We headed out with a lot less people running because this leg of the journey was a zig zag and scale up a ski hill. I would pick a point to aim for and just give that climb hell until I reached it. I would stop, get my breath and do that again until I was at the very top. Juli wasn’t as fast and kept trying to wave me to go on, but I waited for her. I wasn’t rushing her and I wasn’t leaving her behind. Our reward for making it to the top? Obstacle # 13 Funky Monkey : Bars are spaced 1.5 feet apart and you will be on an incline upward for the first half of the Monkey and then descending downward for the second portion. Some have been greased with our finest mixture of mud and butter and if you slip you’ll fall into an icy pond below. I made it to bar two before my grip found one of those aforementioned greased bars and suddenly I was in the water! I definitely need to work on my upper body strength and grip for next year!
