CHAPTER TWENTY.
𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦♡

Madison's small fingers delicately
rang the bell of Trent's house. While
waiting for him to open it, memories
flooded her mind.

She stood there, reminiscing about
their pasta date and the night they
almost kissed. Oh, how many times
she had kissed his lips after that
incident. And she would do it again
-in a heartbeat.

The door opened and a half-smiling
Trent appeared. It seemed like he was
forcing himself to smile. "Hey, come on in" he ushered her inside, closing
the door behind them.

"Sit" he motioned, pointing to the
grey couch.

She took a seat, patting the space next
to her for him to sit. Instead he kept
a comfortable distance, still being
close to her but not as much as she'd
want him to.

"So. You wanted to talk?" he began.

"Yes. And I don't want you to
interrupt me. Just listen to what I have to say. Please" she begged.

Trent just nodded his head, turning to face her, his eyes searching for hers as she hung her head low, trying to get
her mind in place and start.

"I came in the UK to be the opening act of the biggest girl-group in the world, not expecting to fall in love.
Those two months were the happiest of my life. Your love was the strongest thing I've ever felt. Your touch made me feel like all the love I've felt before was nothing compared to that. That night at my place is still my favourite night to date, second come the BRITS. But after the event everything crumbled into pieces that we both couldn't put together. We knew that
the distance was too much and we still said 'fuck it' and did it anyway.
Leaving the country was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
Every night after our bickering was hard. I wanted to text you so many times that I will just abandon everything and move in with you. But instead I just kept myself busy in the
studio, creating more songs about you. My heart almost couldn't handle the joy when you texted me about David. Knowing that our feelings are still here hurt. Still does. And Alex finally opened my eyes. I want you Trent, and I need you. I stopped sending paragraphs, stopped begging, I stopped telling people how to treat me and started walking away blocking and distancing myself life. It may be lonely but it's becoming peaceful sometimes being alone in life is better than being surrounded by half ass people. Then I met all of you guys and my life finally had a meaning. So if you'll have me, I want to.. I don't know. Maybe be a part of your life again?"

Madison left a long breath, blinking away a few tears and turning to look at her favourite human being, his glossy eyes looking back at her.

"They say if a crush lasts more than 2 months you're in love. So what happens when I've been infatuated with you for 6 months? Have I fallen in love with you three times or have I wasted half a year, craving you?" he started.

"You were my football crush for way before the LM5 tour" Madison observed making both of them giggle a little before returning back to their conversation.

"To love someone long-term is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be, the people that are too exhausted to be any longer, the people that don't recognize inside themselves anymore,the people that grew out of, the people they never ended up growing into. We, so badly, want the people we love to get their spark back when it burns out to become speedily found when they are lost, but it's not our job to hold anyone accountable to the people that used to be. It is our job to travel with them between its version, and to honor what emerges along the way. Sometimes it will be an even more luminescent flame. Sometimes it will be a flicker that disappears in temporarily floods the room with a perfect and necessary darkness.
I haven't seen you at your lowest
but I've felt it. When I hugged you, that one last time before we left the event, I felt your sadness. Still did through those messages. And I feel the same. I am lost without you. And I... would take you back in a heartbeat."

Her smile grew ten times more, jumping into his arms, her lips capturing his and their hands entagled in a beautiful mess they'd have to deal with in the morning.

Waking up next to him was probably her favourite thing ever. Her naked body against his shuffled a little closer, his arm circling more around her waist, pulling her closer.

"Good morning pretty girl" he muffled in her hair, his husky voice sending shivers down her spine.

"Good morning to you too" Madison smiled.

A few minutes after, Madison broke the comfortable silence.

"So. Would you mind help me go house-hunting?"

"In LA? Sure, in the summer break"

"Oh no, I meant in Liverpool. You obviously know the best areas, I'd prefer it to be close to you though, and oh! I'll need you to teach me the scouse language. Sounds a bit hard innit." His mouth hung open and he swears his heart stopped for a second.

"So when you called Liverpool your home in that Instagram post you meant it?"

She giggled, nodding her head yes.

"So? Will you?"

"Yes ! Oh my God fuck yes ! But... are you really going to leave everything behind and move just for me? What about your music?"

"If something doesn't go right then I'll prefer to curse myself for moving in this country than not doing it and wondering what if. And as you probably know, if you paid attention to my mumblings at 3am I am an independent artist. When I was working with the girls I got offered a contract with their label. It still stands"

Trent stood dumb-founded. Staring at the girl of his dreams he leaned in capturing her perfect lips in his, feeling content in her embrace.

"So that means that you will be a regular at my games" he smirked.

"Oh for sure. You are the better baller anyways."
