Steve's Point of View

"Quiet down everyone," Lourd said into the microphone. "We need to start the meeting."

Everyone in the village was in the church, which Steve learned was called the Town Hall. There were about 75 people total.

Steve sat in the back row. Ruby sat on one side of him, and Jay sat on the other. Ruby sat a little closer to Steve than was necessary. Steve couldn't deny that he liked it.

Ruby and Jay had filled him in with a little bit about how the village worked. Every day, all the adults in the village got assigned to a certain day. They had a random generator that decided what each person did. There were jobs such as mining, farming, repairs, hunting, and Zombie shift. Steve hoped he would get to get a job today. He didn't want to be alone, moping around his house.

Today, Lourd had called for a special meeting in the Town Hall. Steve assumed he would tell everyone about what happened.

"Everyone," Lourd said. "Our leader, Steve, has come back to us. He--"

Lourd was cut off by everyone clapping. He waited for everyone to calm down, then said, "Unfortunately, he has lost his memories, thanks to Mojang."

The crowd stared murmuring to each other. "Silence!" Lourd called. "We will try to get his memories back. But that may take awhile. In the meantime, please try to be extra nice to Steve. Don't assume he remembers anything, because he doesn't. He only knows a few of us here."

Steve was offended by this, but then he realized it was true. So, he didn't say anything.

"Now, everyone, get your assigned jobs. Have a great day." Lourd said, and he turned the microphone off.

Everyone started getting up. The adults all went to the side of the building and waited in line for something. Steve assumed it was for their jobs.

"C'mon Steve, let's go get out jobs!" Jay said, jumping up.

Steve started to follow him, when Ruby said, "I don't think so! He needs rest."

"Lady, rest is the last thing he needs," Jay said. "We need to go create some memories. Let's go!"

"Sorry Ruby," Steve said. "I want something to do."

Ruby sighed and followed them over to the line. She muttered something that Steve couldn't quite make out.

They waited in line for awhile. Jay told Steve who a few of the people were. Lee and Dee, the two Minecraftian twins, weren't very good at combat, but had great spirit. Tommy was a Villager who was about sixteen. He was an amazing archer. Cupcake was a thirteen year old Minecraftian girl who could beat almost anyone in a sword fight. Hal, the Villager priest was a grumpy guy, but he still would enchant anything for anyone.

"You see that kid over there?" Jay asked, pointing at Louis. "That's Louis. His parents were taken hostage by Mojang because they made a scientific breakthrough about Herobrine's technology. They're being forced to help Mojang control monsters. Louis lives with his aunt and uncle."

"I feel bad for the kid," Steve said. "I know how he feels, losing his family."

Jay looked like he was about to say something, then seemed to think better of it and closed his mouth. Luckily, they were at the front of the line now.

There was a simple dispenser with a lever next to it. A small keyboard was below it. There was a sign next to it that said: "Please type in your ID".

"What's my ID?" Steve asked Jay.

"It's your birthday, man," Jay replied.

Steve stared at him blankly.

"Oh yeah," Jay said. "Uh..."

"It's January 5th, 1995," Ruby said from behind them.

"Thanks," Steve said as he typed that on the keyboard. "By the way, what's today's date?" he asked.

"September 16th," Ruby answered.

Steve pulled the lever and a piece of paper came out. "Nether patrol?" he read. "What's that?"

"You collect Nether wart and stuff in the Nether," Jay replied, typing his birthday into the keyboard. "There's a portal down in the mine."

"Oh," Steve replied.

"Ah, yeah baby!" Jay exclaimed as he read his paper. "I got Nether patrol too!" He held up his hand for a high five. Steve shrugged and high fived him.

Ruby typed in her birthday. "Ugh," she said as her paper came out. "I'm harvesting potatoes today."

"Ha ha!" Jay laughed in her face. "C'mon buddy. Let's go to the Nether!" he said to Steve.

Jay pulled Steve out the door. Steve mouthed "sorry" to Ruby as they left her behind.

Steve followed Jay down the gravel path leading away from the Town Hall. He watched as a little girl who looked about four years old ran up behind Goley, the friendly iron golem, and tugged on the vines hanging from him. Goley turned around, but the girl had run around to the other side. He turned around again but the girl kept running around him. Goley swung his arms and picked the girl up. He swung her around, and the girl giggled uncontrollably. Then Goley set her down and picked a daisy. He held it out to the girl, who smiled and took it.

This made Steve smile. Goley was much friendlier than The Iron Destroyer.

"First, you're gonna need weapons," Jay said to Steve. "To the armory!"

They walked inside a building that looked like it used to be a simple forge, but was obviously added on to. Inside, there were chests everywhere. Not as many as in the preparing room in Mojang Headquarters, but still a lot.

"Help yourself," Jay said as he got out his iron axe.

"Hey, why do you use axes?" Steve asked as he walked over to a chest labelled 'Swords'. "Why not swords?"

"Axes are easier to handle in my opinion," Jay answered nonchalantly, but it seemed like he was hiding something. Steve decided not to pry.

He picked out an iron sword, and got suited up in full iron armor. Jay got iron armor, too.

Before they left, Jay got out two potions. He gave one to Steve. "Fire resistance," Jay said. "Blazes and Ghasts can be really dangerous, shooting fireballs all the time."

Steve nodded, and they continued walking through the village. Steve noticed Ruby collecting potatoes at a small farm.

"Hey, what is this village called?" Steve asked.

"Creektown," Jay answered. "But we call it the Resistance Headquarters when Mojang isn't around."

"Oh," Steve said. Then, "Doesn't Mojang have cameras everywhere? How have they not found you?"

"We have our tech wizards feed the cameras fake footage," Jay replied, as if it weren't a big deal.

"Oh wow," Steve said. "Cool."

They entered a man-made mine and walked down the steps. When they finally reached the bottom, they turned right down a small corridor. Steve estimated they were around level 15. (Level 1 is the lowest level of land in Minecraft, underground. Not counting the Nether.)

They corridor led them into a small room. At one end was a Nether portal, and chests lined the walls.

They walked straight to the portal. The center was purple.

"You ready for this?" Jay asked.

Steve nodded. This would be his first time to the Nether hat he could remember.

Jay slapped him on the back. "Then let's go!" he exclaimed.

They jumped into the portal together. Everything turned purple, then the world disappeared.

So I've actually been doing a chapter every day, pretty much. So yeah, you can expect that, but I won't always get one chapter every day.

Thanks for reading, and remember to vote, comment, and follow!
