Caressing it? Draco repeated in his head and looked down at Harry's hand before briefly back up to his eyes. Oh. Harry had a patient smile on his face and he nodded. Draco took a staggered breath, realizing Harry was talking about... their connection. That Harry really meant he was his family... not just the krups.
His breathing was erratic when he broke eye contact. This was more than just Harry feeling bad for him or helping him out. It was more than concern for his well-being. It was more. Harry wanted him... as a... friend? boyfriend? Or more? But the way that Harry was staring at him left little doubt. Harry was attracted to him, and Draco knew he was attached to Harry, too.
But he looked back at the Dark Mark. He was tainted. "I'm not good for you," he whispered. The dark thoughts in his head were coming out.
"Yes, you are," Harry growled.
"I have nothing," he lamented.
"You don't need to have anything. I don't need wealth or material things. I know you and I can feel your heart. I can't describe how much you mean to me. Draco... I want you in my life, my home and..." Harry paused before he whispered. "...and my heart."
Draco gasped, "You... do?"
"I really do, Draco. I don't want to... overwhelm you, but I can't stop thinking about you. All I do at work every day is think about getting home to talk to you. I want to know you and I want you to know me. I don't care about what has happened in the past. We both had so much crap to deal with... and most of it, wasn't our fault. And if you feel like you need to contribute to our family... we can find you a nice, safe job that you enjoy. But I never want you to leave. I'd honestly be devastated... if you did," Harry said, lowering his head.
Draco reached up and touched his face. "Harry... I don't want to leave. I... want stay. I love talking with you, and I feel so safe, safer than I ever had before. I-I just think that you could do better."
Harry smirked. "Better than someone who's smart? Someone who's a survivor? Someone who's been through hell and back and didn't lose your soul in the process? Someone... who understands what Voldemort was really like."
Draco lowered his head. "I was so scared, I thought I was going to die every day."
"I know. I really did know that. Draco... I was there at the tower. The night Dumbledore died, did you know that?"
Draco trembled and shook his head.
"You didn't kill Dumbledore... even at the risk of your life and your family's lives. You lowered your wand. Draco, you're a good person. A good person raised in a bad place and hurt by so many people, and you still choose not to be evil. But you're free, now, Draco."
He took a shaky breath and nodded.
"Let's get you off the floor, alright?"
Draco accepted his hand, and Harry pulled him to his feet, where he promptly sat on the bed. Harry sat next to him and offered his hand to him. Draco took it and let Harry soothe him until he calmed down enough to lay down and sleep. Harry whispered a goodnight before slipping out of the room, back to his own.

Gus and Shadow were curled up next to him when he woke up. Potter was probably at work. He got up, showered and dressed. The krups had wandered around whilst he did that. But then he opened the door to the hallway as Harry was about to knock.
"Oh... hi..." Draco said, awkwardly. He wasn't expecting him.
"It's Sunday," Harry explained. "I get days off every once in a while."
