I just-I care about you. I care more than you seem to understand-" "Why?" Kim blinked, stunned. "What?" "Why do you care, Kim?" Kenta demanded, turning on him fully now. His jaw was locked. His posture defensive. "You say I matter, but I don't understand why. You're not my mate. You're not my Alpha. You're not bound to me. So why the hell are you acting like you owe me anything?"

"You're wearing my shirt," Kim whispered, his lips brushing close to Kenta's ear. "Don't you like it... wearing something that smells like me?" Kenta sucked in a breath, his body going stiff again. Just Another Day In Life Of Kimkenta ~~~ Kim placed a few dishes on the table and sat down opposite him, eating like it was any other normal breakfast. Kenta blinked. What the hell? Why Isn't Kim Feeding him? He shifted again, subtly pushing his bowl a little closer to Kim's side of the table. Just enough. Waiting. Still nothing.Kim didn't even look at him.Kenta's lips curved into a barely-there frown. What was going on? He cleared his throat. Kim ignored it. Kenta leaned his elbow on the table and stared at him. Gaze steady. Annoyed. Still no reaction. Kim continued eating. Casual. Almost smug. Kenta's jaw tightened. Fine. He wasn't going to beg. Not a chance. Kim finally glanced at him, face the picture of calm. "Something wrong?" Kenta glared. "No." "Okay," Kim said, reaching for another piece of lettuce.

"You're being an asshole," Kenta snapped, though his voice cracked at the end. "You know I didn't mean it! I was tired and upset and I lashed out. Why can't you just-talk to me?" Kim stopped at the doorway. Turned slightly-just enough for Kenta to see the side of his face. "You're right," Kim said quietly. "You were tired. Upset. Scared. But that doesn't give you the right to push people away." His voice was gentle-but sharp. It wasn't loud. But it cut deeper than any shout. Kenta stood frozen.
