Somewhere between right and wrong there is a garden. I'll meet you there...

Rumi was done with her mehendi  and came back to her room after dinner. The mehendi was almost dried, she looked at it and contemplated her decision of marrying Jaiveer, whether it was right or wrong. To be honest , it was not what she wanted , she was doing this just for her dadi. Her parents passed away in an accident when she was in the second year of her college, her uncle aunt took her in as a charity case. They did what they could but after she turned 18 she moved out once and for all . Her parents had left her enough to sustain well.

She was already into a prestigious engineering college and after completing her graduation, in her placement only she had secured a high paying job in an international company. Her life was all set, it was going smoothly. She felt alone sometimes, missed having her parents around but she has gradually started accepting it.

She was 26, settled in her job and she was good at it, both she and her dadi lived together in their apartment in Bengaluru. Everything was smooth until her dadi thought that it wasn’t.  Earlier she used to ask whether she has a boyfriend or not. But When Rumi denied, she took the matter in her own hands. And now she was here, done writing her to be husband’s name in her hands. To be honest she was not averted by the thought of marriage, she wanted it. She wanted a family of her own, a loving and caring husband. But now seeing his behaviour she was in doubt whether she was doing it right or wrong.

When she first met him, she found him undeniably handsome and attractive,  that played a major role in saying yes. But his aloof nature was what stuck in her. she shrugged it off thinking that it was his nature given that he grew up in a dysfunctional family. But now today from the morning she hadn’t seen him once. It was their mehendi but it seemed like she was the only one getting married. At the evening even his sister Isha gave her sympathetic look. She atleast expected him to come down but he didn’t come down even once.
She was deep in her thoughts when her daadi came inside.

“ Rumi beta? Soyi nahi abtak ?” She asked patting her head.

“ No dadi..Didn’t feeling sleepy!!” she replied while keeping her head in her lap.

“So jaao beta.. Tomorrow is your big day.. you need rest..” she replied still patting her head.

“ Dadi , am I doing it right ? By marrying him ??” Rumi whispered with uncertainty lacing her voice.

“ Yes beta!! Don’t worry … you both are new to each other.. It takes time and effort to build a relationship…” she whispered.

“ But.. efforts should be from both side right dadi ?” Rumi whispered. “ He didn’t even came to meet me today. It was our mehendi..!” she said while a lone tear fell down from her eyes .

Her daadi wiped the tear and said, “ you both were tied in a hasty situation beta… Jaiveer’s daadu is unwell.. so they wanted you both to get married as soon as possible .. Just give yourself and him some time and everything will be fine.. Okay… now sleep beta…!”

Rumi nodded and after few small talks she retreated to her bed. She was anxious, uncertain, and fearful about her future. Soon all the tiredness settled down and sleep engulfed her. But she didn’t knew that it was the calm before the storm.
