bobert reacted quickly, stepping closer to the other boy as well, both of them facing each other, "when a human comes near, you hide. you can't just go up to them like that, it'll blow our cover." he glared at the smaller boy.
"oh yeah? well that human was about to help us-" 
"-i don't care! you can't trust the outsiders, they hunt us! we all could've died because of you." 
"hey, hey!" tanya walked up to the boys. y/n looked over at the pack members in the kitchen one by one, left to right.
there was maddox, bobert, omar, elliot & silas. they all looked stressed. 
tanya looked between maddox & bobert, "let's not fight in front of the food."
bobert clenched his jaws & glared down at maddox, obviously creating an uncomfortable tension in the room. 
"b..." tanya tried, making the boy finally look away, facing her.
"b is so hot." talulla whispered to one of her friends that sat next to y/n. the girl rolled her eyes. bobert was at least four years older than talulla.
the boy looked down at tanyas hand, "what happened? why is your hand bandaged?" 
tanya looked over at y/n, bobert's gaze following. his eyes landed on the girl, eyebrows raising, he studied the semi-new pack member that he'd seen around. 
"oh my god, is he looking at me?" talulla beamed, but b's sights were set on y/n. they seemed to always be set on her these days.
y/n made eye contact with him before biting the inside of her cheek, quickly looking away before any of the other pack members could notice. 
"cunt." talulla whispered.
biting back to words from her tongue that she so desperately wanted to spew at the brat, y/n chose to ignore her. she heard io come in, talking to bobert & getting the situation handled. "she's fine, i took care of it."
"d'she bite you?" 
"she was in the woods alone, i had to bring her back."
y/n closed her eyes, listening to the group in the kitchen talk about her. something no one tells you before you become a werewolf, your hearing it heightened, which was kind of a struggle for her.
she did her best to drown out the gossip of the girls to her right, paired with the hushed discussions by bobert, tanya & io in the kitchen. it was all becoming too much. 
she considered just leaving, going up to her room & not talking to anyone until dinner was ready, ignoring the calls of her name & nagging of the other girls, she really did. 
but right as she was about to act on instinct, she felt a presence beside her, a weight being sat down on the carpet beside her, considering all the chairs were occupied. 
she was hit with the heavy stench of outside, turning to her left to see bobert, munching away on his bag of beef jerky he brought back to the site, along with other resources & goods.
y/n's stomach rumbled, staring at the bag of delicious jerky. b obviously heard it, outstretching his hand so she could grab some, "here, i got 'em to share."
