Harry was sleeping soundly when he felt Draco stir and growl. "What do you want, Weasley? The moon is rough on both of us."
Harry opened his eyes to see Ron's shocked face. His hands were up, like he expected Harry or Draco to rip his throat out for waking them up. "I told you that I'd be back. Things have happened. I... I can come back."
Harry wiped his eyes. "No... what things?"
Ron looked like he wanted to bolt. If Harry had to guess, he looked awkward at seeing them in bed together.
"Maybe... I'll just go," he rambled, backing out.
Draco sighed. "We didn't do anything. It's a wolf-thing, Weasley. We've slept in the same bed since the first week I came here. It makes me feel safe."
Harry went red. He had forgotten that most people don't sleep together like they do. He had grown so accustomed to it that it seemed so natural. They hadn't slept apart since that first night, even after Draco went to his room instead.
Ron's mind, however, seemed to be broken by this. "I... umm... well... I mean... it's fine... if... you know... you're okay... umm... with it. I...umm... I'll be downstairs!" Then he fled.
Draco looked up at him. "Is he alright?"
"I don't think we permanently broke him. You... you're still fine with this? With him knowing?"
"He's pack, Harry," Draco said, simply.
"Right... I guess... you can just declare him... pack and everything is... fine? I don't understand."
"I don't either, Harry. I've been a werewolf two months longer than you. My mind calls him that... and Granger... and Blaise a little."
Harry felt the urge to growl. Blaise was a rival.
"He's pack, Harry," Draco said, meeting his eyes.
Harry's aggression just went away. What the fuck? He met Draco's eyes, astonished.
"Hmm... it works from afar. Granger is pack, too. Come on. Sleep is overrated."
Draco got up and went to his wardrobe. He pulled out a new shirt and put it on, then he dropped his pants and changed right in front of Harry. He realized what was happening and tried to look away, but he still managed to get an eyeful of Draco's rear end. He blushed and started to change, too, keeping his eyes away from Draco.
"You smell guilty, Potter. Were you watching?" Draco taunted.
"I-sorry... I didn't mean to..." he murmured, looking to his own dresser.
In truth, he couldn't take his eyes off of Draco. He didn't want to. Was this what Draco struggled with after the first full moon?
He changed and turned to see that Draco was watching him and probably was the whole time. He didn't smell guilty, though, just... happy. He lowered his eyes, unable to handle what was happening. What was happening? They still hadn't talked about the mate thing. Why was everything so fucking complicated now?
Draco crinkled his nose at whatever scent he was admitting. "We'll talk... eventually. No need to worry, Harry."
Harry nodded and they went downstairs. Ron and Hermione were there. She smiled knowingly when they came in. If Harry had to guess, she smelled a bit smug.
Draco waved his hand. "Sorry... the change makes us tired. Harry probably needed sleep."
The indignation Harry felt overwhelmed him. "You're the one who's pregnant! You need to sleep too and take care of yourself!"
