Dog Days

"Potter! Potter!" Draco called. "Dog?"

He was starting to worry. He knew the bloody dog had gotten out of the yard before. "Lumos Maxima!" he called, and the whole yard lit up. He didn't see the dog anywhere.

"Shit! Bloody menace!" Draco growled.

He Apparated to the other side of the face. "Accio dog!" he said, forcibly.

He waited but no dog came. Maybe he needed to say the name? Or else Potter was too far away?

"Accio Potter!" he yelled, putting all his might into it.

He heard yelps as Potter the dog floated backward to Draco. Luckily, the branches and trees moved magically aside for him. Thankfully, he was alright. He directed Potter to the ground at his feet, but as soon as Draco released the spell, Potter took off, again.

"Incarcerous!" he growled.

The dog yelped as ropes entangled him. He tried to claw and chew his way out.

"Hey! Stop that!"

Potter did and huffed as he laid his head down in defeat. Draco sighed. He Summoned the leash and clipped it onto Potter's collar before releasing him.

"Bad dog! How the hell did you get out?" he asked. "Come on... bloody twat."

"Woof," the dog agreed.

Draco brought Potter in through the front door, and then he released him. The dog ran to the back door to be let out.

"No! I'm not letting you out!" he grumbled.

"Woof!"

"No! I'll have to chain you up when you go out, now," he said, and sat on the couch.

Potter laid down next to him. It was then that Draco realized he was dirty from his adventure and levitated him to the bathroom. Draco conjured warm water and dropped the dog in. Potter thrashed in the water, drenching Draco in the process.

"Bloody hell!" Draco huffed, though admitted to himself that he should have done that differently.

He Vanished the water from the floor and dried himself off, before washing Potter thoroughly. Potter seemed to enjoy it and tried to shake off the water wherever Draco let go.

"Next time... I'm just using Laveo!" he grumbled.

When Potter was clean, Draco Vanished the dirty water and dried both of them with his wand. Potter still jumped on him with his wet paws.

"You're a menace," Draco chided.

He also cleared the couch when he went back. He then decided to watch the telly for a while longer before going to sleep.

The next day went nearly the same. Draco put Potter on a leash before taking him outside. After breakfast, he magicked the dog into the cage, which Potter barked furiously about. He went to work and, after stopping to buy a long, plastic-coated cable chain to tie him up, he returned home. He anchored it to a tree in the middle of the yard and then went to get Potter out.

The cage was again upside down. Potter was sulking, lying down and not looking at him.

"Oh, don't be mad cause I won again. Come on out," he said, but Potter ignored him.

He walked away, letting Potter come out on his own. He put beef and veggies in his bowl at the laundry room doorway. He sat down to eat and saw that Potter came out to eat his food. Then his grumpy puppy sat by the back door and looked outside. Draco got up and clipped the new cable chain clip on Potter's collar before opening the door. Potter was not happy when the chain stopped him. He growled and pulled at the chain with all his strength.

Draco laughed and returned to his dinner, forgetting that his dog was an escape artist.

Oh no! Harry the rascal is gonna try to escape, again. Sorry had to write more chapters. If I hadn't mentioned it, I got a Kindle Scribe for writing and it converts my handwriting to text. So, I have to write and upload and fix the errors I get from my serial killer-like handwriting.
