Harry was sleeping soundly when he felt Draco stir and growl. "What do you want, Weasley? The moon is rough on both of us."

Harry opened his eyes to see Ron's shocked face. His hands were up, like he expected Harry or Draco to rip his throat out for waking them up. "I told you that I'd be back. Things have happened. I... I can come back."

Harry wiped his eyes. "No... what things?"

Ron looked like he wanted to bolt. If Harry had to guess, he looked awkward at seeing them in bed together.

"Maybe... I'll just go," he rambled, backing out.

Draco sighed. "We didn't do anything. It's a wolf-thing, Weasley. We've slept in the same bed since the first week I came here. It makes me feel safe."

Harry went red. He had forgotten that most people don't sleep together like they do. He had grown so accustomed to it that it seemed so natural. They hadn't slept apart since that first night, even after Draco went to his room instead.

Ron's mind, however, seemed to be broken by this. "I... umm... well... I mean... it's fine... if... you know... you're okay... umm... with it. I...umm... I'll be downstairs!" Then he fled.

Draco looked up at him. "Is he alright?"

"I don't think we permanently broke him. You... you're still fine with this? With him knowing?"

"He's pack, Harry," Draco said, simply.

"Right... I guess... you can just declare him... pack and everything is... fine? I don't understand."

"I don't either, Harry. I've been a werewolf two months longer than you. My mind calls him that... and Granger... and Blaise a little."

Harry felt the urge to growl. Blaise was a rival.

"He's pack, Harry," Draco said, meeting his eyes.

Harry's aggression just went away. What the fuck? He met Draco's eyes, astonished.

"Hmm... it works from afar. Granger is pack, too. Come on. Sleep is overrated."

Draco got up and went to his wardrobe. He pulled out a new shirt and put it on, then he dropped his pants and changed right in front of Harry. He realized what was happening and tried to look away, but he still managed to get an eyeful of Draco's rear end. He blushed and started to change, too, keeping his eyes away from Draco.

"You smell guilty, Potter. Were you watching?" Draco taunted.

"I-sorry... I didn't mean to..." he murmured, looking to his own dresser.

In truth, he couldn't take his eyes off of Draco. He didn't want to. Was this what Draco struggled with after the first full moon?

He changed and turned to see that Draco was watching him and probably was the whole time. He didn't smell guilty, though, just... happy. He lowered his eyes, unable to handle what was happening. What was happening? They still hadn't talked about the mate thing. Why was everything so fucking complicated now?

Draco crinkled his nose at whatever scent he was admitting. "We'll talk... eventually. No need to worry, Harry."

Harry nodded and they went downstairs. Ron and Hermione were there. She smiled knowingly when they came in. If Harry had to guess, she smelled a bit smug.

Draco waved his hand. "Sorry... the change makes us tired. Harry probably needed sleep."

The indignation Harry felt overwhelmed him. "You're the one who's pregnant! You need to sleep too and take care of yourself!"

Draco gave him a raised eyebrow in amusement. Harry had definitely gotten more protective of him. The pregnancy hormones were getting him, too, alright.

Draco chuckled. "Right. You said that... things happened?"

Ron nodded. The air grew bitter. "No one got hurt... but the wards triggered at my parents' house. My mum and dad haven't dropped them yet. Ginny and Luna saw the wolves running around the ward lines. And the clinic... the one you took... Malfoy to... got ransacked by werewolves. Lucky it's in a rural area, probably for that reason."

Concern flooded Harry, but Draco went rigid and the sharp smell of fear wafted off him. He whispered, "They were looking for me... where they could smell me?"

"Good thing you haven't ventured out much... but I imagine it's only a matter of time before they come... umm... around here," Ron said.

Harry growled a werewolf snarl as anger filled him. "Those fucking bastards! I'm going to have to rip their throats out!"

Hermione's eyes widened. "Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves! Harry... it's a pack of werewolves! They're not alone. We have to think about how we want to handle this."

Draco, who had been so confident a few seconds ago, sat down, despondently. His mind seemingly trapped in the same terror-ridden mind loop like before the full moon. Harry whined at the agony his mate was going through.

"Relax, guys! Draco, this house is under a Fidelius Charm. They can't get you here," Hermione said, touching his arm.

Draco didn't flinch from her, like he had at the beginning. Pack means something to a werewolf. But he looked at her and whispered, "It doesn't matter. If they come during the full moon... they could hurt other people. And... and then the Ministry could force me to go back to them."

"THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN!" Harry roared, shaking with rage, meeting Draco's eyes. "Don't ever believe that I would hand you over! I'll go live on the run again before I ever let those bastards have you."

Draco regarded him. He didn't seem scared or upset by his anger, which Harry was starting to feel guilty about. His emotions, where Draco was concerned, were still over the top. The draw to protect and guard his mate was strong. He locked eyes with Draco, trying to mentally communicate that he was safe. Draco grimaced but didn't smell as sad as he had before. He seemed to find his words and actions... calming, if anything.

