I participated in Tough Mudder Toronto August 18th 2012. I was in the 8:15 am run. This is a brief review of what I experienced.

Obstacle # 6

We made it up the mud cliff to run a little farther and reached obstacle # 6 Mud Mile:  Slosh through up to a mile of waist-deep sludge as you try not to lose your shoes in the mud. Mudders will encounter obstructions throughout Mud Mile that require them to fully submerge in the mud to slosh onward. The description was vastly different than the obstacle I actually faced. My mud mile was a series of ditches and hillocks to cross over. Many were jumping from one hillock to the other, but I am as graceful as a platypus, so I dropped into the muddy ditches and scrambled up the hillocks with a surprising amount of speed. I was going faster than those jumping, mainly because I didn’t have to be careful of my footing to avoid breaking an ankle. I just picked my line and charged ahead like a juggernaut! I thoroughly enjoyed that one, which should come as no surprise as I have stated that I like playing in the dirt. And I am a natural climber.
