“What’s up you two? See each other naked or something?” he asked teasingly. I caught a flash of surprise in Alex’s eyes before he put his dominant Changer face back on. I laughed a little.

“No, no nudity occurred. I was an idiot and insulted him, he in return threatened me.” I explained glibly. Barry actually winced. Amusement glowed in Alex’s eyes.

“So you admit you’re wrong?” he asked. I shook my head.

“Hell no, but I could have gotten my point across a tad more diplomatically. I meant every word I said.” I replied, still smiling. The amusement left Alex’s eyes and Barry smacked my leg gently.

Deciding to ignore me, Alex started to grill Barry on the exact sequence of actions. I heard a knock at the door and padded over to check it out. Cassie and Edward were back. I checked my watch, 9 pm, huh, good nap. All five of us crammed into the apartment made for an interesting time. But luckily Cas and Edward brought me pajamas and some Chinese food. There were way too many of us for the kitchen so I banished everyone out but did manage to do it respectfully. Maybe I’d actually get the knack for not pissing Alex off. But it was kind of fun to nettle him. Not many people had the gall to taunt the man and it was good for him.

Barry got his meat raw, on a plate. I had been kind enough to cut it into strips for him though. I did not need to see him ravage the bloody meat. Everyone else got plates of Chinese food. I made a special point of putting a fork with Cassie’s plate. She glared at me for it and I smiled.

“Until you learn how to use chopsticks, you’re stuck using a fork. No need to repeat the last time.” I said, a little condescendingly. Barry choked back a laugh while Alex and Edward looked curious. “She chased a chicken ball around the table and finally stabbed it with a chopstick. Girl has no class.” I shook my head jokingly and Cas pushed my shoulder.

After making sure everyone had gotten their food, I got my plate and sat on the floor. The dining room table sat two, Alex and Edward, and with Barry sprawled out on the couch only Cassie could fit on it with him. It didn’t bug me, I’d eaten sitting on the floor before. Barry actually snarled a little as he ate. I smacked his foot.

“Eat nicely.” Cassie admonished him. We’d gotten sort of used to seeing him eat bloody meat, but the snarling was a bit off putting. He quieted down. Almost as soon as he was done eating , Barry started to shiver. Cassie checked him out.

“Energy shock. Let’s get him to bed and warmed up.” She commanded. We all started moving to do different tasks. I went to the bedroom and got his king sized bed ready. His bed filled the bedroom almost wall to wall. As they maneuvered Barry into his bed, I slipped into the bathroom and got into my pajamas; a t-shirt and shorts. “We’ll let you get some rest and see you in the morning.” Cassie said as she tucked Barry in. Her bedside manner as a Healer is awesome. She oozed comfort.

“Goodnight you guys.” I said, taking them to the door. I’d actually sort of forgotten about Alex by this point. He’d gone into the bathroom after I had. I crawled into bed with Barry, my stomach to his back so he’d know he was protected. Anyone who wanted to get to him would have to go through me first. I was all settled in when the bathroom door opened and Alex stepped into the bedroom, in his own pajamas. I raised an eyebrow at him.