"Harry? Can you calm down?" Hermione asked, not reassured by his words.

"I am bloody calm!" he snapped, not really selling his case.

"No one here will let that happen, but we need to plan... to keep the muggles safe?" she pointed out.

Harry swallowed. "Oh."

Ron cleared his throat. "Right. Lucky for us, there were no attacks. I don't think we should use the same place as last time. Something on the mainland... maybe closer to London, to draw them away from the city?"

"Yes, that might work, but it needs to be rural enough not to draw attention," Hermione said.

"And we'll need to build better traps. We know they are coming to us... and we can capture them this time, instead of fending them off. Wizards and witches have gone on werewolf hunts for centuries when there's a rogue werewolf attacking the populace," Ron suggested.

"Capture?" Draco said.

"Well... I don't know what we'll do with them after, but we know their target... you. That's our advantage. We set the stage, lure them in and take them. Maybe... we can negotiate with the leader... I mean, after the full moon."

"You can't negotiate with them," Draco said. "They only respond to power and what the alpha wants. The alpha won't back down, because it's showing weakness."

Ron grimaced. "Can we... umm... break the alpha's power? Authority?"

"Yeah... kill him. I mean, another could take over if the alpha is injured... but I can't imagine the werewolves... in wolf form... would suffer contender for alpha in the pack. The beta maybe... but the alpha removes any threats to his command."

"It's like that in wolf packs. The young adult wolves might get forced out if they challenge the alpha."

"And werewolves are even more vicious. They... they f-fought over me... before they turned me. Greyback killed one and the others submitted, though a few tested him."

Ron's mouth dropped in horror at Draco's revelation. The implication that the werewolves had fought for... the right to bite him. Of course, Harry knew it wasn't just a bite. Fenrir mounted him as a wolf... in front of the other wolves. Showing his dominance over Draco and the pack. Draco was Fenrir's... to torture and impregnate.

Harry didn't realize he was growling until Hermione touched his arm. "Calm down. We'll figure it out... we always do," she urged.

"Well, I can challenge the alpha... kill him and take command of the pack."

"Harry! You're talking about killing someone! You didn't even kill V-Voldemort!" she said, disturbed by his desire to kill.

Harry wasn't perturbed by it. Killing things was a werewolf thing. Sometimes you have to kill your adversaries and rivals to your pack and mate. "If you can figure another way out of this situation, I will gladly consider it!"

Draco looked up, resigned, and whispered, "I won't go back. I already told Harry, but you might as well know, too. I won't let myself go back. I'll kill myself. I was already trying before you captured me. I can't... I won't live like that."

Hermione's scent changed to sadness and pain. She was getting attached to Draco. She reached and took his hand. "At least... give us time to rescue you, Draco. We will always come for you."

Draco nodded. "Pack."

Hermione smiled and nodded. "Now... we should... talk about what happened during the full moon."

Harry froze, guilt and embarrassment flooded through him. Draco gave him a smirk, though.

"I mean... you cast magic... in full werewolf form. Wolves under Wolfsbane can't use wandless magic... Remus was sure of it, and he said that when he wasn't taking it, he had no realization that magic existed. So...."

Draco's head lifted up. Anger spiked the air. "You told Lupin?"

Hermione leveled with him. "He's a friendly adult werewolf who's been living with this condition for decades, Draco. He kind of is a subject matter expert. Whatever reason you don't like him, we need his help. He told me what books to find for you and what to expect. Werewolves don't exactly document their weaknesses, struggles or what happens when they turn. They are private. I'm sure you noticed that most of the books are only observations of werewolves."

Draco grumbled under his breath, unhappy. Harry didn't like that. He had been avoiding Lupin, too. It wasn't entirely because Draco didn't like him. He felt guilty for what he had done... what he made Draco do without his permission.

"Can you... is there a reason why I can't talk to Remus? We've known him for a long time. He's the reason we found you, Draco."

Draco took a deep, exasperated breath and shook his head. "No. It's just. He... he's another wolf. I was scared of Harry... until we spent the moon together. Lupin... any wolf really... is... someone who can hurt me."

Harry wondered if Draco didn't like him, just like Harry hadn't liked Blaise. He wasn't pack.

"He wants to help."

Draco didn't answer, but his anger abated.

"What'd he say... about... me?" Harry asked. Remus was still a close friend, despite his reservations about Malfoy.

"He... well... you and he should talk. You warded the house and floo from him... why?" Hermione asked.

"I didn't want to hear how much of an idiot I was. I'm not sorry, though," Harry said, looking at Draco, his mate.

Draco actually blushed and looked disgruntled.

Hermione debated her words and said, "He did say that he wasn't surprised... since you took a werewolf in and...."

"Used the bondmark?" Harry finished. "Draco... I'm sorry if I...."

