So yeah. Challenges? I sure faced a lot. xD
3. Why did you choose to write about the gods?
Funny 온라인카지노게임. The gods are actually one of the last additions in building up PTGD's plot. I first got the idea from a vague cover idea way back 2018. With my primitive graphic designing skills, I made that cover but without an actual 온라인카지노게임. But, I liked the idea of a retelling of the Pied Piper fairytale and how he could lead people along with just his music. So, I thought: what if it's not music, but rather, stories?
And from there, I slotted an idea about a piper who told stories for a living, and for some reason, he ended up causing a war between humans and monsters. Then, I forgot about it and the idea rotted alone in a hypothetical basement. Then, ONC 2022 rolled around and viola! One of the prompts, the bodyguard thing, leaped out at me.
From there, I combined the old idea of a piper causing a war between monsters and humans with the bodyguard prompt. But one question still remains: how in the world were humans and monsters against each other?
I started thinking of the political backdrop of this sneakily vague world. Then, the idea of the gods popped up to me based on another prompt (the walled survivors thing) and everything is hi온라인카지노게임 from there.
I didn't really choose to write about gods. Rather, the concept chose me and this particular 온라인카지노게임. uwu
4. Does any 카지노후기 온라인카지노게임 or Published 온라인카지노게임 influence you to write?
One of my first inspirations is dear old Uncle Rick. Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the succeeding series and books by Rick Riordan sparked a trail in my desire to tell my own stories. The humor, wit, plot twists, down to the structure of the series and books, I patterned after him. He is the first traditionally-published author I read for and I'm glad I did because without PJO, I wouldn't ever be here.
Another author is Soman Chainani. Along with PJO, School for Good and Evil is another series I adore with all my heart. The themes, the plot, the world, and the characters are done so well. I learned how to tackle themes and character arcs from SGE and I love, love, love Soman's genius but subtle humor and wit.
Next is perhaps Ransom Riggs with his Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I looooved the worldbuilding, the genius mish-mash of urban fantasy and historical fiction. I found the vintage pictures to be creepy but I admire how much of a genius Ransom had in him to be able to string a coherent 온라인카지노게임 out of random pictures he got from flea markets and various sources. The way he handled his dark setting, his gritty characters, and the creepy creatures is something I want to emulate.
Lastly, Eoin Colfer deserves much praise for the Artemis Fowl series. It was so sneakily funny and smart. It was probably the only series that I read from start to finish twice. I love the worldbuilding, the wit and humor, and most specifically, I love the main character and how badass he is. If I ever wanna write an urban fantasy mixed with sci-fi, Eoin's my man. xD
5. What advice would you like to give to other writers writing in the same genre?
One writing advice in general: be patient. Things take time and writing, both as a skill and as an art form, takes a while to master. No matter what it was, whether be it prose, 온라인카지노게임 structure, or finding your authorial voice—all of them take practice and an insane amount of writing to truly be an expert. So, be patient with yourself. Don't rush. Go at your own pace. You'll get there in no time.
For genre-specific advice, I guess I'll say that Fantasy is a relatively easy genre since you can let your mind and imagination flourish. But you also have to be consistent, believable, and most importantly, interesting and fresh. These are some of the pitfalls of several worlds and stories. So, you would be better off keeping those aspects in mind when developing your world.
I have so much writing advice to give that I have gathered throughout my eight years of immersing myself in the art of writing but if I say them all, we'll be here until I'm forty.
6. Who is your favorite fantasy author?
I think I answered this above. xD It would be impossible to choose from a plethora of awesome writers I have read for in all my life. But yeah, Rick Riordan holds the top spot.
7. Do you love reading Asian Fantasy? If not, which is your favorite genre to read and why?
To be honest, no. xD I have never read any asian fantasy books that are traditionally published and I never considered them until the recent flood of asian voices in the market. I just happened to choose asian fantasy for PTGD because it's an interesting angle to take with a Western fairytale. (Ha! Take that, Elizabeth Lim!)
I am pretty open with my reading preferences. I think it's better to ask me what I wouldn't read and that includes erotica, horror, and fanfiction. All the other genres on the face of the earth are open, playing fields. Still, fantasy and its numerous subgenres are always going to be my safe spaces.
8. Any favourite TV shows which have a lot of magic and fantasy?
For Western tv shows, I highly recommend Tales of Arcadia, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Dragon Prince, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Miraculous Ladybug, Arcane, The Umbrella Academy, the MCU movies and shows, and Love, Death, and Robots.
For k-dramas, there's The Uncanny Counter, Legend of the Blue Sea, W: Two Worlds, Ghost Doctor, Tomorrow, Mr. Queen, He is Psychometric, and Hotel Del Luna.
Lastly, for animes, I recommend Attack on Titan, Devil is a Part-timer, Zetsuen no Tempest, Hotarubi no Mori e, Bungo Stray Dogs, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, I'm a Spider, So What?, Parallel World Pharmacy, Jujutsu Kaisen, Re:ZERO, Akatsuki no Yona, Sword Art Online: Alicization, My Next Life as a Villainess, The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat (yes, that's a long title lol), and Spirited Away.
I'm a wide entertainment consumer so bear with me. xD
