"That's so sweet of you Ragini, but I think I will be good. If I need anything I will let Sanskar know about it. Will you please help Mom and Badi Ma with today's household work?" Swara made a puppy look.
Sanskar was working on his Mac but his full concentration was on sister's talks.His fingers halted for a moment when his wife was trying her best to kick her sister out of their room. He pressed his lips to suppress his chuckle.
Later, after long efforts from Swara, Ragini left their room.
The entire morning and afternoon Swara and Sanskar stayed inside their room. In the late afternoon, Sanskar had to join one business call, he saw Swara in deep slumber under medicine's impact. He went out thinking not to disturb her sleep, leaving a note beside her table with his reason for abrupt absence.
After almost half an hour Swara woke up, she roamed her eyes over each corner of the room to find her husband. She saw a note on her night table.
'I have to join one meeting... I cannot skip it.  Don't worry, I am still at home just downstairs study. Didn't want to disturb your sleep. Don't need to get up from bed, you are still weak. I will be back to our room in an hour or two.'

She read his message, a smile automatically crept over her lips looking at his caring gesture. Swara sat on bed following her husband's instructions. She took her phone and typed.
'Missing you.'
'Will be back soon.' His reply was instant this time.
Within two days, Swara was back to herself, she was in the garden giving water to plants when Ragini came with a tray filled with afternoon tea and snacks followed by her mother-in-laws.
Maheshwari ladies were having a good time discussing household chores when Ragini asked carefully, "Swara, is everything alright between you and Sanskar?"
Her question left all other three in a dumbfounded state. 
"What happened, Ragini?" Annapurna asked even before Swara could come up with an answer.
"Nothing Badi Maa. Ragini, what are you even asking?." This time Swara replied uncomfortably.
"Swara, two days back, I saw your swollen eyes. You had cried over something. As your sister, I need to know what has happened?" Ragini could not understand her sister's reluctance.
"There was nothing Ragini." Swara tried to cover up. She did not like it when her sister broached a sensitive topic in front of their mother in laws. In fact, she did not like her sister's interference in her matters... for the first time.
"Swara, we all know there is something wrong between you and Sanskar. He is not himself to you and to our family as well even after a long time. We all know he loves you but his actions, his words are impacting you. I know, his aloof and distant behaviour with everyone in the family is disturbing you. He should now leave the past and move on. It's high time. As a sister, I cannot see you in pain. Do you want me or any of us to talk to him?" Ragini's words baffled Swara. 
Her sister was openly discussing her personal life, which was turning intolerable by each passing word.
Annapurna and Sujata shifting their eyes between two daughter in laws. 
Swara stayed silent for a moment, not moving her eyes from her sister's face.
"I am glad to see your concerns towards me, Ragini, but I will not appreciate your or any third person's interference in my married life. Let me and Sanskar handle our own issues as a matured married couple." Swara took a deep breath before answering. It was hard for Swara to keep her voice gentle.
