Fuck. He sighed and walked into the reception area. There was no one at the desk. She is going to be pissed. She already hated him coming in so late to begin with. He pressed the button on the bell.
"What?!"
"It's D-Drake." Potter seemed intrigued by name. Draco was too recognizable. It was too unique.
"What the bloody fuck! It's past four, you fucking sod!" called the middle-aged muggle as she came out.
"Sorry, I got held up."
"Likely fucking 온라인카지노게임. What? Bringing someone with you? That'll be extra, slag."
Potter's stiffened next to him, but Draco didn't dare look at him. "He's not staying. He just wanted to make sure I could stay before he leaves," he said in a rush.
She coughed as she puffed on her menthol cig. "Aww... your boyfriend walked you home. Sodding poofs."
Draco blushed. Though he knew he liked guys, he never admitted that to anyone, much less Potter. "That's not... can I stay?"
"Sure. Why not? Fifteen. You want a shower?"
Draco felt uncomfortable after being attacked. A shower, even a cold one, would feel welcome. "Yeah." He could almost feel the confusion in the man next to him.
"Seventeen."
"Wait...."
"It's fine, Potter," he said and went to hand her over half the money he had to her. But his hands were still shaking, from the attack and the embarrassment.
The landlord hissed, "You're hopped up, aren't you? You're slinging drugs? That's why he's here! No, no! You ain't pushing here. I told you, no drugs, Drake. Drugies don't like paying and create headaches. Out!"
"It's not..." Draco started.
"Out! Now!"
"It's not drugs. He was mugged and that's why he's shaking. I'm just here to make sure he gets home safe!"
Her eyes narrowed. "You brought a bobby here? He stands like one! Out! Get out!" And she pushed the button. Two burly bouncers came out. Potter had a wand, but that would lead to a bigger headache.
Draco sighed and pulled Potter out the door, back out onto the sidewalk. "It's fine. She kicks me out once a week. There's another place a few more blocks." He started to walk.
Potter came up next to him and stared as he walked. "You don't have a home."
Draco stopped, sighed and looked up at the sky. "I don't have anything, Potter. This is all I have—this bag and what I'm wearing. I live day-to-day. I got paid, I can sleep inside tonight."
Harry wasn't happy. "Did she charge more just to use a shower?"
He nodded. "One for the cold water and one for a towel."
"How... never mind... what about the next place?"
"Less grumpy, more expensive, but they have mattresses," he said, and mentally said, more willing to force you onto your knees to pay up. But Potter grabbed his arm.
"The other place didn't?"
"They usually fill up, quick. It's just a sleeping bag."
"Just a sleeping bag?" he repeated.
"Yeah," Draco said and could tell Potter wasn't liking this at all. "It's fine, Potter. It's better than on the streets." He definitely hated that, especially in wintertime. He had to give a lot of blow jobs during those months to stay inside.
Potter cleared his throat. "Umm... Draco... why don't you come home with me?"
He stopped to look at him, amazed. "What?"
"I have plenty of room. It's just me, Kreacher and the two Krups," Potter said, like that was the only thing that mattered.
"You hate me. We hate each other."
"That's a bit of a stretch. We were just kids. I don't hate you, and you don't seem to be spitting insults at me anymore, so I don't think that you hate me."
"You're also an armed Auror, and I couldn't defend myself if I tried, Potter," Draco grunted and looked at the ground.
"This that how you really feel?" Potter said, quietly. "You haven't been even mean."
Mean gets you beat up, mugged or worse. Draco learned that quick on the streets. "I don't have money for rent."
"I don't have rent, either. It's unplottable. It'll be totally free. You don't have to pay for anything."
Draco didn't want to trust it. Going into people's homes was dangerous. Even the crackheads warned him about that. Don't go unless you plan on going all the way, laddie, they told him. "W-What do you w-want? I'm not really a... rent boy."
Potter took a deep exaggerated breath. "Nothing! I want nothing from you. I'd never ask you to do anything... like that. I just want you to have a safe place to sleep."
"Potter, I appreciate your charity, but I've been doing this for over a year."
"You do not have to do it anymore. Please, Draco."
"Why? Why are you doing this?"
Potter thought on it. "Cause we're friends, now. I help my friends."
Friends? "Potter, you saved me. That doesn't mean we're friends. I'm in your debt, again, and you want me to be even more?"
"You'll survive. Come on. I got comfortable beds, food, and a warm shower. It's free."
Food did sound good. The half-a-sandwich and cold fries he had stolen tonight off people's plates, hadn't really filled him. He bit his lip and considered his options. The only risks were being more in Potter's debt and that Potter could chain him down and make him his sex slave. He honestly wasn't too opposed to that. Potter would at least feed him. Draco then considered that maybe he could help him appeal the seizure of his accounts, too. He looked at Potter, still hesitant to make the leap.
"You won't regret it, Draco. Just trust me. I will help you."
Draco frowned and looked away. Trust was so hard to give. He had been used and abused too many times. But this was Potter. The hero. He wouldn't do anything like that. Draco hesitantly nodded.
Potter smiled and led him to a nearby alley. "Don't worry, Malfoy. I promise I'll take care of you." He gripped his hand and Apparated him away.
Should I continue with this one?
