Jean's Point of View

Jean knocked on Notch's office door. He had called her up for an urgent meeting. It must be important, since Notch never called for urgent meetings.

The sun was setting. It was a few hours after Steve had won the deal with Notch.

Jean had been very surprised when Steve had defeated The Iron Destroyer. No one in hi온라인카지노게임 had ever beaten it. Yet Steve managed to surprise her once again.

She knew she should've shot him when he had come through the portal. But, she had been taken by surprise, and Notch had had to come down there to relieve her.

The door opened, and Notch stood there, looking much different than usual. He usually had a big smile on his face and cheery eyes. Now, he looked extremely tired, and he had bags under his eyes. He held a cup of coffee in his hands.

"Sit, please," he said flatly. His voice was usually bright and animated. Jean wondered what was wrong.

She sat down in the chair across from his desk and said, "What's wrong, sir?"

Notch sat down behind his desk and replied, "We lost Steve."

"What do you mean, we lost Steve?" Jean asked. "We have security cameras everywhere on every Sector, so that no area of land isn't under surveillance."

"Well, he disappeared from the cameras," Notch stated.

"An invisibility potion, perhaps?" Jean inquired.

"Our men checked his inventory before dropping him in Sector 29. He did not have the correct ingredients to make a potion of invisibility," Notch responded.

"Where was he last seen?" Jean asked, confused. How could Steve avoid the cameras?

"He was last seen climbing Notch mountain," Notch replied. "Near Creektown, he simply disappeared."

Jean thought for a moment. Creektown was a small village on Notch mountain, with nothing interesting about it. "Did he go to Creektown?" she asked.

"We checked the footage from Creektown," Notch said. "But the Villagers showed no new arrival. They continue doing the same business as always. They're very boring."

"But....how could he have just vanished?" Jean wondered.

"I do have one theory," Notch said, taking a sip of his coffee. "One day, a member of the Resistance was seen running through the grassland below Notch mountain. Later, we couldn't find him anywhere. He was last seen near Creektown."

Jean started to catch on. "So, you think that maybe Creektown is the Resistance's secret base?"

"It's possible," Notch said. "We never could find their headquarters. Maybe they live there, and have been feeding our cameras fake footage of Villagers going about their business like in normal villages. But really, the Resistance trains there."

"So that means," Jean said. "That Steve is with the Resistance?!"

"If my theory is correct, than yes," Notch replied. "That is not a good thing. If it is true, than he knows how close he came to defeating us last week."

"Should I send in the Cave Spiders or Silverfish?" Jean asked. "They are both ready to fight."

"Save them for caves," Notch answered. "They're stronger there. Are there any aboveground monsters ready yet?"

"No new ones, sir," Jean replied. "But the Zombies are ready for another go."

Notch pondered this. "Send in Alpha as a spy," he said. "Then tell him to report back to us. If the Resistance is there, we will stage a full-blown attack on it tomorrow."

"Yes sir," Jean replied. She took out her Minetablet and started typing in commands.

"Yes, Steve better prepare himself," Notch said, more to himself than to Jean. He was staring out the window. "Because I am coming for him."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Jean looked up from her Minetablet as Notch called, "Come in!"

A Witch opened the door. At first, Jean didn't recognize her. Then she realized this was the Witch that gave Notch his de-aging potions, Madge. Jean secretly hated Madge for allowing Notch to live longer.

"It's time for your potions, sir," Madge said. She could talk because she was smart enough to give herself a potion of speech.

"Ah, yes," Notch said, standing up. Madge walked over to his desk with a potion in her hands.

Notch took the potion and drank it without hesitation. After all, he does do this every night.

"I feel better already," he said happily.

"I'm sure you do, sir," Madge said in her witchy voice. "I added a few ingredients to brighten your day."

"Why thank you, Madge," Notch replied.

Jean's Minetablet buzzed, but it wasn't who she thought it would be. She clicked on the message.

"Sir, Jeb says that Steve is too hard to catch," Jean said. "He said he is going to call back his bounty hunters."

"What, because three bounty hunters couldn't catch him?" Notch asked sarcastically. "Tell him I will double the price I am paying him right now if he has his bounty hunters continue to chase after Steve."

Madge left without a word. Jean typed into her Minetablet. Then she looked up.

"Do we really have 800 emeralds to
spend every day?" she asked.

"It's worth it," Notch said. "We have to stop Steve. No matter what happens."

To Jean, it seemed like Notch didn't only want to stop Steve because he almost shut down Mojang last week. There seemed to be something else. Something he was hiding. Jean decided to find out.

"Sir, if I may ask," she started carefully. "Why exactly do you want to kill Steve, of all people? Why just him?"

Notch looked up angrily. "I don't just want to kill him. I want the entire Resistance dead! Plus, he's a threat. He has managed to escape all of our monsters and traps. And it doesn't seem to just be luck. We. Need. Steve. Dead."

Jean nodded without a word. She felt like she was intruding on personal business.

Her Minetablet buzzed. "Sir, Alpha is ready to spy on the Resistance," she said. "When do we have him deployed?"

"Tomorrow morning," Notch answered. "If the Resistance is in Creektown, we will attack in two days."

"Yes sir," Jean nodded. She got up to leave. When she reached the door, her Minetablet buzzed once again. She looked down at it.

The message she read terrified her.

"Sir," she gulped.

"Yes?" Notch replied, not looking up from the screen on his desk.

"I just got a message from the surveillance watchers," Jean started nervously.

"Herobrine's back."
