in a whisper of shadows. Escape was made quickly, fleeing from the likelihood of capture.

The darkness held less excitement on the return trip and it was a fading high, already making the sneak crave more, a bigger risk, a scarier danger to overcome. This wasn't enough anymore. Climbing back in the route that had allowed escape, Trinity managed to take one step towards her bed when someone's hand wrapped around her mouth, muffling her screams and then with a strange feeling of ripping, she was back outside with Virgil's hand keeping her silent.

Jerking free from his grip, Trinity spun and spat to get the taste of his hand out of her mouth. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" she demanded, trying to think up an excuse to have been caught sneaking back IN.

"Don't f*ck with me witch. I am all kinds of bad news. Give it to me, and tell me where the rest is hidden or I'll put you over my knee and spank you myself. If you want to act like a spoiled rich bitch that's one thing but you're stealing things that have no intrinsic worth. You just want to make others as miserable as you are."

"I want my Magic back!" Trinity hissed, eyes flashing in anger. "I'm on pro-f*cking-bation remember? They won't let me have my rightful, god-given Magic back. Because they're selfish and want to keep it for themselves!"

Virgil looked at the witch and started to laugh. It wasn't a happy sound, instead seemed to be both mocking and intimidating. Trinity took an involuntary step back and swallowed. "This is not helping to prove your case crone." he used the insulting term for a witch. Before the girl could flee away or sneak past him, he grabbed a handful of her hair. "Tell me where the other items are. If they search our House and find your stolen items, they will punish all of us. And I am not willing to suffer so that a child like yourself can feel important. You have your Magic, probation or not, so suck it up and grow up. You just want to feed your addiction. Have the balls to admit that to yourself at least." he released her roughly and the witch fell to the ground with a soft sob.

He loomed over her, waiting for the crocodile tears to stop. She wasn't hurt bad, her ego and pride worse than the small ache in her scalp or barked knees. When the witch saw that her ploy wasn't working, the tears dried up instantaneosly and she glowered at him. "Fine." she hissed again.  "There's a bag in the back of one of the toilets. All the items are there." she confessed with a huff, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Thank you. Now get back to bed." Virgil's tone slid back into his friendly tones though now the witch saw past that social facade to realize he was a lot more dangerous than anticipated. Before the witch could question him or how a supposed empath could 'jump' them like that, he grabbed her and with that same ripping sensation dropped her back off in the bathroom. Making sure the witch saw him take the stolen goods, he vanished once again without a sound. To say that was creepy would be an understatement.

Virgil wasn't exactly altruistic enough to return every item to every person who'd been stolen from, so he buried the bag somewhere he could relocate later and went to bed himself. He could always return it all in the morning to the dragon and that would settle the matter. Too bad he slept in.....

A/N: I know it's shorter but this little exchange should show you more of Virgil's not quite a sweetheart side and Trinity's nefarious deeds are noticed. Wonder what's going to happen next?
