Steve's Point of View

Steve opened his eyes to the sun's rays shining through his windows. He was happy to be in the Resistance.

Last night, after his kissing session with Ruby, he had helped Kirai and Tommy out with the Zombie shift. He didn't know why, but it made him feel better when he was slicing through Zombies with his sword.

He had gone to bed very late last night, and looking at the clock beside his bed, he had slept in. He hoped no one would yell at him.

Steve got up, stretched, and left his house. Villagers and Minecraftians alike were out working already. Steve didn't meet anyone he knew on his way to the Town Hall, although he did see Goley playing with Emily again.

There was no one in the Town Hall. Everyone was already working. Steve wondered where Lourd was.

He put his ID into the keyboard, then pressed the button on the job dispenser. Out came a piece of paper that said "Repairs".

Steve figured that meant he had to repair anything that was broken. But how was he supposed to know what needed fixing?

"Hi Steve!" a voice called from behind him. He turned around.

Louis stood at the door.

"Oh hey, Louis," Steve replied. Louis ran over to Steve.

"What job are you doin' today?" he asked excitedly.

"I'm on repair duty. Any chance you can show me what to do?" Steve asked.

"Sure thing, buddy!" Louis exclaimed. "Follow me!" He ran out the door, and Steve followed him.

Louis led him to a small house. Inside were a few chests.

"This is where you get the stuff to repair the buildings!" Louis explained.

Steve walked over to a chest and opened it. Inside was a bunch of cobblestone, wooden planks, glass, and more. Steve took a bunch of everything.

"Thanks Louis," he said, patting him on the head as he left the building.

"Wait!" Louis called. "You still need my help!"

"No, I don't," Steve called back. "You're just a little kid!"

"Oh yeah? Do you know which buildings to repair?"

Steve stopped short. Louis was right.

He sighed. "Show me what to do."

For the next few hours, Louis told Steve which buildings needed repairing, and Steve fixed them.

Louis never left Steve's side, unless he was up on a roof of a house.

"This is my house," Louis said proudly. Steve recognized it as the place he had fought off those Zombies. His aunt and uncle weren't in the house at the moment. They must be out working.

"What needs repairing?" Steve asked as they walked inside.

"There's a hole in the wall up there," Louis said, pointing. Steve looked, and saw what Louis was talking about. He climbed up on a bookshelf to replace it.

"Well actually, this is my aunt and uncle's house," Louis said out of nowhere. "My mommy and daddy were kidnapped by Mojang. They're being forced to work for them."

"I'm very sorry about that," Steve said awkwardly. He wasn't very good at comforting people.

"It's okay! One day, I'm gonna get my mommy and daddy back and destroy Mojang!" Louis said proudly.

"I don't doubt that, buddy," Steve said as he finished fixing the hole. He stepped down off the bookshelf. He noticed that Louis was looking at something in his hand.

"Whatchya got there?" Steve asked.

"A little toy my daddy carved for me when I was little. It's the only thing I have left to remember my parents," Louis said without looking up.

Steve knelt down next to Louis. The toy was a wooden carving of a cow. Louis must carry it around everywhere.

"Here, you can have it," Louis said, handing it to Steve.

Steve didn't accept it. "I can't take this. It's your treasure, not mine."

"Think of it as a present from me to you. Cause remember, you're my buddy!" Louis smiled.

Steve smiled. He took the cow toy. "Louis, I promise you, I will find you your parents, and I will free them. You will be reunited with them."

Louis jumped up and hugged Steve, surprising him. Steve hugged him back.

And then the house exploded.

Steve felt like the world was in slow motion. He saw pieces of the house going everywhere. He saw Louis, his eyes closed, flying next to him. Steve put his arms around him protectively.

They landed on the ground, and shards of broken glass landed near them. Steve shielded Louis from them with his own body.

Then someone jumped down from the half broken roof and landed in front of them. The figure walked out of the smoke.

He wore all gold armor, except for his head. He wasn't wearing a helmet, so Steve could see his shaggy brown hair and black shades. A golden chain was hanging from his neck, and he held a gold sword at his side.

For some reason, all the gold tipped Steve off about who this was.

Skydoesminecraft.

Or Sky, as most people called him.

And he was coming straight for them.

Steve stood up, readying his iron sword. "Run!" he shouted to Louis and anyone nearby.

Sky and Steve charged at each other and started dueling with their swords. Sky, who Steve assumed was a bounty hunter, was a very good swordsman. But Steve knew gold swords didn't last long in battle. Once Sky had to switch swords, Steve would take his chance.

They swung and sliced and stabbed with their swords. Steve was beginning to tire. Why hadn't Sky's sword broken yet?

That's when he noticed the purple glow coming from the sword. It was enchanted.

Probably with unbreaking.

Steve managed to trip Sky, then got hit in the shoulder with an arrow. He turned.

Someone in a blue spacesuit and an orange space helmet was shooting at him with a bow and arrows. Steve knew who this was too.

MinecraftUniverse, or Jason as most people called him.

Steve was about to run over there when Sky got back up and tried stabbing him in the chest. He barely managed to block it.

The two started dueling again, and now Steve had to dodge arrows that flew at him every few seconds.

"Steve! Behind you!" he heard Louis scream.

Steve whirled around, but he was too late.

A brown body bag was pulled over him, by someone who couldn't have been Sky or Jason. Steve struggled to escape, but someone slammed him over the head with something heavy.

Steve blacked out.
