James Barnes was sixteen years old when his baby sister came into the world, pink and wrinkly and screaming her little head off. And James? James was unimpressed. She was tiny-too tiny. Her hands were no bigger than his thumb, her head barely covered in a fuzz of dark hair. She cried constantly, made Ma exhausted, and stole all the attention in the apartment. And worse? She was completely useless. Couldn't walk, couldn't talk, couldn't even hold her own head up or go get groceries. He had brothers. Brothers he could roughhouse with and throw punches at. This? This little thing wasn't a sibling-she was a baby. And yet, despite all his grumbling, he still found himself staring at her when nobody was looking.

Natasha Romanoff is a monster. She doesn't love, she doesn't care. She doesn't let herself feel anything. She simply avoids mirrors like the plague to avoid seeing a plain reflection of the awfulness of her past. Because that's who she's become. Redemption is just a cover. All she can do is manipulate her own feelings to feel like, maybe, she might belong here in S.H.I.E.L.D.. And as she struggles to make sense of her own twisted life and actions, Natasha would be damned to meet someone whose entire being reflects her own. Except that someone is a seven year old girl, and she's so much worse than anything she could have imagined.

Perfection is everything Yekaterina Romanoff is. She's perfect in every way that a person can be from everything down to the way she walked and braided her hair each morning, to the genetic markup of the cells inside her and the blood flowing through her veins. She was made with a specific reason, to be the best, and she was made by using the best both the Red Room and HYDRA had. She was the best, she was perfect in everything she did. That was until she was forced to work with The Winter Solider, the man who helped fuel her creation by giving her half of his DNA, to kill Captain America only for the plan to crumble when he remembers who he is. Leaving Katya with an unfinished mission, and on the run with her father.

It truly did take a village. The proverb became obvious all at once for Fredrick R. Cruz. When he is promoted to Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of State, Fredrick is left with the challenge of raising a troublesome pre-teen who has the tendency to meddle. In his hurricane of a life, the one thing he never expected was finding solace in the captain of his country. Steve Rogers moving into the apartment across the hall was a blessing in disguise, and Fredrick could finally feel the heavy weight of undeserved responsibility ease from his shoulders. But when his daughter, Theo, gets too tangled up in the business of 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes', it may just be enough for that vein in his forehead to finally burst. ❀ [Marvel Cinematic Universe] [Fem!OC] Started: 05.09.24 Finished: - - i do not own anything to do with the MCU, it's characters or it's plot lines. i only own my ocs and their plots. :)

Born into HYDRA, Warren Barnes, the son of the Winter Soldier, has been treated like nothing more than an animal his entire life. A lab rat. An emotionless, thoughtless thing useful only for one thing: killing. When Warren is only three, through trial and error, HYDRA scientists manage to give him the ability to turn himself invisible. After that, he is just another child assassin. An assistant to the Winter Soldier. What HYDRA didn't take into account, though, is that little boys who can turn invisible have quite the knack for disappearing without a trace. Several months later, after being picked up by SHIELD, Warren now has to learn how to be a Boy, despite never having been treated as anything more than Animal. It's an especially hard thing to do when the biggest reminder of all has come crashing back into Warren's life. • This book has mature themes, like anything else you might see in a typical Marvel movie.
