Harry stood back up and faced them. "She was threatening to send him back to Azkaban. She used the Veritaserum on him, physically and magically forcing him to take it. She used Imperius, too."
                              
Draco shuddered and looked away. Blaise's free hand was clenched so hard that his knuckles were nearly white.
                              
Hermione gasped. "Merlin! How could she be a... Hopkirk?"
                              
"Yes. Umbridge divulged to me that Hopkirk appointed her the night that Draco's appeal was granted. She was charged with the primary purpose of making Draco's life miserable and make him want to...."
                              
"Kill myself," Draco finished.
                              
Blaise's eyes went wide and it was obvious that Draco did not discuss what happened at all. The others offered more cries of astonishment.
                              
"Why?" Hermione asked, apparently the only one who was brave enough to ask.
                              
"To make sure that Draco doesn't get his memories back and implicate them. Kinda a big career-killer if it comes out that they were Death Eaters."
                              
"Fucking hell," Theo muttered and leaned down, his elbows on his knees. "Can this shit get any worse? What else happened?" Daphne rubbed his back.
                              
Harry frowned and said, "They're trying to overthrow the Ministry and maneuvering to take power. Umbridge said they're in league with the Lestranges and Scabior and his werewolves and they erased the memories of any person that was arrested and convicted for war crimes."
                              
Hermione's eyes went wide. "It wasn't just Draco?"
                              
"No... hell... they even used Imperio and Confundo on some of them. Draco's father testified against him for that reason. They made sure Draco stayed quiet."
                              
"This is serious... people were wrongly convicted," Hermione said, her hand covering her mouth.
                              
"Oh, I think they all deserved prison time..." Blaise huffed.
                              
"Maybe... maybe not. At least, Draco didn't deserve it... how many others, Blaise? They could have been forced to things. She said that there was one... Pius Thicknesse... who was under the Imperius Curse for the whole war."
                              
"What? Voldemort's puppet minister was forced to do it?" Hermione said, shocked.
                              
Everyone seemed surprised at this. Until today, he had also thought that Thicknesse was one of them. "Yaxley was controlling him."
                              
"Merlin... what happened to him?" Hermione asked.
                              
"Kingsley quietly pardoned him, I guess. Got some evidence from Snape? Umbridge said that Thicknesse escaped before Hopkirk and her horde could get him."
                              
"Harry... why would Umbridge tell you all this?" Hermione said, scrutinizing him.
                              
Harry smirked. "I convinced her with my willing personality."
                              
Her eyes narrowed. "What did you do?"
                              
"Nothing much. She just had an urge to confess."
                              
"The Veritaserum? That can come back against you, Harry! What if she tells them?"
                              
"I don't really have to worry about that... I Obliviated her," he announced and everyone seemed a little shocked. Well... everyone besides Luna.
                              
"Harry!" Hermione snapped.
                              
"Hey... I didn't kill her."
                              
"Harry!"
                              
"She hurt Draco... I really wanted to."
                              
"Don't. She's not worth it," Draco whispered.
                              
"You are worth it. I don't regret a second of it. We needed that confirmation. You needed to hear it, to understand why they been targeting you," he said and knelt down, again. "Draco... you knew that she was erasing your memories... why didn't you say...."
