Draco gave him a raised eyebrow in amusement. Harry had definitely gotten more protective of him. The pregnancy hormones were getting him, too, alright.
Draco chuckled. "Right. You said that... things happened?"
Ron nodded. The air grew bitter. "No one got hurt... but the wards triggered at my parents' house. My mum and dad haven't dropped them yet. Ginny and Luna saw the wolves running around the ward lines. And the clinic... the one you took... Malfoy to... got ransacked by werewolves. Lucky it's in a rural area, probably for that reason."
Concern flooded Harry, but Draco went rigid and the sharp smell of fear wafted off him. He whispered, "They were looking for me... where they could smell me?"
"Good thing you haven't ventured out much... but I imagine it's only a matter of time before they come... umm... around here," Ron said.
Harry growled a werewolf snarl as anger filled him. "Those fucking bastards! I'm going to have to rip their throats out!"
Hermione's eyes widened. "Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves! Harry... it's a pack of werewolves! They're not alone. We have to think about how we want to handle this."
Draco, who had been so confident a few seconds ago, sat down, despondently. His mind seemingly trapped in the same terror-ridden mind loop like before the full moon. Harry whined at the agony his mate was going through.
"Relax, guys! Draco, this house is under a Fidelius Charm. They can't get you here," Hermione said, touching his arm.
Draco didn't flinch from her, like he had at the beginning. Pack means something to a werewolf. But he looked at her and whispered, "It doesn't matter. If they come during the full moon... they could hurt other people. And... and then the Ministry could force me to go back to them."
"THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN!" Harry roared, shaking with rage, meeting Draco's eyes. "Don't ever believe that I would hand you over! I'll go live on the run again before I ever let those bastards have you."
Draco regarded him. He didn't seem scared or upset by his anger, which Harry was starting to feel guilty about. His emotions, where Draco was concerned, were still over the top. The draw to protect and guard his mate was strong. He locked eyes with Draco, trying to mentally communicate that he was safe. Draco grimaced but didn't smell as sad as he had before. He seemed to find his words and actions... calming, if anything.
"Harry? Can you calm down?" Hermione asked, not reassured by his words.
"I am bloody calm!" he snapped, not really selling his case.
"No one here will let that happen, but we need to plan... to keep the muggles safe?" she pointed out.
Harry swallowed. "Oh."
Ron cleared his throat. "Right. Lucky for us, there were no attacks. I don't think we should use the same place as last time. Something on the mainland... maybe closer to London, to draw them away from the city?"
"Yes, that might work, but it needs to be rural enough not to draw attention," Hermione said.
"And we'll need to build better traps. We know they are coming to us... and we can capture them this time, instead of fending them off. Wizards and witches have gone on werewolf hunts for centuries when there's a rogue werewolf attacking the populace," Ron suggested.
"Capture?" Draco said.
"Well... I don't know what we'll do with them after, but we know their target... you. That's our advantage. We set the stage, lure them in and take them. Maybe... we can negotiate with the leader... I mean, after the full moon."
