This one was suggested by more than one person, 00link10 and centurymintmadness. Camp Darkness and La Belle Bete. Since the one world involves magic and the other doesn't it's definitely a mental exercise!

"Just remember, we're here to do recon. This is a human club and they're pretty much not expecting any of our kind to saunter in there and start something messy." Gideon reminded her Trickster lover. Virgil grinned at her and she felt the chittering of blood lust inside respond. "No, we're both more controlled than this. Behave. Besides, do you really want to know what I could do to you in a club like this?" the question was meant to be rhetorical but Virgil actually sighed a little as if he enjoyed the mental image.

"Oh, I have a few ideas. That's why I'm hoping I can make you forget about your carefully constructed box of rules and have a little fun." He promised and Gideon snapped her teeth in the air as a subtle warning. She was a Fury, and in a crowded club it would be hard enough to hold her zap down because it was inevitable that someone would touch her here. Not her favourite thing in world in all honesty, but they were doing a favour for one of Gideon's very few friends.

Her friend Xavier is a golem who had been created for the sex trade, but through luck and an ill timed death had been given his freedom. Normally they worked at Camp Darkness together but it was down for repairs so Gids had some time to kill, and a whole army of people watching her every move to make sure she didn't turn that phrase into a literal blood bath. So instead of violence, there was spleunking; Xavier had heard that this club existed and he wanted to have someone he trusted check it out and see if maybe they could get some Portentums into it. It would help those that fed upon sex based energy, but it was definitely in the plain old boring human area of town.

"If we can get a little one on one time into the mix, I promise to show you why you shouldn't be excited by the prospect." Gideon found herself saying and Virgil laughed as they waited in line. Luckily Xavier had gotten them the date of an Open House event so that they didn't need to use magics to sneak in and eavesdrop, instead they were playing at civilians, even if they were the most twisted things in the club.

Virgil leaned close against her back so he could whisper in her ear. "Leather and chains and whips, oh my." This time Gideon let a little of her zap loose so that it slapped against his face.

But as they were escorted in the front door, both Gideon and Virgil sobered up because there was an unmistakable glyph above the doorway, invisible to these mere humans and yet plain as day to them. It translated roughly to Magic Lock in Place. What that meant for the two Portentums was that they could enter and leave, play merry hob even, but not access their arcane abilities while inside the building. It seems that the company of monsters was expected here, even if it wasn't advertised.

"Oh this is just gonig to make it more fun." Gideon nearly purred now, the killer inside excited by playing under harder rules. With a magic lock in place, she didn't have to concentrate on her zap, or hold back on her bloody violence, the ward would do it for her. She could probably crush it if she needed to, Fury's are chaos creatures and can wear down even the Glyphs, but she didn't actually mind playing human for a night.

The crowds inside the club were as deliciously devious as either Gideon or Virgil could wish, the costumes varying from cheap sex to titillating beacons and both of them were amused to find themselves the focus of a lot of attention even if no one could tell what they were. Gideon walked with the confident grace of a deadly predator and Virgil had the arrogant swagger of the Trickster, and both radiated dominance, which in a club like this was a powerful thing even without magic to back it up. Those some of the attention was quite likely due to their lack of appropriate attire; Virgil was wearing simple black jeans and no shirt but Gideon was as always wearing her jeans and a tank top, neither of which were even pretending to be sexual.