"Don't apologize, Potter. You became a bloody werewolf for me. Sometimes, I feel like I should be apologizing to you," he grunted and stood up, now smelling agitated.

Harry felt his own hackles rising at the tension. He looked around for the threat before he snapped back to his senses. Draco gave him a look, before turning to Hermione.

"Harry should talk to him, but we need to wait a few days. It's too close to the moon. If he's willing to attack Ron, I'd hate to see what he'd do to Lupin."

Hermione's eyes widened. "Wait? What? Ron?" she gasping, looking at him like Harry had bitten him.

"Don't worry. I stopped him," Draco said, and stopped at the doorway, leaned against the arch and rubbed his eyes. He evidently wasn't willing to deal with everything sitting down anymore.

"He attacked while he was human, though?" Hermione pressed.

He turned his head to snap, "For the last bloody time, the time around the moon really brings out the wolf. Ron moved toward me, and Harry has that natural drive to protect. So, I imagine that he wouldn't like Lupin here so close to me, not that I want to be in the same room."

"Oh..." she said, still looking at Ron.

"Still... I'm sorry," Harry said, feeling guilty that he had tried to attack his best mate.

"Guys, I'm fine! I was taking Draco away from Harry. It was just...."

"Too soon. Tell Lupin to come no earlier than three days. Everything should be more settled."

"I will... but Draco... you haven't really talked to Remus. Would you consider talking to him?"

"I did talk to him," he spat, angrily, turning away.

She grimaced. "Oh... I didn't...."

"He barged in here before I turned Harry and forced the conversation. I did not appreciate it," Draco said, still looking out into the den. Harry could smell that he was ashamed and sad.

"I didn't know. I'm sorry... but he does know what you're going through. If he came here with permission, it might be easier for you. We need to strategize, and if it does come to a fight... shouldn't another werewolf help your cause?"

Draco's scent spiked the air with aggression, and he turned and growled, "Granger... if Lupin comes near me or Harry near the moon, we will try to kill each other."

Her eyes widened and looked to Harry for an answer. "I think he's right. I know... I know I respect and trust Remus... but Draco... he's... he's my..." Harry didn't want to say mate in front of them, and technically, it wasn't just a mate thing. Draco's eyes darted to him, too. Consent mattered, so Harry finished, "... he's my packleader. He decides who's a friend or... an enemy."

Hermione seemed intrigued and pondered it, but Ron said, "Is that why he said I'm pack?"

"Yes," Harry said, still feeling guilty for that. "It was like a switch in my head. I honestly think that you guys could approach me when I'm a werewolf and I wouldn't attack you."

Hermione's eyes widened. "Wow... that's... really?"

"I mean, we shouldn't try it, but... I mean, Draco told me Blaise is pack earlier and I... like him now."

Draco snorted and smirked. "Like is a stretch. You perceived him as a threat and now he's not."

"And Remus is a threat to you, Draco?" Hermione pointed out.

Draco's lip curled, and he looked away, again. "He's not pack. He's another wolf, and I don't want to be near another wolf. I can't defend myself, Hermione... as a wolf... or as a wizard."

Harry stood up. "That's enough. Stop grilling him. If Draco doesn't want to see Remus, then he doesn't need to come here. I can go...."

"You are not going there alone, Potter!" Draco snarled, getting angry enough that the werewolf came out.

Harry's eyes went wide. A command was layered in there, and he now had no desire to go see Remus. "Draco?"

"Don't, Potter," he snapped.

Harry wondered what scent Draco was emitting. Jealously? Protectiveness? "I won't... not that I have a choice, now," he said, wryly. He wasn't mad, but Draco had laid down an edict that Harry couldn't break, easily anyway.

Draco's scent changed to shame and frustration, and he walked out the door and went upstairs. Harry heard the bathroom door slam shut.

"What was that all about?" Ron asked.

"It's complicated."

"I see that. Try to talk to him about it. We need help. It's us four against a whole pack, and Ron and I aren't werewolves."

"Tell Remus I'll send him an owl. Three days should be enough... and thanks you guys for standing guard. Tell Molly that I'm sorry if they were scared too... maybe we should stay home for a...."

"Dude, no. Mum wanted me to tell you that you and Draco had better visit this month. She will not let these werewolves prevent her from seeing one of her own," Ron said. "Luna, Ginny, and Dad feel the same way."

"Thanks. Let me and Draco work it out, okay?"

"We didn't really talk about... that you were in his cage, Harry."

"I didn't... force myself on him, if that's what you think. It was all relatively PG13' cept Draco was naked. Anything else is between me and him."

She stared like she wanted to press it, but Ron stated, "Mione... it's not your business."

She blinked. "Right... sorry. I-We love you, no matter what, Harry. You don't have to hide things from us... we won't judge you."

"I know. Thanks," Harry said, and they left out the floo, before Harry went up to the loo.

I'm kinda a jerk to Remus, but you know... plot.
