"I think I'm about, 'bout to hurt somebody Swear this man is begging me to leave him I'm getting sick of being so mistreated".

(Melanie Fiona- 4am)

The rain aggressively hit the windshield of Zathura's car. She was pushing past the speed limit when she arrived at the house she and her fiancé shared. She snatched her seatbelt off and slammed the door to her car. Once Zathura touched the cool doorknob, she calmed down a little.

Zathura entered the living room with a stale face, only to see her no-good fiancé sitting on the couch. He turned around to greet her, but he noticed the bitter facial expression on her face. He noticed the envelope in her hand with familiar handwriting.

"How could you do this to me after all we have been through together," Zathura asked.

" It's not what you think I promise," Calvin pleaded.

"Well, explain how the hell did these pictures get in my damn work mailbox," Zathura snapped.

She threw the pictures in his face making them fall to the floor. Calvin looked at the pictures in disbelief. Calvin was contemplating what he was going to say.

" Baby, they photoshop that doesn't even look me," Calvin says.

Zathura let out a bitter laugh because it was funny that he thought she was slow. She shook her head at his gaslighting.

"Look, don't fucking play with me. They sent a damn video of you and some other girl," Zathura said.

Calvin tried to touch her, but she stepped back with a displeased expression.

"Don't you fucking touch me? You know, what the wedding is off. Go live happy with your new girl," Zathura said.

"Please don't do this to us. We can work through this little mistake together," Calvin pleaded.

"You need to be gone by the time I come home because I'm done with the bullshit," Zathura said.

Zathura sat at the bar and drowned down a shot of vodka. It burned her throat, but it ease the pain she felt in her chest. She felt so used and mistreated because most of their relationship, all he did was cheat and manipulate her.

Her biggest fear was that she was about to turn into something that she didn't want to be, but some men need to learn their lesson. If she could get every man in a room and do them wrong how they did women, she'll be a fucking genius. Zathura let out a bitter chuckle and thought she was going crazy. How could she be so blind to his bullshit?

6 months later

The past three months for Zathura have been hard. The only time she spoke with Calvin was when she told him she wanted to keep the house and the money saved up for their wedding. Of course, she threatened him because he committed adultery which is a good piece of evidence in court.

"So did you make a decision on who gets the house and the money from the savings account that were in both of your names," the judge said.

Calvin's lawyer stood to speak after whispering something to Calvin. "My client agreed to let Ms.Cooks keep the money and the house."

During the whole divorce trial, Zathura was in her thoughts. She was so angry with herself that she gave Calvin too many chances. She returned her attention to the judge when he dismissed them.

Zathura walked to her car. She was confused about what was next after being with someone she thought was her soulmate. She can slowly feel her heart becoming cold.

Zathura finally made it to her car. She saw Calvin leaning against it. She mentally couldn't stand being in the same space as him.

" I just wanted to apologize for the way things went between us. And it's my fault for messing up our relationship with my selfish ways. I hope you forgive me one day and find someone who can love you better than I could." Calvin said.

Zathura nodded while reaching into her pocket and giving him the engagement ring and the note he had given her when they were in high school. After everything he had done to her, she kept what he had written because she had faith that one day he would grow up. She got in her car without a word and drove home while tears dripped from her eyes.
