The first thing in the morning Aadhya thought to do was to visit her family and so she went to the graveyard.
She frowned looking at the fresh flowers on the graves as to who kept them when she didn't visit them since 3 months. Her frown deepened when she saw lillies on her mother's grave.
She shrugged her thoughts away and talked to them for sometime. She went back to her house to see Aman still asleep and she started preparing breakfast.
After Aman woke up, she made him fresh and fed him breakfast. Then they just sat and watched t.v. Aadhya didn't realise that they slept until it was evening.
She prepared dinner as they skipped lunch and started arranging all their clothes in the wardrobes. While she was arranging, her gaze fell on the corner shelf where a box is there which consists full of past memories.
She swallowed and quickly shut the door. She doesn't have the courage to open it yet.
Aman wanted to go to the park and Aadhya obliged.
She sat there watching him playing on the slides and thought that Aman has gained a little height and weight. She smiled at the thought that how her brother would have felt happy and would have boosted about his genes if he was alive.
She sighed sadly.
She doesn't know what to do with her life anymore.
All her loved ones were dead.
The one whom she loves is engaged to someone else.
The one whom she loves and respects as her father has suffered a stroke.
Though he is alright now, there is an unknown fear ignited inside her now.
She wouldn't lie, she has been shaken from inside hearing about this news on some channel and immediately booked a flight to come back.
And these all instances somewhere made her think herself as a bad omen and unlucky as all her loved ones are going away from her.
The only good thing that left in her life is Aman and she can't even imagine her life without him.
She can only wish that she wouldn't become that bad omen in his life and if even she is then she would sacrifice her life to save him but she wouldn't let anything bad happen to Aman.
She would protect him with her life.
In all these thoughts, she didn't observe that someone has took a seat beside her and when she saw, she gasped loudly.
She looked at Rishabh wide eyed and Rishabh was looking at her in concern.
" Aadhya are you okay?" He asked.
" Yes. Why are you asking like that?" She asked frowning.
" You looked like you were in pain." He said.
" I am." She whispered and looked away.
Rishabh's heart clenched and stayed silent.
" I am Sorry." She heard and looked at him.
" Why?" She asked.
" For everything." He said looking at her.
" It's not your mistake for what had happened." She said looking down.
" No, it is. Knowingly and unknowingly I have hurted you a lot." He said and tears formed in her eyes but she controlled herself.
" I should have listened to you instead of running away. I should have been there for you instead of pushing you away." He said looking down.
She stayed silent.
He was about to say something but they heard an yelp and looked for Aman to see him on the ground. Both of them rushed to him and made him get up.
Aadhya looked for injuries while Rishabh looked at the ground to see how he fell.
" Aman are you okay?" Aadhya asked.
" Yes mumma....I didn't get hurt." Aman said smiling which made them sigh in relief.
" Come let's go home." Aadhya said taking his hand.
Aman immediately clutched Rishabh's hand and tugged him.
" Buddy come, let's go home!" Aman said.
The word Home filled warmth inside him.
Rishabh looked at Aadhya who didn't even glanced at him.
" Hey Champ! I have to go somewhere.....I have some work." Rishabh said ruffling his hair making Aman pout.
" I will come and see you again." Rishabh said smiling and Aman waved his hand in bye.
They both went away while Rishabh just sat there on the bench alone.
He wanted to go with them but he didn't want to be clingy and he didn't want her to oblige only because Aman wants him to come.
*
It has been a week since Aadhya has come back.
She didn't even come to the office once also.
Rishabh waited daily for her to show up but she didn't. He came to know that office staff are terrified at the fact that Aadhya is their boss maybe because how they treated her or how they have done things before her. Anjali was too shocked to do anything when she came to know that it was her boss that had helped for her father's surgery.
Board of directors and investors expected Aadhya's presence in the meetings but she didn't come.
Rishabh was disheartened as he knows it's because of him, she is not coming to the office.
From his father, he came to know that she has come to the hospital to visit him a few times and when his father asked her about the office then she said that she doesn't need to go the office.
And on the other side, Aadhya wholly concentrated only on Aman.
His summer break is almost finished and his school will start soon and she is in a dilemma whether they should go back to London and start his schooling there or she should stay back here only.
She knows if she stays here then Rishabh would surely leave the company and the most difficult part is she wouldn't be able to bear to see him with someone else by staying here.
She doesn't know what to do and so she thought it's better if she talked to school here as a backup plan if they aren't able to leave as already Shiv Malhotra told her that he will not allow her to leave again but again he cannot stop her also.
It's her wish whether to stay or leave.
She went to school for his results of his previous grade and also to talk to the teachers about his books and other stuff for the next coming year.
Next day she went to the hospital after Shanthi came in the evening to take care of Aman and walked towards Mr. Malhotra's room. The room door was open and she heard whispers from the room.
She stayed at the door itself not wanting to intrude.
" Nothing is more important to me than Aadhya and Aman dad." She heard and froze in her place.
" Then why don't you tell her the truth?" His father asked.
" Would she listen?" She heard Rishabh.
" Why won't she?"
" I didn't listened to her." Rishabh whispered and tears formed in her eyes at his broken tone.
" Try beta, she would hear you." His father said.
After that she didn't listen anything as she walked away and sat in the lobby.
About what truth are they talking about?
Why did he say that we are important to him?
How can he say that when he is engaged to someone else?
If he had to say something to her, would she listen to him?
She questioned herself and frowned.
" Aadhya?" She heard and looked up to see Rishabh standing in front of him.
" I came to meet Uncle." She said blankly.
" You should have come inside." He said.
" I didn't want to disturb you both." She said and walked inside the room.
She talked to his father for sometime and told him about what all they had done during their abroad trip when he asked about her disappearance.
" Don't disappear like that again. This heart can't bear it." He said sadly.
" Uncle please don't say like that. You are fine now and nothing will happen to you." She said and he smiled.
" By the way, I knew that you were keeping tabs on us." She said smirking making him chuckle.
" If I didn't do that then I would have gone mad thinking about your wherabouts." He said and her face softened.
" We needed to sort out lives Uncle and we needed that break.....Sorry.....I worried you." She said looking down.
" It's alright but please inform me and go before leaving like that." He said and she nodded.
She bid her bye and walked towards the exit telling him to take care of himself.
" I was not the only one who was worried about you Aadhya." She stopped at the door when she heard it.
" I know Uncle.....I know." She said and walked outside.
She saw Rishabh sat there sleeping on those lobby chairs in an uncomfortable position and stepped slowly towards him.
She kneeled down and looked at him closely. His face looks so tired and his dark circles reveal that he hadn't slept properly for days. She caressed his hair softly and observed him.
He stirred in his sleep and she immediately stood up. She sat beside him like nothing happened and when he woke up, he looked startled.
He looked around and relaxed but when he looked at her, his eyes widened.
" Sorry, I slept." He said.
" Go home and sleep." She said and stood up.
" I just came to meet dad. I need to go to office now." He said standing up.
" You look tired, you need sleep and you are going home.....that's it." She said walking away from him who stood stunned.
He ran after her who was going towards her car and stopped her.
" Okay, I will go home but...." He trailed off.
" But what?" She asked him blankly.
" But only if you talk to me." He said.
" I am talking to you now. Ain't I?" She asked frowning.
" Not like this.......somewhere alone." He said and she looked at him puzzled.
" Okay." She said and he smiled at her.
She blinked her eyes mesmerized by his smile.
" Where?" She asked turning away.
" My penthouse?" He asked and she nodded.
Both of them went in their cars to his house and all the while Aadhya was confused if she was doing the right thing.
It's not good to be alone with the man who is engaged.
But again she thought she would listen to what he has to say and leave immediately.
They both went inside his house and Aadhya stood in the living room while he went inside to get some water for them.
He saw her still standing looking down when he came back with some water and juice.
" Here." He gave her water.
She drank it and asked him what he wanted to talk.
" Can you please sit first?" He said but she didn't sit.
He closed his eyes and sighed loudly.
He grabbed her shoulders slowly and made her sit on the couch. He kneeled down before her and looked at her.
" What are you doing?" She asked him.
" Aadhya, just listen what I had to say and afterwards it's your wish." He said holding her hands.
She looked at their hands and gulped.
She pulled away her hands from his grip but didn't move from her place. Rishabh sighed and thought of how to start the conversation.
" Aadhya look, things didn't go well between us last time but I want to make it up to you now." He said and she looked at him blankly.
" That day when I came to your house, I wanted to tell you an important thing but when I came there I heard your conversation with dad which shocked me too much. I felt betrayed, the two most important people of my life hid such a big truth from me." He paused and looked at her who looked down blinking back her tears.
" More than that I felt hurt. It hurted a lot knowing that you didn't trust me enough to tell me the truth. It felt like I really didn't deserve to know who you were actually." He said with so much pain in his voice that it hurted her even more.
She didn't look up at him and stayed silent.
" I was angry at myself that I wasn't able to earn your trust. I was angry at myself that how stupid I was that I couldn't figure out who you were. I was angry at myself that how stupidly I behaved sometimes infront of you not knowing who you were." He said.
" I say things which I don't mean in anger and I didn't want to hurt you in that anger. That's why I gave time to myself and you so that no one gets hurt. But I was wrong. I should have talked to you and should have let you explain. I should have been there for you on that important day and I should stopped you that day when you were leaving." He said and tears fell from his eyes on her hands.
That time she glanced at him to see his teary eyes and that ripped her heart.
" I didn't mean anything to happen the way it all happened. I am sorry.....I have hurted you a lot and I broke my promise of being with you all the time. I am so sorry." He said looking at her and he didn't care that she is seeing him cry.
" You were and you are an important part of my life and you will be important to me forever including Aman.....nothing matters to me more than you both." He cried.
At that moment the only thing that mattered to him was that she was looking at him with the same emotion she used to look at him whenever she was with him.
